Co-electrolysis of CO_2 and H_2O in high-temperature solid oxide electrolysis cells: Recent advance in cathodes

Co-electrolysis of CO2and H2O using high-temperature solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs) into valuable chemicals has attracted great attentions recently due to the high conversion and energy efficiency,which provides opportunities of reducing CO2emission, mitigating global warming and storing intermittent renewable energies. A single SOEC typically consists of an ion conducting electrolyte, an anode and a cathode where the co-electrolysis reaction takes place. The high operating temperature and difficult activated carbon-oxygen double-bond of CO2put forward strict requirements for SOEC cathode. Great efforts are being devoted to develop suitable cathode materials with high catalytic activity and excellent long-term stability for CO2/H2O electro-reduction. The so far cathode material development is the key point of this review and alternative strategies of high-performance cathode material preparation is proposed. Understanding the mechanism of CO2/H2O electro-reduction is beneficial to highly active cathode design and optimization. Thus the possible reaction mechanism is also discussed. Especially, a method in combination with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) measurement, distribution functions of relaxation times(DRT) calculation, complex nonlinear least square(CNLS) fitting and operando ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(APXPS) characterization is introduced to correctly disclose the reaction mechanism of CO2/H2O co-electrolysis. Finally, different reaction modes of the CO2/H2O coelectrolysis in SOECs are summarized to offer new strategies to enhance the CO2conversion. Otherwise,developing SOECs operating at 300-600 °C can integrate the electrochemical reduction and the Fischer-Tropsch reaction to convert the CO2/H2O into more valuable chemicals, which will be a new research direction in the future.

Endostatin,a 20 kDa C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII,was first identified as a potent angiogenic inhibitor.The anti-angiogenic function of endostatin has been well documented during the past decade.Recently,several studies demonstrated that endostatin also inhibits tumor lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis.However,the exact mechanism that endostatin executes its anti-angiogenic and anti-lymphangiogenic functions remains elusive.In the current mini-review,we briefly summarize recent novel findings,including the functions of endostatin targeting not only angiogenesis but also lymphangiogenesis,and the underlying mechanism by which endostatin internalization regulates its biological functions.

70余年来,中欧关系的发展经历了从派生性走向独立性的过程。它既受到国际格局变化等体系性因素的影响,也受到突破国际结构的局限、基于自身需要独立发展关系的内在动力的驱使。中国从欧洲获取资本与技术来发展经济,推动改革开放;欧洲则通过贸易等方式在中国扩大市场,借助政治合作来影响中国的发展道路,进而扩大全球的影响力。双方互有所求,彼此借重,共同发展。在突破冷战格局到主动影响国际结构的互动中,中欧从伙伴关系走向“全面战略伙伴关系”,其独立性日益凸显。然而,在百年变局和世纪疫情的影响下,国际体系进入深度变革时期。随着欧盟对华认知发生重要变化,将中国定位为“谈判伙伴、经济竞争者和制度性对手”;美国“联欧制华”战略层层推进,在贸易、技术、安全等领域打压中国,中欧关系的发展面临竞争与冲突加剧的挑战。中国应深入认识和把握双方关系的内在动力和发展逻辑,保持战略自信和定力,积极开展对欧工作,进一步加强中欧关系的韧性。

What is already known about this topic?Among all food poisoning,poisonings caused by wild mushrooms containing amanitin toxins have the highest case fatality rate.Amanitin toxins can cause acute liver function damage,and symptoms of the poisoning can include vomiting and diarrhea in early stages and progressive liver damage 2–3 days later.What is added by this report?Before 2019,there were about 1–2 cases of wild mushroom containing amanitin toxins poisoning each year in Zhejiang Province.In 2019,10 cases were identified through disease investigation and toxin detection and biological identification in Shaoxing City,Zhejiang Province.All patients had a history of wild mushroom consumption.What are the implications for public health practice?In the summer,some people collect the wild mushrooms for consumption.In China,about 20 species of mushrooms can cause death,and most people lack the ability to identify which mushrooms are edible.To combat this,effective science popularization and prevention and control work will be able to reduce the occurrence of related poisoning events.

A new regional vegetation mapping method based on terrain-climate-remote sensing and its application on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

Understanding the impact of climate change on vegetation and its evolution trend requires long-term accurate data on regional vegetation types and their geographical distribution.Currently,land use and land cover types are mainly obtained based on remote sensing information.Little research has been conducted on remote sensing interpretation of vegetation types and their geographical distributions in terms of the comprehensive utilization of remote sensing,climate,and terrain.A new region vegetation mapping method based on terrain-climate-remote sensing was developed in this study,supported by the Google Earth Engine(GEE)and the random forest algorithm,which is a new generation of earth science data and analysis application platform,together with optimal vegetation mapping features obtained from the average impure reduction method and out-of-bag error value,using different information from remote sensing,climate,and terrain.This vegetation of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau with 10 m spatial resolution in 2020 was mapped,in terms of this new vegetation mapping method,Sentinel-2A/B remotely sensed images,climate,and terrain.The accuracy verification of vegetation mapping on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau showed an overall accuracy of 89.5%and a Kappa coefficient of 0.87.The results suggest that the regional vegetation mapping method based on terrain-climate-remote sensing proposed in this study can provide technical support for obtaining long-term accurate data on vegetation types and their geographical distributions on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the globe.

Hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride chitosan(HACC)and hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride fully deacetylated chitosan(De-HACC)were synthesized with various degrees of substitution by altering the ratio of chitosan to glycidyl trimethyl-ammonium chloride(GTMAC).The effects of the quaternary ammonium degree and the acetyl group of these polymers on immunostimulatory activities were detected in RAW 264.7 cells.The expression levels of nitrogen oxide(NO),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)were compared.Results show that the removal of acetyl groups in chitosan obviously improved the degree of substitution of quaternary ammonium salts.In addition,HACC and De-HACC were capable of promoting immunological activity in a substitution-dependent manner;HACC was positively correlated,and De-HACC was negatively correlated.Among tested ratios,HACC-30%and De-HACC-54%performed better than the others,and De-HACC-54%performed the best.Generally,quaternized chitosan possesses immunostimulatory activity,which is related to the degree of quaternization and the acetyl group.

On the basis of the satellite maps of sea level anomaly（MSLA） data and in situ tidal gauge sea level data,correlation analysis and empirical mode decomposition（EMD） are employed to investigate the applicability of MSLA data,sea level correlation,long-term sea level variability（SLV） trend,sea level rise（SLR） rate and its geographic distribution in the South China Sea（SCS）.The findings show that for Dongfang Station,Haikou Station,Shanwei Station and Zhapo Station,the minimum correlation coefficient between the closest MSLA grid point and tidal station is 0.61.This suggests that the satellite altimeter MSLA data are effective to observe the coastal SLV in the SCS.On the monthly scale,coastal SLV in the western and northern part of SCS are highly associated with coastal currents.On the seasonal scale,SLV of the coastal area in the western part of the SCS is still strongly influenced by the coastal current system in summer and winter.The Pacific change can affect the SCS mainly in winter rather than summer and the affected area mostly concentrated in the northeastern and eastern parts of the SCS.Overall,the average SLR in the SCS is 90.8 mm with a rising rate of（5.0±0.4） mm/a during1993–2010.The SLR rate from the southern Luzon Strait through the Huangyan Seamount area to the Xisha Islands area is higher than that of other areas of the SCS.
