Anew mixed alkali and alkaline-earth metal borate Na4Ca2[B14O22(OH)6]·2H2O(1) has been made under a mild solvothermal condition and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared(IR) spectroscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. Compound 1 features a 1D tube based on[B14O24(OH)6]12-({B14}-1) oxo-boron clusters. Such a tube built by {B14}-1 units has been discovered for the first time in borate system. These tubes are arranged orderly to generate 2D layers and a further 3D supramolecular network through hydrogen bond interactions. UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrum reveals that compound 1 is a wide band-gap semiconductor and has potential application in UV region.

Bulked Segregant Analysis to Detect QTL Related to Heat Tolerance in Rice(Oryza sativa L.) Using SSR Markers

The study was undertaken to assess the genetic effect of quantitative trait loci （QTLs） conferring heat tolerance at flowering stage in rice. A population consisting of 279 F2 individuals from the cross between 996, a heat tolerant cultivar and 4628, a heat-sensitive cultivar, was analyzed for their segregation pattern of the difference of seed set rate under optimal temperature condition and high temperature condition. The difference of seed set rate under optimal temperature condition and high temperature condition showed normal distribution, indicating the polygenic control over the trait. To identify main effect of QTL for heat tolerance, the parents were surveyed with 200 primer pairs of simple sequence repeats （SSR）. The parental survey revealed 30% polymorphism between parents. In order to detect the main QTL association with heat tolerance, a strategy of combining the DNA pooling from selected segregants and genotyping was adopted. The association of putative markers identified based on DNA pooling from selected segregants was established by single marker analysis （SMA）. The results of SMA revealed that SSR markers, RM3735 on chromosome 4 and RM3586 on chromosome 3 showed significant association with heat tolerance respectively, accounted for 17 and 3% of the total variation respectively. The heat tolerance during flowering stage in rice was controlled by multiple gene. The SSR markers, RM3735 on chromosome 4 and RM3586 on chromosome 3 showed significant association with heat tolerance respectively, accounted for 17 and 3% of the total variation respectively. The two genetic loci, especially for RM3735 on chromosome 4, can be used in marker-assistant-selected method in heat tolerance breeding in rice.

Objective: To examine the effect of pSer9-GSK-3β on breast cancer and to determine whether the underlying metabolic and immunological mechanism is associated with ROS/eIF2B and natural killer(NK) ***: We employed TWS119 to inactivate GSK-3β by phosphorylating Ser9 and explored its effect on breast cancer and NK cells. The expression of GSK-3β, natural killer group 2 member D(NKG2D) ligands, eIF2B was quantified by PCR and Western blot. We measured intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial ROS using DCFH-DA and MitoSOX^(TM) probe,respectively, and conducted quantitative analysis of cellular respiration on 4T1 cells with mitochondrial respiratory chain complex Ⅰ/Ⅲ ***: Our investigation revealed that TWS119 downregulated NKG2D ligands(H60 a and Rae1), suppressed the cytotoxicity of NK cells, and promoted the migration of 4T1 murine breast cancer cells. Nevertheless, LY290042, which attenuates p-GSK-3β formation by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt pathway, reversed these effects. We also found that higher expression of p Ser9-GSK-3β induced higher levels of ROS, and observed that abnormality of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex Ⅰ/Ⅲ function induced the dysfunction of GSK-3β-induced electron transport chain, naturally disturbing the ROS level. In addition, the expression of NOX3 and NOX4 was significantly up-regulated, which affected the generation of ROS and associated with the metastasis of breast cancer. Furthermore, we found that the expression of pSer535-eIF2B promoted the expression of NKG2D ligands(Mult-1 and Rae1) following by expression of pSer9-GSK-3β and generation of ***: The PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β/ROS/eIF2B pathway could regulate NK cell activity and sensitivity of tumor cells to NK cells,which resulted in breast cancer growth and lung metastasis. Thus, GSK-3β is a promising target of anti-tumor therapy.

In order to expand the advantages of strong durability and high compressive strength of calcium silicate hydrates(C-S-H),at the same time to make up for the poor early mechanical strength of magnesium silicate hydrates (M-S-H),we present the features and advantages of C-S-H and M-S-H and a comprehensive review of the progress on CaO-MgO-SiO_(2)-H_(2)***,we systematically describe natural calcium and magnesium silicate minerals and thermodynamic properties of CaO-MgO-SiO_(2)-H_(2)*** effect of magnesium on C-S-H and calcium on M-S-H is summarized deeply;the formation and structural feature of CaO-MgO-SiO_(2)-H_(2)O is also explained in ***,the development of calcium and magnesium silicate hydrates in the future is pointed out,and the further research is discussed and estimated.

Under a warming climate,degrading permafrost profoundly and extensively affects arctic and alpine ***,most existing relevant studies are more focused on the hydrothermal impacts of vegetation on the underlying permafrost,or symbiosis between vegetation and permafrost,only very few on ecological impacts of permafrost ***,there are much more pertinent investigations in arctic and boreal regions than those in alpine and high-plateau regions at mid-and low *** study emphasizes on the impact mechanisms of permafrost degradation on vegetation both at high and mid-to low latitudes,addressing vegetation succession trajectories and associated changes in soil hydrology and soil nutrient above degrading *** degradation influences vegetation by altering soil hydrology,soil biogeochemical processes and microbial communities,which further improve soil nutrient ***,under a warming climate,vegetation may take two successional trajectories,towards a wetter or drier ecosystem within a certain time period,but to a drier ecosystem in the end upon the thaw of permafrost in case of permeable soils and good ***,with rapidly developing remote-sensing and other space-and ground-based and air-borne observational networks and numerical predictive models,the impacting mechanisms of permafrost degradation on vegetation should be timely and better monitored,evaluated and modeled at desired spatiotemporal scales and resolutions by terrestrial or integrated ecosystem models.

The prediction of two-dimensional molecular self-assembly structures has always been a problem to be *** molecules with meta-dicarboxyl groups can self-assemble into a specific hexagonal cavity,which has an important influence on the prediction of molecular self-assembly structures and the application of functional molecules with meta-dicarboxyl *** kinds of molecules with four pairs of meta-dicarboxyl groups,1,3,6,8-tet「akis(3,5-isophthalic acid)pyrene(H_(8)TIAPy)and 4′,4′",4′"",4""-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl)tetrakis(([1,1′-biphenyl]-3,5-dicarboxylic acid))(H8ETTB)molecules were chosen to observe the self-assembly behavior at the heptanoic acid/highly oriented pyrolytic graphite(HA/HOPG)interface.H8TIAPy molecules self-assembled into well-ordered quadrilateral structures and could be regulated into kagome networks with hexagonal pores by coronene(COR)molecules.H8ETTB molecules self-assembled into lamellar structures and transformed into acid-COR-acid-COR co-assembled structures at low concentration of COR solution and acid-COR dimer-acid-COR dimer co-assembled structures at high concentration of COR *** reason that H8ETTB molecules could not be regulated into hexagonal porous architecture was attributed to the steric hindrance by the similar length and width of H8ETTB *** H8ETTB templates had stronger adsorption for COR than that of hexaphenylbenzene(HPB),regardless of the order of molecular introduction.

Episodic Paleozoic Adakitic Magmatism in the Eastern Tianshan,Southern Altaids:Implications for Petrogenesis and Geodynamics

The adakites rocks are typically considered as direct diagnostic evidence for subduction and continental growth,as well as the important evidence to determine the location of the major oceanic basin and evolution history of lost oceanic basins,which are longstanding conundrums for understanding the tectonics of the Paleo-Asian Ocean(PAO).As the processor of the Altaids,the PAO was a long-lived ocean,and its multiple subductions led to substantial continental growth in the Central Asian *** we report our newly discovered Paleozoic adakitic rocks(granite and dacite)developed in Jijitaizi in the Eastern Tianshan of the southern Altaids to address the above *** Jijitaizi granite and dacite contain high concentrations of Sr(203-343 ppm)and low concentrations of Y(3.00-6.36 ppm)and Yb(0.23-0.62 ppm),indicative of the adakitic *** U-Pb dating results show that the adakitic rocks were formed in three episodes at 372.26±1.51 Ma,356.02±1.11 Ma and 334.51±0.68 Ma from the Late Devonian to *** rocks are depleted in Nb,P and Ti,and possess variable Mg#values(28.51-57.22),high Na_(2)O/K_(2)O ratios(1.39-4.94),as well as relatively depleted Hf isotopic compositions,all of which point to a subduction origin from slab *** new finding with the date from the Jijitaizi complex(ca.321 Ma)suggests continuing subduction of the Paleo-Asian oceanic slab beneath the Central Tianshan from the Late Devonian to *** work provides a solid line of key evidence demonstrating that continuous oceanic subduction of the major PAO evolved into its mature stage following subducting beneath the Central Tianshan from ca.372 to 321 Ma.
