Development of the NWPU20 Micro Air Vehicle

This paper reports the design, construction, and operation of NWPU20 Micro Air Vehicle (MAV), which is the smallest that has, up to now, been developed in PR China. The miniaturization level in PR China makes smaller MAV, in our opinion, not possible to implement. The NWPU20 is a 20-centimeter span, battery powered, fixed-wing aircraft with an off-the-shelf color video camera that can transmit live video back to the ground station. The on-board electronic subsystems are smallest and lightest among the commercial products, including an 8-gram wireless video camera, an 8-gram receiver, a 5-gram electronic speed controller (ESC), two 4.5-gram fully proportional radio frequency control servos, and the total mass of NWPU20 is less than 80 grams. An experimental model was fabricated and tested in the Low Turbulent Flow Wind Tunnel (LTFWT) at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU) to research low Reynolds number flow characteristics of the NWPU20. The result of the wind tunnel test shows that stall angle of attack of NWPU20 can reach 30°, which is higher than that of the general aircrafts, and the maximum lift-to-drag ratio of NWPU20 can nearly reach 6 at the angle of attack of 10°, which can satisfy design requirements of the NWPU20. A small-sized propulsion/torque testing system was developed to measure and analyze the propulsion and torque performances of the motor-propeller combination used in the NWPU20. A center of gravity (c.g.) testing apparatus was developed and used to adjust the c.g. of the NWPU20 so that it has good longitudinal static stability and control. The NWPU20 prototype has undergone successfully flight tests many times; it flies at 32 kilometers per hour, with an endurance of 15 minutes, and a maximum communications range of 300 meters. With the color video camera, NWPU20 successfully transmits real-time video back to the ground station. The success of NWPU20 proves preliminarily that 20-centimeter span micro air vehicle is feasible and usable.

A convergence analysis for a class of practical variance-reduction stochastic gradient MCMC

Stochastic gradient Markov chain Monte Carlo(SG-MCMC) has been developed as a flexible family of scalable Bayesian sampling algorithms. However, there has been little theoretical analysis of the impact of minibatch size to the algorithm’s convergence rate. In this paper, we prove that at the beginning of an SG-MCMC algorithm, i.e., under limited computational budget/time, a larger minibatch size leads to a faster decrease of the mean squared error bound. The reason for this is due to the prominent noise in small minibatches when calculating stochastic gradients, motivating the necessity of variance reduction in SG-MCMC for practical use. By borrowing ideas from stochastic optimization, we propose a simple and practical variance-reduction technique for SG-MCMC, that is efficient in both computation and *** importantly, we develop the theory to prove that our algorithm induces a faster convergence rate than standard SG-MCMC. A number of large-scale experiments, ranging from Bayesian learning of logistic regression to deep neural networks, validate the theory and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed variance-reduction SG-MCMC framework.

Screening, ACE-inhibitory mechanism and structure-activity relationship of a novel ACE-inhibitory peptide from Lepidium meyenii (Maca) protein hydrolysate

Maca is an edible functional plant with antihypertensive ***,there is still no clear understanding of angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)inhibitory substances in *** the present study,six novel angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI)peptides(RSRGVFF,LGHPVFRNK,HGSCNYR,KANLGFRF,GGGHKRLY and SSYLGRN)were found in maca protein hydrolysates using in silico tools and molecular *** revealed prominent ACE inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 5.01μM as a mixed-type ACE *** analysis of the structure-activity connection demonstrated that the arginine at N-terminal is the most likely active residue in RSRGVFF,and two phenylalanines at the C-terminal also contributed to its inhibitory ***,these results indicate that maca protein may be one of the substances that leads to antihypertensive *** provides a new perspective to understanding the ACE inhibitory activity of maca and offers valuable insights to enlighten the structure-activity relationship of ACEI peptides.

Low-Carbon Routing Based on Improved Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for Electric Trackless Rubber-Tyred Vehicles

Trackless rubber-tyerd vehicles are the core equipment for auxiliary transportation in inclined-shaft coal mines,and the rationality of their routes plays the direct impact on operation safety and energy *** studies have been done on scheduling rubber-tyerd vehicles driven by diesel oil,however,less works are for electric trackless rubber-tyred ***,energy consumption of vehicles gives no consideration on the impact of complex roadway and traffic rules on driving,especially the limited cruising ability of electric trackless rubber-tyred vehichles(TRVs).To address this issue,an energy consumption model of an electric trackless rubber-tyred vehicle is formulated,in which the effects from total mass,speed profiles,slope of roadways,and energy management mode are all *** that,a low-carbon routing model of electric trackless rubber-tyred vehicles is built to minimize the total energy consumption under the constraint of vehicle avoidance,allowable load,and endurance *** a problem-solver,an improved artificial bee colony algorithm is put *** especially,an adaptive neighborhood search is designed to guide employed bees to select appropriate operator in a specific *** order to assign onlookers to some promising food sources reasonably,their selection probability is adaptively *** a stagnant food source,a knowledge-driven initialization is developed to generate a feasible *** experimental results on four real-world instances indicate that improved artificial bee colony algorithm(IABC)outperforms other comparative algorithms and the special designs in its three phases effectively avoid premature convergence and speed up convergence.

Summary What is already known about this topic?Mushroom poisoning is one of the most serious food safety issues in *** poisoning incidents resulted from eating mushrooms causing gastroenteritis and psycho-neurological disorder from which patients usually could fully *** deaths resulted from species causing acute liver failure and rhabdomyolysis,and the remaining deaths were attributed to acute renal failure and *** is added by this report?In 2021,the total number of investigations was 327 from 25 provincial-level administrative divisions,involving 923 patients and 20 deaths,and the overall mortality was 2.17%.Overall,74 poisonous mushrooms causing 6 different clinical syndromes were successfully identified,15 of which were newly recorded in China as poisonous *** are the implications for public health practice?Considering the potential huge risks for collecting and eating wild mushrooms,we strongly advise not collecting and eating unfamiliar wild *** knowledge about poisonous mushrooms is essential and urgent to reduce mushroom *** species identification timely after mushroom poisoning is important for appropriate diagnosis and *** deaths were ascribed to delayed hospitalization.
