Surface-enhanced Raman scattering（SERS） is applied to detect the concentration of carbendzim（CBZ） in tea leaves. Au colloid is selected and used for active surfaces, and the extraction conditions are optimized in the experiment. The linearity range for the SERS intensity and the concentration of CBZ is found to be0.5 to 8 mg kgà1. The detection limit for CBZ is 0.1 mg kgà1and its recovery in tea samples is 72.3%. The detection results for CBZ using this method are compared with those of HPLC, and no obvious difference can be found. In addition, by dripping the condensed Au colloid on the tea leaves, the proposed SERS approach could be used to the in-situ determination of the half life period of CBZ on tea leaves.

A novel type of A-type nanogrids(AGs)with axial and central chirality was synthesized via Friedel-Crafts gridization of thiophenes and difluorenyl biaromatic derivatives,yielding 9%-30%.Additionally,the effect of stereoisomers of 1,1'-binaphthyl difluorenols(BINDFOH)was investigated to demonstrate that R/S-BINDFOH is more advantageous for the synthesis of AGs than ***,tests on OFET memory devices showed that AGs have a larger storage window,indicating potential for data storage applications.

Neuroprotective effects of ultrasound-guided nerve growth factor injections after sciatic nerve injury

Nerve growth factor（NGF） plays an important role in promoting neuroregeneration after peripheral nerve injury. However, its effects are limited by its short half-life; it is therefore important to identify an effective mode of administration. High-frequency ultrasound（HFU） is increasingly used in the clinic for high-resolution visualization of tissues, and has been proposed as a method for identifying and evaluating peripheral nerve damage after injury. In addition, HFU is widely used for guiding needle placement when administering drugs to a specific site. We hypothesized that HFU guiding would optimize the neuroprotective effects of NGF on sciatic nerve injury in the rabbit. We performed behavioral, ultrasound, electrophysiological, histological, and immunohistochemical evaluation of HFU-guided NGF injections administered immediately after injury, or 14 days later, and compared this mode of administration with intramuscular NGF injections. Across all assessments, HFU-guided NGF injections gave consistently better outcomes than intramuscular NGF injections administered immediately or 14 days after injury, with immediate treatment also yielding better structural and functional results than when the treatment was delayed by 14 days. Our findings indicate that NGF should be administered as early as possible after peripheral nerve injury, and highlight the striking neuroprotective effects of HFU-guided NGF injections on peripheral nerve injury compared with intramuscular administration.

Objective To compare the characterization and myocardial differentiation capacity of arnniotic fluid-derived mesenchymal stromal cells （AF MSCs） and umbilical cord Wharton＇s Jelly-derived mesenchymal stromal cells （WJ MSCs）. Methods The human AF MSCs were cultured from amniotic fluid samples obtained by amniocentesis. The umbilical cord WJ MSCs were obtained from Wharton＇s Jelly of umbilical cords of infants delivered full-term by normal labor. The morphology, growth curves, and analyses by flow cytometry of cell surface markers were compared between the two types of cells. Myocardial genes （GATA-4, c-TnT, a-actin, and Cx43） were detected by real-time PCR and the corresponding protein expressions were detected by Western blot analysis after myocardial induced in AF MSCs and WJ MSCs. Results Our findings revealed AF MSCs and WJ MSCs shared similar morphological characteristics of the fibroblastoid shape. The AF MSCs were easily obtained than the WJ MSCs and had a shorter time to reach adherence of 2.7 ± 1.6 days to WJ MSCs of 6.5 ± 1.8 days. The growth curves by MTT cytotoxic assay showed the AF MSCs had a similar proliferative capacity at passage 5 and passage 10. However, the proliferative capacities ofWJ MSCs were decreased at 5 passage relative to 10 passage. Both AF stem cells and WJ stem cells had the characteristics of mesenchymal stromal cells with some characteristics of embryonic stem cells. They express CD29 and CD105, but not CD34. They were positive for Class I major histocompatibility （MHC I） antigens （HLA-ABC）, and were negative, or mildly positive, for MHC Class II （HLA-DR） antigen. Oct-4 was positive in all the two cells types. Both AF MSCs and WJ MSCs could differentiate along myocardium. The differentiation capacities were detected by the expression of GATA-4, c-TnT, a-actin, Cx43 after myocardial induction. Conclusions Both AF MSCs and WJ MSCs have the potential clinical application for myogenesis in cardiac regenerative therapy.

Recently, the analog matrix computing(AMC) concept has been proposed for fast, efficient matrix operations, by configuring global feedback loops with crosspoint resistive memory arrays and operational amplifiers(OAs). The implementation of a general real-valued matrix(containing both positive and negative elements) is enabled by using a set of analog inverters,which, however, is considered inefficient regarding circuit compactness, power consumption, and temporal response. Here, with the assistance of the conductance compensation(CC) strategy to take full advantage of the inherent differential inputs of OAs,new AMC circuits without analog inverters are designed. Such a design saves the area occupation and power dissipation of analog inverters, and thus turns to be smaller and lower-power. Simulation results reveal that the new circuit also shows a faster response towards the steady state, thanks to the reduction of poles in the circuit, which, again, is contributed by the elimination of analog inverters. Along with all of these benefits, extensive simulations demonstrate that the CC-AMC circuits do not compromise the computing performance in terms of relative error caused by various non-ideal factors in the circuit.

Question Does kinesio taping make an effect on patients with knee osteoarthritis?Design Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled *** People were diagnosed with knee *** Kinesio taping versus sham taping or no *** measures The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)*** Nine identified studies with 435 participants met the inclusion *** with sham taping or no intervention,kinesio taping improved short-term VAS score by a moderate and significant amount(SMD-0.99,95%CI-1.48 to-0.50,I=76%),long-term VAS score by a moderate and significant amount(SMD-0.54,95%CI-0.89 to-0.19,I=0%),and long-term WOMAC score by a moderate and significant amount(SMD-3.11,95%CI-5.31 to-0.91,I=69%).However,pooled estimates from four studies showed no significant effects of kinesio taping improved short-term WOMAC score(SMD 0.43,95%CI-7.48 to 8.34,I=96%).Conclusion The results indicated that kinesio taping can reduce pain and improve function in patients with knee *** estimates may change with more high-quality studies.

Kinesin is an archetypal microtubule-based molecular motor that can generate force to transport cargo in cells. The load dependence of the detachment rate is an important factor of the kinesin motor, the determination of which is critically related to the chemomechanical coupling mechanism of the motor. Here, we use three models for the load dependence of the detachment rate of the kinesin motor to study theoretically and numerically the maximal force generated and microtubuleattachment duration of the motor. By comparing the theoretical and numerical results with the available experimental data,we show that only one model can explain well the available experimental data, indicating that only this model can be applicable to the kinesin motor.
