Objective To investigate changes in the urinary metabolite profiles of children exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)during critical brain development and explore their potential link with the intestinal *** Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was used to determine ten hydroxyl metabolites of PAHs(OH-PAHs)in 36-month-old ***,37 children were categorized into low-and high-exposure groups based on the sum of the ten ***-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry was used to identify non-targeted metabolites in the urine ***,fecal flora abundance was assessed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing using Illumina *** The concentrations of 21 metabolites were significantly higher in the high exposure group than in the low exposure group(variable importance for projection>1,P<0.05).Most of these metabolites were positively correlated with the hydroxyl metabolites of naphthalene,fluorine,and phenanthrene(r=0.336–0.531).The identified differential metabolites primarily belonged to pathways associated with inflammation or proinflammatory states,including amino acid,lipid,and nucleotide ***,these distinct metabolites were significantly associated with specific intestinal flora abundances(r=0.34–0.55),which were mainly involved in *** Higher PAH exposure in young children affected metabolic homeostasis,particularly that of certain gut microbiota-derived *** investigation is needed to explore the potential influence of PAHs on the gut microbiota and their possible association with neurodevelopmental outcomes.

BACKGROUND Frontline nurses in Wuhan directly fighting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 diseases are at a high risk of infection and are extremely susceptible to psychological stress,especially due to the global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** psychological after-effects of this public health emergency on frontline nurses will last for *** To assess factors influencing post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)among frontline nurses in Wuhan 6 mo after the COVID-19 pandemic *** A total of 757 frontline nurses from five hospitals in Wuhan,China,participated in an online survey from July 27 to August 13,*** cross-sectional online study used a demographic information questionnaire,the PTSD Checklist for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale,and the Patient Health *** chisquare test and logistic regression were used to analyze the association of demographics,COVID-19-related variables,and *** regression was also conducted to investigate which variables were associated with PTSD *** A total of 13.5%,24.3%,and 21.4%of the frontline nurses showed symptoms of PTSD,depression,and anxiety,*** multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the following factors were strongly associated with PTSD:Having a relative,friend,or colleague who died of COVID-19;experiencing stigma;or having psychological assistance needs,depressive symptoms or *** resilience and receiving praise after the COVID-19 outbreak were protective *** Frontline nurses still experienced PTSD(13.5%)six months after the COVID-19 outbreak *** support,social support,official recognition,reward mechanisms,exercise,better sleep,and timely provision of information(such as vaccine research progress)by the government via social media,and adequate protective supplies could mitigate the level of PTSD among nurses responding to CO

Hierarchical multihead self-attention for time-series-based fault diagnosis

Fault diagnosis is important for maintaining the safety and effectiveness of chemical *** the multivariate,nonlinear,and dynamic characteristic of chemical process,many time-series-based data-driven fault diagnosis methods have been developed in recent ***,the existing methods have the problem of long-term dependency and are difficult to train due to the sequential way of *** overcome these problems,a novel fault diagnosis method based on time-series and the hierarchical multihead self-attention(HMSAN)is proposed for chemical ***,a sliding window strategy is adopted to construct the normalized time-series ***,the HMSAN is developed to extract the time-relevant features from the time-series process *** improves the basic self-attention model in both width and *** the multihead structure,the HMSAN can pay attention to different aspects of the complicated chemical process and obtain the global dynamic ***,the multiple heads in parallel lead to redundant information,which cannot improve the diagnosis *** the hierarchical structure,the redundant information is reduced and the deep local time-related features are further ***,a novel many-to-one training strategy is introduced for HMSAN to simplify the training procedure and capture the long-term ***,the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by two chemical *** experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a great performance on time-series industrial data and outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches.

Alternating shear stress is a critical factor in the accumulation of damage during rolling contact fatigue,severely limiting the service life of ***,the specific mechanisms responsible for the cyclic shear fatigue damage in bearing steel have not been fully *** the mechanical response and microstructural evolution of a model GGr15 bearing steel under cyclic shear loading are investigated through the implementation of molecular dynamics *** samples undergo 30 cycles under three different loading conditions with strains of 6.2%,9.2%,and 12.2%,*** findings indicate that severe cyclic shear deformation results in early cyclic softening and significant accumulation of plastic damage in the bearing ***,samples subjected to higher strain-controlled loading exhibit higher plastic strain energy and shorter fatigue ***,strain localization is identified as the predominant damage mechanism in cyclic shear fatigue of the bearing steel,which accumulates and ultimately results in fatigue ***,simulation results also revealed the microstructural reasons for the strain localization(e.g.,BCC phase transformation into FCC and HCP phase),which well explained the formation of white etching *** study provides fresh atomic-scale insights into the mechanisms of cyclic shear fatigue damage in bearing steels.

Feasibility of medical radioisotope production based on the proton beams at China Spallation Neutron Source

The utilization of a proton beam from the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)for producing medical radioisotopes is appealing owing to its high current intensity and high *** medical isotope production based on the proton beam at the CSNS is significant for the development of future radiopharmaceuticals,particularly for theα-emitting *** production yield and activity of typical medical isotopes were estimated using the FLUKA *** results indicate that the 300-MeV proton beam with a power of 100 kW at CSNS-II is highly suitable for proof-of-principle studies of most medical *** particular,this proton beam offers tremendous advantages for the large-scale production of alpha radioisotopes,such as 225Ac,whose theoretical production yield can reach approximately 57 Ci/*** on these results,we provide perspectives on the use of CSNS proton beams to produce radioisotopes for medical applications.

The current research on the integrity of critical structures of rail vehicles mainly focuses on the design stage,which needs an effective method for assessing the service *** paper proposes a framework for predicting the remaining useful life(RUL)of in-service structures with and without visible *** hypothetical distribution and delay time models were used to apply the equivalent crack growth life data of heavy-duty railway cast steel knuckles,which revealed the evolution characteristics of the crack length and life scores of the knuckle under different fracture failure *** results indicate that the method effectively predicts the RUL of service knuckles in different failure modes based on the cumulative failure probability curves for different locations and surface crack *** study proposes an RUL prediction framework that supports the dynamic overhaul and state maintenance of knuckle fatigue cracks.

Mechanism of local solidification time variations with melt rate during vacuum arc remelting process of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel

A 2D axisymmetric numerical model was established to investigate the variations of molten pool with different melt rates during the vacuum arc remelting of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel,and the ingot growth was simulated by dynamic mesh *** results show that as the ingot grows,the molten pool profile changes from shallow and flat to V-shaped,and both the molten pool depth and the mushy width ***,the variation of both the molten pool shape and the mushy width melt rate is clarified by the thermal equilibrium *** melt rate increases,both the molten pool depth and the mushy width *** is caused by the increment in sensible heat stored in the ingot due to the limitation of the cooling capacity of the *** nonlinear increment in sensible heat leads to a nonlinear increase in the mushy *** addition,as melt rate increases,the local solidification time(LST)of ingot decreases obviously at first and then *** melt rate is controlled in a suitable range,LST is the lowest and the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the ingot is the smallest,which can effectively improve the compactness degree of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel.
