Magnetically actuated mobile robots demonstrate attractive advantages in various medical applications due to their wireless and programmable executions with tiny sizes. Confronted with complex application scenarios, however, it requires more flexible and adaptive deployment and utilization methods to fully exploit the functionalities brought by magnetic robots. Herein, we report a design and utilization strategy of magnetic soft robots using a mixture of magnetic particles and non-Newtonian fluidic soft materials to produce programmable, hardened, adhesive, reconfigurable soft robots. For deployment, their ultrasoft structure and adhesion enable them to be spread on various surfaces, achieving magnetic actuation empowerment. The reported technology can potentially improve the functionality of robotic end-effectors and functional surfaces. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed robots could help to grasp and actuate objects 300 times heavier than their weight. Furthermore, it is the first time we have enhanced the stiffness of mechanical structures for these soft materials by on-demand programmable hardening, enabling the robots to maximize force outputs. These findings offer a promising path to understanding, designing, and leveraging magnetic robots for more powerful applications.

This paper presents the design of a vision-based automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.A novel visual recognition algorithm based on an automatic threshold and excessive dilatation is introduced to accurately identify the center of zebrafish embryos and larval yolks.A corresponding software system is developed using the producer-consumer model as the framework structure,and a friendly user interface is designed to allow operators to choose from a range of desired functions according to their different *** addition,a novel microstructural agarose device is designed and fabricated to simultaneously immobilize mixed batches of embryos and ***,a prototype microinjection system is fabricated by integrating hardware devices with visual *** experimental study is conducted to verify the performance of the robotic microinjection *** results show that the reported system can accurately identify zebrafish embryos and larvae and efficiently complete batch microinjection tasks of the mixtures with an injection success rate of 92.05%in 13.88 s per *** with manual and existing microinjection systems,the proposed system demonstrates the merits of versatility,excellent efficiency,high success rate,high survival rate,and sufficient stability.

Background Grasslands in drylands are increasingly influenced by human activities and climate change, leading to alterations in albedo and radiative energy balance among others. Surface biophysical properties and their interactions change greatly following disturbances. However, our understanding of these processes and their climatic impacts remains limited. In this study, we used multi-year observations from satellites and eddy-covariance towers to investigate the response of albedo to variables closely associated with human disturbances, including vegetation greenness（EVI） and surface soil volumetric water content（VWC）, as well as snow cover and clearness index（Ta） for their potential *** EVI and VWC during the growing season were the primary factors influencing albedo. EVI and VWC were negatively correlated with albedo, with VWC's total direct and indirect impacts being slightly smaller than those of EVI. During the non-growing season, snow cover was the most influential factor on albedo. VWC and Ta negatively affected albedo throughout the year. We estimated the impact of variations in EVI and VWC on climate to be in the range of 0.004 to 0.113 kg CO2m-2yr-1in *** This study indicates the significant impacts of climate change and human disturbances on vulnerable grassland ecosystems from the perspective of altered albedo. Changes in vegetation greenness and soil properties induced by climate change and human activities may have a substantial impact on albedo, which in turn feedback on climate change, indicating that future climate policies should take this factor into consideration.

Analog feature extraction(AFE)is an appealing strategy for low-latency and efficient cognitive sensing systems since key features are much sparser than the nyquist-sampled ***,applying AFE to broadband radio-frequency(RF)scenarios is challenging due to the bandwidth and programmability bottlenecks of analog electronic ***,we introduce a photonics-based scheme that extracts spatiotemporal features from broadband RF signals in the analog *** feature extractor structure inspired by convolutional neural networks is implemented on integrated photonic circuits to process RF signals from multiple antennas,extracting valid features from both temporal and spatial *** of the tunability of the photonic devices,the photonic spatiotemporal feature extractor is trainable,which enhances the validity of the extracted ***,a digital-analog-hybrid transfer learning method is proposed for the effective and low-cost training of the photonic feature *** validate our scheme,we demonstrate a radar target recognition task with a 4-GHz instantaneous *** results indicate that the photonic analog feature extractor tackles broadband RF signals and reduces the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converters to 1/4 of the nyquist sampling while maintaining a high target recognition accuracy of 97.5%.Our scheme offers a promising path for exploiting the AFE strategy in the realm of cognitive RF sensing,with the potential to contribute to the efficient signal processing involved in applications such as autonomous driving,robotics,and smart factories.

In this study, the effect of extreme laser fields on the α decay process of ground-state even–even nuclei was *** the deformed Gamow-like model, we found that state-of-the-art lasers can cause a slight change in the α decay penetration probability of most nuclei. In addition, we studied the correlation between the rate of change of the α decay penetration probability and angle between the directions of the laser electric field and α particle emission for different nuclei. Based on this correlation, the average effect of extreme laser fields on the half-life of many nuclei with arbitrary α particle emission angles was calculated. The calculations show that the laser suppression and promotion effects on the α decay penetration probability of the nuclei population with completely random α particle-emission directions are not completely *** remainder led to a change in the average penetration probability of the nuclei. Furthermore, the possibility of achieving a higher average rate of change by altering the spatial shape of the laser is explored. We conclude that circularly polarized lasers may be helpful in future experiments to achieve a more significant average rate of change of the α decay half-life of the nuclei population.

Colorectal carcinoma(CRC),the third most commonly diagnosed cancer,accounts for 9.7%of all newly diagnosed cancer cases and 9.4%of cancer-related deaths globally.1 Recent studies have demonstrated that post-transcriptional RNA modifications,such as N^(6)-methyladenosine,N^(5)-methylcytosine,and N^(7)-methylguanosine,play critical roles in the regulation of mRNA stability and translation,primary microRNA processing,and lncRNA-protein complex that contributes to the progression of human cancer.
