Early-stage latent thermal failure of single-crystal Ni-rich layered cathode

High nickel content worsens the thermal stability of layered cathodes for lithium-ion batteries,raising safety concerns for their *** understanding the thermal failure process can offer valuable guidance for material optimization on thermal stability and new opportunities in monitoring battery thermal runaway(TR).Herein,this work comprehensively investigates the thermal failure process of a single-crystal nickel-rich layered cathode and finds that the latent thermal failure starts at∼120℃far below the TR temperature(225℃).During this stage of heat accumulation,sequential structure transition is revealed by atomic resolution electron microscopy,which follows the layered→cation mixing layered→LiMn_(2)O_(4)-type spinel→disordered spinel→rock *** progression occurs as a result of the continuous migration and densification of transition metal *** transition generates gaseous oxygen,initially confined within the isolated closed pores,thereby not showing any thermal failure phenomena at the *** temperature leads to pore growth and coalescence,and eventually to the formation of open pores,causing oxygen gas release and weight loss,which are the typical TR *** highlight that latent thermal instability occurs before the macro-level TR,suggesting that suppressing phase transitions caused by early thermal instability is a crucial direction for material *** findings can also be used for early warning of battery thermal runaway.

Effect of X-rays on Expression of Caspase-3 and p53 in EL-4 Cells and Its Biological Implications

Objective To investigate the effect of X-rays on expression of caspase-3 and p53 protein in EL-4 cells and its implications in induction of apoptosis and polyploid cells. Methods Mouse lymphoma cell line （EL-4 cells） was used. Fluorescent staining and flow cytometry analysis were employed for measurement of protein expression, apoptosis, cell cycle, and polyploid cells. Results The expression of caspase-3 protein increased significantly at 8 h and 12 h, compared with that of sham-irradiated control （P〈0.05, respectively） and the expression of p53 protein increased significantly at 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 h, compared with that of sham-irradiated control （P〈0.05-P〈0.01） in EL-4 cells after 4.0 Gy X-irradiation. Apoptosis of EL-4 cells was increased significantly at 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after 4.0Gy exposure, compared with that of sham-irradiated control （P〈0.05-P〈0.001）. G2 phase cells were increased significantly at 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h （P〈0,05-P〈0.001）. However, no marked change in the number of 8 C polyploid cells was found from 2 to 48 h after 4.0 Gy exposure. Conclusion The expressions of caspase-3 and p53 protein in EL-4 cells are induced by X-rays, which might play an important role in the induction of apoptosis, and the molecular pathway for polyploid formation might be p53-independent.

Simple preparation of C(CS)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Co carbon aerogel and its catalytic performance for ammonium perchlorate

Biomass chitosan(CS)was used as a template,graphitic phase carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))with high nitrogen content and certain catalytic activity was used as a dopant,and nano-transition metal cobalt(Co)was used as a catalytic center *** carbon aerogel(C(CS)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Co)with a three-dimensional network-like structure was prepared by assembling the three materials through experimental operations such as freeze-drying and high-temperature *** was demonstrated by scanning and transmission characterization that the CS in the carbon aerogel could provide more active sites for the cobalt nanoparticles,and the doping of graphite-phase carbon nitride as a template dispersed the cobalt nanoparticles and changed the conductivity of the *** investigate the catalytic effect of carbon aerogel on ammonium perchlorate(AP),it was investigated by differential thermal analyzer and TG thermal *** carbon aerogel was very effective in catalyzing AP,and the 10 wt% content of the catalyst reduced the AP pyrolysis peak from 703.9 to 595.5 *** to further investigate the synergistic effect of the three materials,further carbon aerogels such as C(CS)/Co,g-C_(3)N_(4)/Co were prepared and applied to catalyze AP,and the same ratio reduced the AP pyrolysis peak by 98.1℃ and 97.7℃.This result indicates a synergistic effect of the assembly of the three materials.

Risk factors for lymph node metastasis in superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

In this editorial,we comment on the article by Wang et al published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastroenterology in *** focused on identifying risk factors for lymph node metastasis(LNM)in superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SESCC)patients and how to construct a simple and reliable clinical prediction model to assess the risk of LNM in SESCC patients,thereby helping to guide the selection of an appropriate treatment *** current standard treatment for SESCC is radical esophagectomy with lymph node ***,esophagectomy is associated with considerable morbidity and *** resection(ER)offers a safer and less invasive alternative to surgical resection and can enable the patient's quality of life to be maintained while providing a satisfactory ***,since ER is a localized treatment that does not allow for lymph node dissection,the risk of LNM in SESCC limits the effectiveness of *** LNM status can aid in determining whether patients with SESCC can be cured by ER without the need for additional *** studies have shown that tumor size,macroscopic type of tumor,degree of differentiation,depth of tumor invasion,and lymphovascular invasion are factors associated with LNM in patients with *** addition,tumor budding is commonly associated with LNM,recurrence,and distant metastasis,but this topic has been less covered in previous *** comprehensively evaluating the above risk factors for LNM,useful evidence can be obtained for doctors to select appropriate treatments for SESCC patients.

Recovery of scandium from silicate minerals by high-pressure leaching in sulfuric acid

This study investigated the leaching of scandium from a Sc-bearing silicate *** Sc concentrate obtained by beneficiation pre-enrichment has 1.03×10^(−4) wt%Sc and 14.66 wt%*** main Sc-bearing minerals are limonite,chlorite,sericite,and hornblende,in the form of ***-pressure leaching(HPL)with sulfuric acid(98 wt%)and NaF was used to dispose this *** Sc leaching efficiency of 91.82%was obtained under the optimum conditions,which are pressure of 5.0×10^(5) Pa,A/O value of 1.1,L/S value of 1.8,NaF dosage of 2 wt%,at 130℃ for 6 *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)results show that the residue is mainly quartz phase in the multihole *** with ordinary leaching for silicate,high-pressure leaching has significant advantages in saving acid and energy consumption.

Toward a rapid and convenient nanoplastic quantification method in laboratory-scale study based on fluorescence intensity

The thorough investigation of nanoplastics(NPs)in aqueous environments requires efficient and expeditious quantitative analytical methods that are sensitive to environmentally relevant NP concentrations and convenient to *** analysis-based quantitative methods have been acknowledged as effective and rapid approaches for quantifying NP concentrations in laboratory-scale ***,we compared three commonly used optical response indicators,namely fluorescence intensity(FI),ultraviolet absorbance,and turbidity,to assess their performance in quantifying ***,orthogonal experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of various water quality parameters on the preferred indicator-based quantification *** results revealed that FI exhibits the highest correlation coefficient(>0.99)with NP ***,the limit of quantification(LOQ)for various types of NPs is exceptionally low,ranging from 0.0089 to 0.0584 mg/L in ultrapure water,well below environmentally relevant *** variations in water quality parameters such as pH,salinity,suspended solids(SS),and humic acid,a robust relationship between detectable FI and NP concentration was ***,an increased matrix,especially SS in water samples,results in an enhanced LOQ for ***,the quantitative method remains applicable in real water bodies,especially in drinking water,with NP LOQ as low as 0.0157–0.0711 mg/*** exceeds the previously reported detectable concentration for 100 nm NPs at 40µg/mL using surface-enhanced Raman *** study confirms the potential of FI as a reliable indicator for the rapid quantification of NPs in aqueous environments,offering substantial advantages in terms of both convenience and cost-effectiveness.

Selective core-shell doping enabling high performance 4.6 V-LiCoO2

Constructing robust surface and bulk structure is the prerequisite for realizing high performance high voltage LiCoO2（LCO）.Herein,we manage to synthesize a surface Mg-doping and bulk Al-doping coreshell structured LCO,which demonstrates excellent cycling ***-cell shows 94.2% capacity retention after 100 cycles at 3.0-4.6 V（***/Li+） cycling,and no capacity decay after 300 cycles for fullcell test（3.0-4.55 V）.Based on comprehensive microanalysis and theoretical calculations,the degradation mechanisms and doping effects are systematically *** the undoped LCO,high voltage cycling induces severe interfacial and bulk degradations,where cracks,stripe defects,fatigue H2 phase,and spinel phase are identified in grain *** the doped LCO,Mg-doped surface shell can suppress the interfacial degradations,which not only stabilizes the surface structure by forming a thin rock-salt layer but also significantly improves the electronic conductivity,thus enabling superior rate *** Al-doping can suppress the lattice "breathing" effect and the detrimental H3 to H1-3 phase transition,which minimizes the internal strain and defects growth,maintaining the layered structure after prolonged *** theoretical calculations,this work deepens our understanding of the doping effects of Mg and Al,which is valuable in guiding the future material design of high voltage LCO.

Regulation of phase structure has been recognized as one of the most effective ways to fabricate self-healing polymers with high mechanical *** mechanical properties of the resultant polymers are certainly affected by the size of separated phase ***,the study on this aspect is absence,because it can hardly exclude the influence of variation in monomer proportion required for tuning the separated phase ***,we report the first study on tuning the phase size through reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)polymerization without changing the proportion of *** expected,the size of separated phase has been successfully mediated from 15 nm to 9 nm by tuning the molecular weight of the chain transfer *** is found that the mechanical strength and the self-healing efficiency of the resultant polymers increase simultaneously with the decrease of phase *** study on the formation kinetics of hydrogen bonds reveals that the decrease of phase size can facilitate the re-bonding rate of hydrogen bonds,even if the migration of polymer chains is restricted.

Meta-analysis of curative effect of Sacubitril valsartan combined with Qiliqiangxin capsule in the treatment of patients with chronic cardiac failure

Objective:To systematically review the effect of Sacubitril valsartan combined with Qiliqiangxincapsule on clinical effect,serological index,cardiac function,quality of live,and adverse reactions in patients with heart ***:Search the databases of CNKI,VIP,WanFang,CBM,DuXiu,ChiCTR,Web of science,The Cochrane Library,PubMed and Embase to collect the randomized controlled trial(RCT)of Sacubitril valsartan combined with Qiliqiangxin capsule in the treatment of patients with heart failure,The search time limit is from the establishment of the database to May *** the literatures were screened,evaluated and extracted by two researchers independently,Meta analysis was carried out with Stata 16.1 ***:A total of 18 RCTs,were included,including 1613 *** results of the Meta-analysis showed that there was statistical significance in improving the effective rate(OR=2.60,95%CI[2.09,3.24],P<0.00001),N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(MD=-468.36,95%CI[-606.80,-329.92],P<0.00001),left ventricular ejection fraction(MD=5.41,95%CI[4.93,5.89],P<0.00001),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(MD=-3.27,95%CI[-3.65,-2.90],P<0.00001),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(MD=-3.60,95%CI[-4.99,-2.21],P<0.00001),6-minute walking distance(MD=61.42,95%CI[50.04,72.80],P<0.00001),Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire(MD=-11.39,95%CI[-14.50,-8.28],P<0.00001),and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score scale(MD=-3.62,95%CI[-6.45,-0.80],P=0.01),but there was no significant difference in cardiac output(MD=0.26,95%CI[-0.02,0.54],P=0.07)and adverse ***:The current evidence shows that Sacubitril Valsartan combined with Qiliqiangxin capsule can better improve cardiac function,TCM symptoms and quality of life in patients with heart failure than simple Sacubitril ***,there was no significantdifference in improving cardiac output between the two ***,higher quality RCTs are needed to verify.
