High-adaption locomotion with stable robot body for planetary exploration robot carrying potential instruments on unstructured terrain

There is a strong demand for Planetary Exploration Mobile robots(PEMRs)that have the capability of the traversability,stability,efficiency and high load while tackling the specialized tasks on planet surface.In this paper,an electric parallel wheel-legged hexapod robot which has high-adaption locomotion on the unstructured terrain is presented.Also,the hybrid control framework,which enables robot to stably carry the heavy loads as well as to traverse the uneven terrain by utilizing both legged and wheeled locomotion,is also proposed.Based on this framework,robot controls the multiple DOF leg for performing high-adaption locomotion to negotiate obstacles via Gait Generator(GG).Additionally,by using Whole-Body Control(WBC)of framework,robot has the capability of flexibly accommodating the uneven terrain by Attitude Control(AC)kinematically adjusting the length of legs like an active suspension system,and by Force/torque Balance Control(FBC)equally distributing the Ground Reaction Force(GRF)to maintain a stable body.The simulation and experiment are employed to validate the proposed framework with the physical system in the planetary analog environments.Particularly,to smoothly demonstrate the performance of robot transporting heavy loads,the experiment of carrying 3-person load of about 240 kg is deployed.

Introduction In December 2019,multiple cases of aggravated pneumonia of unidentified origin were reported inWuhan,China.These were confirmed to be caused by a novel coronavirus.The World Health Organization(WHO)named the disease coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses officially identified the novel virus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2).[1]Although China is now a low endemic areawith a downward trend in the number of confirmed and suspected cases,[2]the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic remains critical.By mid-March 2022,the cumulative number of reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide exceeded 450 million,with more than 6 million deaths.[3]Since there is no specific therapeutic drug for the treatment of COVID-19,it is important to control the epidemic by actively promoting SARS-CoV-2 vaccination globally,reducing the risk of viral transmission and the incidence of severe COVID-19,thus improving prognoses.[4]

To the Editor:Immune non-responders(INRs),who account for approximately 10-40%of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-infected individuals,have received effective treatment and exhibit persistent suppression of viral replication,but their CD4^(+)T-cell counts are not restored.They are likely to have an increased risk of non-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS)-related morbidity and mortality compared with immune responders(IRs).[1]CD8^(+)T cells play an important role in viral infection,and the functional properties of circulating CD8^(+)T cells have been associated with immune control of HIV.High CD8^(+)T-cell counts are beneficial for persistent viral decay and CD4 T-cell recovery in immune-restored patients during long-term antiretroviral therapy(ART).[2]Two subsets of CD8^(+)T cells have been identified according to their intensity of CD8 expression:CD8^(bri)and CD8^(dim)T lymphocytes.It was demonstrated that CD3^(+)CD8^(dim)T cells,with weaker function than CD3^(+)CD8^(bri)T cells,were associated with disease progression during HIV infection.[3]However,dynamic changes in the numbers of CD8^(bri)and CD8^(dim)T cells in INRs and IRs before and after ART have not yet been reported.

The construction of silicon-oxygen bonds has been highlighted as an exciting achievement in organosilicon and green chemistry,but their synthetic efficiency has great improvement potential,so it is crucial to explore and achieve an effective approach for synthesizing such compounds.In this study,we successfully prepared the highly dispersed platinum single-atom catalyst(Pt SAC/N-C)through a coordination-assisted strategy with a mixture of ligands(H2bpdc and H2bpydc),which were used for the Osilylation of alcohols with silanes.The strong coordination between Pt2+and the Pyridine N at the skeleton of UiO-67 plays a critical role in accessing the atomically isolated dispersion of Pt sites.Without the assistance of the H2bpydc ligands,the Pt/UiO-67-bpdc precursor is prone to aggregation during the pyrolysis process,resulting in the formation of Pt nanoparticles.Aided by advanced characterization techniques of high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADFSTEM)and X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS)spectroscopy,it has been demonstrated that atomically dispersed Pt was formed on the UiO-67 through a local structure of four-coordinated Pt-N4,exhibiting a high actual Pt loading content(0.6962 wt.%).In the oxidation of silanes,the Pt SAC/N-C catalyst showed a high turnover frequency(TOF)value(up to 9,920 h−1)when the catalyst loading decreased to 0.005%.Excellent performance was maintained during recycling experiments,indicating high stability of the catalyst.

Covalent organic frameworks doped with manganese-metal organic framework for peroxymonosulfate activation

A novel N, O modified Mn_(3)O_(4)@porous carbon catalyst(NOC-Mn_(3)O_(4)) was prepared by direct carbonization using the manganese-metal organic framework(Mn-MOF) and covalent organic framework(COF) as precursors to activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS) for the degradation of bisphenol A(BPA) and rhodamine B(Rh B). Benefiting from the N and O co-doping of COF, larger specific surface area, faster electron transfer and Mn cycling, the optimum 1NOC-Mn_(3)O_(4)could significantly improve the degradation performance of BPA and Rh B(92.1% and 96.9% within 30 min) as compared to C-Mn_(3)O_(4)without COF doping. In addition, 1NOC-Mn_(3)O_(4) showed good reusability and strong anti-interference ability. Radical quenching experiments, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), Electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer(EPR) and electrochemical tests showed that the 1NOC-Mn_(3)O_(4)/PMS system degraded BPA and Rh B by both radical and non-radical pathways. Moreover, the possible degradation pathways of BPA and Rh B were proposed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS). Except for that, the toxicity of BPA, Rh B and their intermediates were evaluated. This study opens up a new prospect for the design of COF-doped PMS catalysts.

Th17 cells are a new subset of CD4^＋ T cells fungi. Accumulating evidence suggests that Tb17 cells involved in the clearance of extracellular pathogens and and their signature cytokines have a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of multiple autoimmune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Here, we summarize recent research progress on Th17 function in the development and pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. We also propose to identify new small molecule compounds to manipulate Th17 function for potential therapeutic application to treat human autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren＇s syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Background:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)vaccine can induce a potent cellular and humoral immune response to protect against SARS-CoV-2 infection.However,it was unknown whether SARS-CoV-2 vaccination can induce effective natural killer(NK)cell response in people living with human immunodeficiency virus(PLWH)and healthy individuals.Methods:Forty-seven PLWH and thirty healthy controls(HCs)inoculated with SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine were enrolled from Beijing Youan Hospital in this study.The effect of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on NK cell frequency,phenotype,and function in PLWH and HCs was evaluated by flow cytometry,and the response of NK cells to SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Spike(SARS-2-OS)protein stimulation was also evaluated.Results:SARS-CoV-2 vaccine inoculation elicited activation and degranulation of NK cells in PLWH,which peaked at 2 weeks and then decreased to a minimum at 12 weeks after the third dose of vaccine.However,in vitro stimulation of the corresponding peripheral blood monocular cells from PLWH with SARS-2-OS protein did not upregulate the expression of the aforementioned markers.Additionally,the frequencies of NK cells expressing the activation markers CD25 and CD69 in PLWH were significantly lower than those in HCs at 0,4 and 12 weeks,but the percentage of CD16^(+)NK cells in PLWH was significantly higher than that in HCs at 2,4 and 12 weeks after the third dose of vaccine.Interestingly,the frequency of CD16^(+)NK cells was significantly negatively correlated with the proportion of CD107a^(+)NK cells in PLWH at each time point after the third dose.Similarly,this phenomenon was also observed in HCs at 0,2,and 4 weeks after the third dose.Finally,regardless of whether NK cells were stimulated with SARS-2-OS or not,we did not observe any differences in the expression of NK cell degranulation markers between PLWH and HCs.Conclusions:SARS-CoV-2 vaccine elicited activation and degranulation of NK cells,indicating that the inoculation of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine enhances NK cell immune respo

Retrospective analysis of results of treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma in Macao

Background： Nasopharyngeal carcinoma （NPC） is a common malignancy in Southeast Asia, however, a full consensus has not yet been reached as to the value of comprehensive treatment for NPC. This study was designed to evaluate the epidemiological characteristics of NPC and their prognostic value, as well as the long-term efficacy of NPC treatment. Patients and methods： A total of 248 patients, with different stages of NPC, were included in this study. Results： The 5-year overall survival （OS） rates for patients in stages I, II, lII and IV were 90.48%, 76.71%, 76.89% and 33.87%, respectively （P=0.000）, while the respective 5-year progression-free survival （PFS） rates were 85.15%, 72.36%, 63.88% and 26.26% （P=0.000）. The respective 5-year OS rates, according to stage, for the group that received radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy and for the group that received radiotherapy only were as follows： stages I and II, 81.67% and 79.59% （P=0.753）; stage III, 79.91% and 70.38% （P=0.143）; stage IV,, 35.22% and 0% （P=0.000）. The respective 5-year PFS rates in these groups were as follows： stages I and II, 75.83% and 74.98% （P=0.814）; stage III, 74.08% and 42.25% （P=0.027）; stage IV,, 27.31% and 0% （P=0.000）. Conclusions： Clinical staging appears to be the most important prognostic factor for NPC. As the stage number increases, both the 5-year OS and PFS significantly decrease. Adding chemotherapy to radiotherapy was not advantageous for patients with stage I or II NPC, however the addition of chemotherapy to radiotherapy significantly improved OS and PFS in patients with stage IV NPC. The addition of chemotherapy improved PFS, but not OS in patients with stage III NPC.

Katanin, a microtubule-severing enzyme, consists of two subunits：the catalytic subunit P60, and the regulatory subunit P80. In several species, P80 functions in meiotic spindle organization, the flagella biogenesis, the neuronal development, and the male gamete production. However, the P80 function in higher plants remains elusive. In this study, we found that there are three katanin P80 orthologs （OsKTN80a, OsKTN80b, and OsKTN80c） in Oryza sativa L. Overexpression of OsKTN80a caused the retarded root growth of rice seedlings. Further investigation indicates that the retained root growth was caused by the repressed cell elongation in the elongation zone and the stalled cytokinesis in the division zone in the root tip. The in vivo examination suggests that OsKTN80a acts as a microtubule stabilizer. We＆amp;nbsp;prove that OsKTN80a, possibly associated with OsKTN60, is involved in root growth via regulating the cell elongation and division.
