Fermentation substrates of rice with different milling degrees(MDs) were prepared and fermented with human feces to compare their fermentation properties and effects on gut *** 0s,MD 5s and MD 60s represented brown rice,moderately-milled rice and white rice,*** in vitro fermentation,the MD 5s group showed higher starch utilization,compared with the MD 0s and 60s groups evaluated by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,and confocal laser scanning *** of fermentation substrates of rice with different MDs on gut microbiota were evaluated by 16S rDNA *** the sample groups reduced the pH and produced short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs) and branched-chain fatty *** MD 5s group exhibited higher α-diversity than the MD 0s and 60s *** of Phascolarctobacterium,Blautia and norank_f_Ruminococcaceae were higher in the MD 0s and 5s groups,compared with the MD 60s *** bacteria were also positively correlated with the SCFAs production via Spearman correlation *** vitro culture assay revealed that fermentation substrates of MD 0s and 5s promoted the growth of two probiotics(Akkermansia muciniphila and Bifidobacterium adolescentis).Our results showed that moderate milling might be an appropriate way to produce rice products with richer nutrients and better fermentation properties.

Unstructured and irregular graph data causes strong randomness and poor locality of data accesses in graph *** paper optimizes the depth-branch-resorting algorithm(DBR),and proposes a branch-alternation-resorting algorithm(BAR).In order to make the algorithm run in parallel and improve the efficiency of algorithm operation,the BAR algorithm is mapped onto the reconfigurable array processor(APR-16)to achieve vertex reordering,effectively improving the locality of graph *** paper validates the BAR algorithm on the GraphBIG framework,by utilizing the reordered dataset with BAR on breadth-first search(BFS),single source shortest paht(SSSP)and betweenness centrality(BC)algorithms for *** results show that compared with DBR and Corder algorithms,BAR can reduce execution time by up to 33.00%,and 51.00%*** terms of data movement,the BAR algorithm has a maximum reduction of 39.00%compared with the DBR algorithm and 29.66%compared with Corder *** terms of computational complexity,the BAR algorithm has a maximum reduction of 32.56%compared with DBR algorithm and53.05%compared with Corder algorithm.

The incorporation of dynamic covalent bonds into thermosets facilitates the reprocessing of polymer networks,thereby meeting the sustainable requirements for polymer ***,the mechanical properties of many materials often decline significantly upon reprocessing due to side reactions caused by harsh processing *** this work,we find that the aromatic dithiocarbamate bond can undergo dissociation under mild conditions without the need for a catalyst,enabling the efficient reprocessing of the corresponding *** a consequence,the mechanical properties of the polydithiourethane can be largely preserved after *** discovery of this dynamic chemistry is anticipated to broaden the potential for material design in dynamic covalent polymer networks.

Ground penetrating radar(GPR)is a vital non-destructive testing(NDT)technology that can be employed for detecting the backfill grouting of shield *** achieve intelligent analysis of GPR data and overcome the subjectivity of traditional data processing methods,the CatBoost&BO-TPE model was constructed for regressing the grouting thickness based on GPR waveforms.A full-scale model test and corresponding numerical simulations were carried out to collect GPR data at 400 and 900 MHz,with known backfill grouting *** model test helps address the limitation of not knowing the grout body condition in actual field *** data were then used to create machine learning *** method of feature selection was proposed based on the analysis of feature importance and the electromagnetic(EM)propagation law in *** research shows that:(1)the CatBoost&BO-TPE model exhibited outstanding performance in both experimental and numerical data,achieving R^(2)values of 0.9760,0.8971,0.8808,and 0.5437 for numerical data and test data at 400 and 900 *** outperformed extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)and random forest(RF)in terms of performance in the backfill grouting thickness regression;(2)compared with the full-waveform GPR data,the feature selection method proposed in this paper can promote the performance of the *** selected features within the 5–30 ns of the A-scan can yield the best performance for the model;(3)compared to GPR data at 900 MHz,GPR data at 400 MHz exhibited better performance in the CatBoost&BO-TPE *** indicates that the results of the machine learning model can provide feedback for the selection of GPR parameters;(4)the application results of the trained CatBoost&BO-TPE model in engineering are in line with the patterns observed through traditional processing methods,yet they demonstrate a more quantitative and objective nature compared to the traditional method.

Accumulating studies reveal that mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)promote skin wound healing mainly through the paracrine ***,one of the crucial paracrine mediators in wound healing,are cell-derived nanosized membranous vesicles containing diverse bioactive *** the potent ability of modulating skin cell behaviors,MSC-derived exosomes(MSC-Exos)are regarded as a promising nanomaterial for regenerative wound *** hostile conditions,MSC-Exos are efficient in protecting skin cells from severe damage and restoring their *** to recent studies,MSC-Exos possess remarkable pro-healing effects in a variety of skin wounds,typically resulting in increased wound closure,inhibited scar tissue formation,and better restoration of skin *** further enhance the therapeutic potential of MSC-Exos,the development of applicable pretreatment strategies and the optimization of exosome delivery are under intensive ***,we summarize current research progress of MSC-Exos for skin wound treatment,with an emphasis on the biological effects of these nanovesicles,the repair mechanisms,and future challenges in clinical translation.

Silicon carbide fiber reinforced silicon carbide matrix(SiC_(f)/SiC)composite is the key cladding material of nuclear fuel,which determines the safety and reliability of nuclear fuel storage and *** replacement of its storage and transportation scenario needs to be completed by the manipulator,but the application of SiC_(f)/SiC wear,fracture,and nuclear leakage in the snatching process of brittle-flexible-rigid contact in the irradiation environment has been seriously restricted due to unclear understanding of the damage ***,the effects of irradiation dose and clamping load on the friction characteristics of the contact interface between SiC_(f)/SiC clad tube are studied in this paper,and the effects of irradiation parameters and clamping force on the static friction coefficient of the contact interface between the clad tube and flexible nitrile are *** on the Greenwood-Williamson tribological model,a numerical model of the shape and structure of the contact micro-convex at the micro-scale of the clamping interface is constructed by introducing the multi-surface integral,and finally verified by *** research results show that there is a unique“Irradiation suppression zone”under the clamping condition of SiC_(f)/SiC cladding tube under the nuclear irradiation environment,and the growth of static friction coefficient slows down until stagnates after irradiation reaches a certain extent(600 kGy),and there will be a decline when the irradiation dose continues to increase,among which the clamping force of 15.2 N within the irradiation interval of 1,000 kGy can meet the safety of nuclear environment *** results of this paper can provide an important theoretical basis and application guidance for the safe operation of SiC_(f)/SiC cladding tubes in the storage and transportation clamping process.

Graphene effectively activating "dead" water molecules between manganese dioxide layers in potassium-ion battery

Aqueous potassium-ion batteries(APIBs),recognized as safe and reliable new energy devices,are considered as one of the alternatives to traditional *** MnO_(2),serving as the main cathode,exhibits a lower specific capacity in aqueous electrolytes compared to organic systems and operates through a different reaction *** application of highly conductive graphene may effectively enhance the capacity of APIBs but could complicate the potassium storage *** this study,a MnO_(2) cathode pre-intercalated with K~+ions and grown on graphene(KMO@rGO) was developed using the microwave hydrothermal method for ***@rGO achieved a specific capacity of 90 mA h g^(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g^(-1),maintaining a capacity retention rate of>90% after 5000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).In-situ and exsitu characterization techniques revealed the energy-storage mechanism of KMO@rGO:layered MnO_(2)traps a large amount of "dead" water molecules during K~+ions ***,the introduction of graphene enables these water molecules to escape during K~+ ions insertion at the *** galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and density functional theory confirmed that KMO@rGO has a higher K~+ions migration rate than MnO_(2).Therefore,the capacity of this cathode depends on the interaction between dead water and K~+ions during the energy-storage *** optimal structural alignment between layered MnO_(2) and graphene allows electrons to easily flow into the external *** charge compensation forces numerous low-solvent K~+ions to displace interlayer dead water,enhancing the *** unique reaction mechanism is unprecedented in other aqueous battery studies.

Elemene, derived from Curcuma wenyujin, one of the "8 famous genuine medicinal materials of Zhejiang province," exhibits remarkable antitumor activity. It has gained wide recognition in clinical practice for effectiveness on tumors. Dr. xie Tian introduced the innovative concept of "molecular compatibility theory" by combining Chinese medicine principles, specifically the "monarch, minister, assistant, and envoy" theory, with modern biomedical technology. This groundbreaking approach, along with a systematic analysis of Chinese medicine and modern biomedical knowledge, led to the development of elemene nanoliposome formulations. These novel formulations offer numerous advantages, including low toxicity, well-defined composition, synergistic effects on multiple targets, and excellent biocompatibility. Following the principles of the "molecular compatibility theory", further exploration of cancer treatment strategies and methods based on elemene was undertaken. This comprehensive review consolidates the current understanding of elemene's potential antitumor mechanisms, recent clinical investigations, advancements in drug delivery systems, and structural modifications. The ultimate goal of this review is to establish a solid theoretical foundation for researchers, empowering them to develop more effective antitumor drugs based on the principles of "molecular compatibility theory".

Cancer cell spheroids(CCS) are a valuable three-dimensional cell model in cancer studies because they could replicate numerous characteristics of solid tumors. Increasing researches have used matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging(MALDI-MSI) to investigate the spatial distribution of endogenous compounds(e.g., lipids) in CCS. However, only limited lipid species can be detected owing to a low ion yield by using MALDI. Besides, it is still challenging to fully characterize the structural diversity of lipids due to the existence of isomeric/isobaric species. Here, we carried out the initial application of MALDI coupled with laser-postionization(MALDI-2) and trapped ion mobility spectrometry(TIMS) imaging in HCT116 colon CCS to address these challenges. We demonstrated that MALDI-2 is capable of detecting more number and classes of lipids in HCT116 colon CCS with higher signal intensities than MALDI. TIMS could successfully separate numerous isobaric/isomeric species of lipids in CCS. Interestingly, we found that some isomeric/isobaric species have totally different spatial distributions in colon CCS. Further MS/MS imaging analysis was employed to determine the compositions of fatty acid chains for isomeric species by examining disparities in signal intensities and spatial distributions of product ions. This work stresses the robust ability of TIMS and MALDI-2 imaging in analyzing endogenous lipids in CCS, which could potentially become powerful tools for future cancer studies.
