This study investigates how the El Nino-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)modulates the intraseasonal variability(ISV)of Pacific-Japan(PJ)teleconnection *** PJ index during boreal summer is constructed from the empirical orthogonal function(EOF)of the 850-hPa zonal wind(U850)*** periods of the PJ index are found during El Nino and La Nina *** ISV of the PJ pattern is significant during 10-25 days for both types of summers,it peaks on Days 30 and 60 in El Nino and La Nina summers *** El Nino summers,the 30-day ISV of PJ pattern is related to the northwestward propagating intraseasonal oscillation(ISO)over the western North Pacific(WNP),which is originated from the tropical Indian Ocean(IO).During La Nina summers,the 60-day ISV of PJ pattern is related to the northeastward propagating ISO from the tropical *** low-frequency ISV modes in both El Nino and La Nina summers are closely related to the boreal summer ISO(BSISO),and the high-frequency ISV modes over WNP are related to the quasi-biweekly *** underlying mechanisms for these different evolutions are also discussed.

Gastric duplication is a congenital malformation occurring mostly in infants or childhood. It is rarely found in adults. Some are completely separate cystic lesions unconnected to the stomach, which makes them more difficult to diagnose in a clinical setting. Differential diagnoses of this separate form often include a pancreatic pseudocyst or pancreatic cystic tumor according to the anatomic location. Some associated anomalies have been documented in the literature, but these are rare. Herein, we report a case of gastric duplication at the splenic hilum of a young female adult with a clinical impression of endometriosis due to the coexistence of a fight ovarian cyst and image findings.

In this review article,we pay primary attention to innovative works in the Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO)field done by Chinese *** historical aspect of discovery of the MJO and earlier studies of its dynamics by Chinese scientists are first *** is followed by the description of recent advances in MJO propagation and initiation *** MJO eastward propagation,two types of the moisture mode theory are *** first one emphasizes the effect of zonal asymmetry of perturbation moisture in the atmospheric boundary layer and the second one emphasizes the zonal asymmetry of column integrated moisture static energy(MSE)*** mechanisms for MJO initiation over the western Indian Ocean include three distinctive processes:lower tropospheric moistening due to horizontal advection caused by preceding suppressed-phase MJO,midlatitude Rossby wave activity flux convergence in the upper troposphere originated from the Southern Hemisphere,and a delayed sea surface temperature feedback in association with a preceding opposite-phase *** impacts of MJO on low-frequency variability of precipitation and temperature and associated extreme events in East Asia are also discussed.

Experiments are carried out to study the characteristics of active bubbles entrained by breaking waves as these propagate over an abruptly topographical change or a submerged breakwater. Underwater sounds generated by the entrained air bubbles are detected by a hydrophone connected to a charge amplifier and a data acquisition system. The size distribution of the bubbles is then determined inversely from the received sound frequencies. The sound signals are converted from time domain to time-frequency domain by applying Gabor transform. The number of bubbles with different sizes are counted from the signal peaks in the time-frequency domain. The characteristics of the bubbles are in terms of bubble size spectra, which account for the variation in bubble probability density related to the bubble radius r. The experimental data demonstrate that the bubble probability density function shows a - 2.39 power-law sealing with radius for r 〉 0. 8 mm, and a- 1.11 power law for r 〈0.8 mm.

Fetal distress is one of the main factors to cesarean section in obstetrics and gynecology. If the fetus lack of oxygen in uterus, threat to the fetal health and fetal death could happen. Cardiotocography (CTG) is the most widely used technique to monitor the fetal health and fetal heart rate (FHR) is an important index to identify occurs of fetal distress. This study is to propose discriminant analysis (DA), decision tree (DT), and artificial neural network (ANN) to evaluate fetal distress. The results show that the accuracies of DA, DT and ANN are 82.1%, 86.36% and 97.78%, respectively.

This paper presents research on a low power CMOS UWB LNA based on a cascoded common source and current-reused topology. A systematic approach for the design procedure from narrow band to UWB is developed and discussed in detail. The power reduction can be achieved by using body biased technique and current-reused topology. The optimum width of the major transistor device M1 is determined by the power-constraint noise optimization with inner parasitic capacitance between the gate and source terminal. The derivation of the signal amplification S21 by high frequency small signal model is displayed in the paper. The optimum design of the complete circuit was studied in a step by step analysis. The measurements results show that the proposed circuit has superior S11, gain, noise figure, and power consumption. From the measured results, S11 is lower than -12 dB, S22 is lower than -10 dB and forward gain S21 has an average value with 12 dB. The noise figure is from 4 to 5.7 dB within the whole band. The total power consumption of the proposed circuit including the output buffer is 4.6 mW with a supply voltage of 1 V. This work is implemented in a standard TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS process technology.

This paper demonstrates wide-band CMOS VCO based on the transformer feedback from traditional circuit to our proposed work. The start up condition of the traditional cross-coupled pair is expressed by the high frequency model. The wide band technique of this structure is derived with the help of the high frequency model of the transistor. Therefore, the wide band CMOS VCO based on the common source transformer feedback topology can achieves the high performance in the low voltage and low phase noise. The measurement result of the VCO exhibits the figure of merit, core power consumption and output power at supply voltage 0.8 V are –193.1 dBc/Hz, 4.4 mW and –2.3 dBm, respectively. The phase noise is –124.3 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset under the operation frequency 5.8 GHz. And the tuning range of the circuit can obtain 28%, this VCO is fabricated in TSMC 0.18 μm 1P6MCMOS process.

Despite recognition of the relationship between infrastructure resilience and community recovery,very limited empirical evidence exists regarding the extent to which the disruptions in and restoration of infrastructure ser-vices contribute to the speed of community *** address this gap,this study investigates the relationship between community and infrastructure systems in the context of hurricane impacts,focusing on the recovery dy-namics of population activity and power infrastructure *** observational data were utilized to analyze the extent of impact,recovery duration,and recovery types of both systems in the aftermath of Hurricane *** study reveals three key ***,power outage duration positively correlates with outage extent until a certain impact threshold is *** this threshold,restoration time remains relatively stable re-gardless of outage *** finding underscores the need to strengthen power infrastructure,particularly in extreme weather conditions,to minimize outage restoration ***,power was fully restored in 70% of affected areas before population activity levels *** finding suggests the role infrastructure function-ality plays in post-disaster community *** power restoration did not equate to rapid population activity recovery due to other possible factors such as transportation,housing damage,and business ***,if power outages last beyond two weeks,community activity resumes before complete power restoration,indicating adaptability in prolonged outage *** implies the capacity of communities to adapt to on-going power outages and continue daily life *** findings offer valuable empirical insights into the interaction between human activities and infrastructure systems,such as power outages,during extreme weather *** also enhance our empirical understanding of how infrastructure resilience influences community recov
