Improved flotation performance of hematite fines using citric acid as a dispersant

In this study, citric acid was used as a dispersant to improve the flotation performance of hematite fines. The effect and mechanism of citric acid on the reverse flotation of hematite fines were investigated by flotation tests, sedimentation experiments, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, zeta-potential measurements, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）. The results of SEM analysis and flotation tests reveal that a strong heterocoagulation in the form of slime coating or coagulation in hematite fine slurry affects the beneficiation of hematite ores by froth flotation. The addition of a small amount of citric acid（less than 300 g/t） favorably affects the reverse flotation of hematite fines by improving particle dispersion. The results of sedimentation experiments, zeta-potential measurements, and XPS measurements demonstrate that citric acid adsorbs onto hematite and quartz surfaces via hydrogen bonding, thereby reducing the zeta potentials of mineral surfaces, strengthening the electrical double-layer repulsion between mineral particles, and dispersing the pulp particles.

The guanine-nucleotide exchange factor(GEF)RalGPS1a activates small GTPase Ral proteins such as RalA and RalB by stimulating the exchange of Ral bound GDP to GTP,thus regulating various downstream cellular ***1a is composed of an Nterminal Cdc25-like catalytic domain,followed by a PXXP motif and a C-terminal pleckstrin homology(PH)*** Cdc25 domain of RalGPS1a,which shares about 30%sequence identity with other Cdc25-domain proteins,is thought to be directly engaged in binding and activating the substrate Ral *** we report the crystal structure of the Cdc25 domain of *** bowl shaped structure is homologous to the Cdc25 domains of SOS and *** most remarkable difference between these three Cdc25 domains lies in their active sites,referred to as the helical hairpin *** with previous enzymological studies,the helical hairpin of RalGPS1a adopts a conformation favorable for substrate binding.A modeled RalGPS1a-RalA complex structure reveals an extensive binding surface similar to that of the SOS-Ras ***,analysis of the electrostatic surface potential suggests an interaction mode between the RalGPS1a active site helical hairpin and the switch 1 region of substrate RalA distinct from that of the SOS-Ras complex.

A NEW METHOD OF MOVING OBJECT DETECTION AND SHADOW REMOVING

This paper presents an adaptive method of objects and shadows detection in video streams. Models of background are firstly set up and adaptively updated in Hue Saturation Intensity (HSI) color space to detect motion regions. Then, detection errors are dealt with by motion continuity and velocity consistency. Finally, cast shadows are removed by the generic properties of luminance, chrominance and gradient density. Experimental results and their evaluation are presented to verify the effectiveness of this new method.

A very long wavelength infrared（VLWIR） focal plane array based on In As/Ga Sb type-Ⅱ super-lattices is demonstrated on a Ga Sb substrate. A hetero-structure photodiode was grown with a 50% cut-off wavelength of 15.2 μm, at 77 K.A 320×256 VLWIR focal plane array with this design was fabricated and characterized. The peak quantum efficiency without an antireflective coating was 25.74% at the reverse bias voltage of-20 mV, yielding a peak specific detectivity of 5.89×10^10cm·Hz^1/2·W^-1. The operability and the uniformity of response were 89% and 83.17%. The noise-equivalent temperature difference at 65 K exhibited a minimum at 21.4 mK, corresponding to an average value of 56.3 mK.

This paper investigates the problem of adaptive almost disturbance decoupling for a class of generalized high-order uncertain nonlinear systems. The control strategy is on the basis of continuous domination and delicate adaptive technique and the adaptive state-feedback controller is one-dimensional irrespective of the number of unknown parameters. An appropriate nonlinear function and transformation skill are introduced to mitigate the effects of external disturbances. As an application, an example is provided to illustrate the correctness of the theoretical results.

Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of GDSL esterase/lipase genes in tomato

The GDSL esterase/lipase family contains many functional genes that perform important biological functions in growth and development, morphogenesis, seed oil synthesis, and defense responses in plants. The expression of GDSL esterase/lipase genes can respond to biotic and abiotic stresses. Although GDSL esterase/lipase family genes have been identified and studied in other plants, they have not been identified and their functions remain unclear in tomato. This study is the first to identify 80 GDSL esterase/lipase family genes in tomato, which were named SlGELP1–80. These genes were mapped to their positions on the chromosomes and their physical and chemical properties, gene structure, phylogenetic relationships, collinear relationships, and cis-acting elements were analyzed. The spatiotemporal expression characteristics of the Sl GELP genes in tomato were diverse. In addition, RNA-seq analysis indicated that the expression patterns of the SlGELP genes in tomato differed before and after inoculation with Stemphylium lycopersici. qRT-PCR was used to analyze the expression of five Sl GELP genes after treatments with S. lycopersici, salicylic acid and jasmonic acid. Finally, this study was the first to identify and analyze GDSL esterase/lipase family genes in tomato via bioinformatics approaches, and these findings provide new insights for improving the study of plant disease resistance.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Fungicidal Activity of Ethyl 2-(3-(4-Fluorobenzamido)phenyl)-4-((4-fluorobenzoyl)oxy)thiazole-5-carboxylate

The target compound, ethyl 2-（3-（4-fluorobenzamido）phenyl）-4-（（4-fluorobenzoyl）oxy） thiazole-5-carboxylate, was synthesized by four-step procedures including N-protection, thionation, cyclization and acylation. Its structure was characterized by 1 H NMR, 13C NMR, HRMS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The target compound crystallizes as monoclinic crystal system, space group C2/c with a = 9.6097（19）, b = 14.246（3）, c = 33.070（7） ?, V = 4515.1（16） ?3, Z = 8, Dc = 1.496 Mg/m3, F（000） = 2096 and μ = 0.203 mm-1. There are 21864 reflections measured（4.94≤2θ≤55.96°）, of which 5357 were unique（Rint = 0.1418） and used in all calculations. The final R = 0.0581（I > 2σ（I）） and wR = 0.1453（reflections）. The target compound showed over 50% of growth inhibition against Physalospora piricola, Rhizoctonia cerealis and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
