Evolution of inclusions in vacuum induction melting of superalloys containing 70%return material

The variation law of inclusions type and size in the vacuum induction melting process and ingot of Ni-based superalloy containing 70%return material was studied by industrial test sampling,and the mechanism of inclusions formation was analyzed with thermodynamic calculations.The results show that there are mainly two types of composite inclusions in the vacuum induction melting of Ni-based superalloys,which are nitride-and oxide-based composite inclusions,like Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-Cr_(2)O_(3),TiN-(Mo,Nb)C,etc.The type and proportion of inclusions from the center to the edge of the vacuum induction ingot did not change significantly.The number density of inclusions from the center to the edge of the ingot varied less,and the size of inclusions became smaller from the center to the edge.In addition,thermodynamic calculations show that oxides(M_(2)O_(3))are present in the liquid phase and mainly contain Al,Ti,Cr,Fe and O elements.The nitride consists mainly of Ti and N and contains small amounts of Cr,C,Nb,and Mo elements.This is consistent with the results of industrial tests.As the temperature decreases,the precipitation phases such as M_(2)O_(3),MN,γ,MC,δ,γ'andμphases are gradually precipitated,where oxides and nitrides are present in the liquid phase.The contents of O and N elements are the main influencing factors for the inclusions content and precipitation temperature;when the nitrogen content is reduced to below 0.0015%,it can make MN precipitate below the liquid-phase line.

In this paper, we consider a susceptible-infective-susceptible(SIS) reaction-diffusion epidemic model with spontaneous infection and logistic source in a periodically evolving domain. Using the iterative technique,the uniform boundedness of solution is established. In addition, the spatial-temporal risk index R0(ρ) depending on the domain evolution rate ρ(t) as well as its analytical properties are discussed. The monotonicity of R0(ρ)with respect to the diffusion coefficients of the infected dI, the spontaneous infection rate η(ρ(t)y) and interval length L is investigated under appropriate conditions. Further, the existence and asymptotic behavior of periodic endemic equilibria are explored by upper and lower solution method. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our analytical results. Our results provide valuable information for disease control and prevention.

This paper presents the design of a vision-based automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.A novel visual recognition algorithm based on an automatic threshold and excessive dilatation is introduced to accurately identify the center of zebrafish embryos and larval yolks.A corresponding software system is developed using the producer-consumer model as the framework structure,and a friendly user interface is designed to allow operators to choose from a range of desired functions according to their different needs.In addition,a novel microstructural agarose device is designed and fabricated to simultaneously immobilize mixed batches of embryos and larvae.Moreover,a prototype microinjection system is fabricated by integrating hardware devices with visual algorithms.An experimental study is conducted to verify the performance of the robotic microinjection system.The results show that the reported system can accurately identify zebrafish embryos and larvae and efficiently complete batch microinjection tasks of the mixtures with an injection success rate of 92.05%in 13.88 s per sample.Compared with manual and existing microinjection systems,the proposed system demonstrates the merits of versatility,excellent efficiency,high success rate,high survival rate,and sufficient stability.

Research data infrastructures form the cornerstone in both cyber and physical spaces,driving the progression of the data-intensive scientific research paradigm.This opinion paper presents an overview of global research data infrastructure,drawing insights from national roadmaps and strategic documents related to research data infrastructure.It emphasizes the pivotal role of research data infrastructures by delineating four new missions aimed at positioning them at the core of the current scientific research and communication ecosystem.The four new missions of research data infrastructures are:(1)as a pioneer,to transcend the disciplinary border and address complex,cutting-edge scientific and social challenges with problem-and data-oriented insights;(2)as an architect,to establish a digital,intelligent,flexible research and knowledge services environment;(3)as a platform,to foster the high-end academic communication;(4)as a coordinator,to balance scientific openness with ethics needs.

Sludge composition and characteristics shaped microbial community and further determined process performance: A study on full-scale thermal hydrolysis-anaerobic digestion processes

Anaerobic digestion (AD) with thermal hydrolysis (TH) pretreatment is a promising process for excess sludge treatment,while there lacks of the knowledge from full-scale process about the impact of sludge composition and characteristics on microbial community and performance.The sludge physiochemical indices,microbial community and performance data of four full-scale TH-AD plants were characterized,and their relationships was elucidated.The four plants were operated under almost similar total organic loading rate (OLR)but their methanogenesis performance differentiate into two groups,namely superior group(SupG) and the inferior group (Inf G).In both groups,TH effectively solubilized particulate organic compounds,meanwhile raised the ammonia nitrogen (NH_(4)^(+)-N) and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration.Compared with the Sup G,thermal hydrolyzed sludge of Inf G had higher level of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and total chemical oxygen demand (t COD),which showed higher inhibition effect on microbes,leading to a community with lower diversity,lower abundance of carbohydrate degrading functional guild,higher protein degrading one,and methanogens that adapted to limited substrates,and further declined the methane production rate.Thus,it was recommended that OLR alone was not sufficient for controlling the system in design and operation,the concentration of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and t COD should be equally considered.Their higher concentration,together with the higher abundance of Defluviitoga and Proteiniphilum were recommended as indicators for inferior running condition.Our results proposed that microbial communities played a role of bridge between environmental factors and performance,provided implications for engineering ecology and operational regulation for full-scale sludge TH-AD process.

The snap-through behaviors and nonlinear vibrations are investigated for a bistable composite laminated cantilever shell subjected to transversal foundation excitation based on experimental and theoretical approaches.An improved experimental specimen is designed in order to satisfy the cantilever support boundary condition,which is composed of an asymmetric region and a symmetric region.The symmetric region of the experimental specimen is entirely clamped,which is rigidly connected to an electromagnetic shaker,while the asymmetric region remains free of constraint.Different motion paths are realized for the bistable cantilever shell by changing the input signal levels of the electromagnetic shaker,and the displacement responses of the shell are collected by the laser displacement sensors.The numerical simulation is conducted based on the established theoretical model of the bistable composite laminated cantilever shell,and an off-axis three-dimensional dynamic snap-through domain is obtained.The numerical solutions are in good agreement with the experimental results.The nonlinear stiffness characteristics,dynamic snap-through domain,and chaos and bifurcation behaviors of the shell are quantitatively analyzed.Due to the asymmetry of the boundary condition and the shell,the upper stable-state of the shell exhibits an obvious soft spring stiffness characteristic,and the lower stable-state shows a linear stiffness characteristic of the shell.

As the chemical industry grapples with the need for more eco-friendly practices,the use of water as a reaction medium is gaining attraction in organic transformations.This mini-review delves into Pd-catalyzed reactions that utilize the "on-water" mechanism,spanning from 2019 to late 2023.These reactions are neatly categorized into several types: (A) Catalytic C—H activations,(B) Mizoroki- Heck-type reactions,(C) Suzuki-Miyaura reactions,and (D) Cyclization reactions.By showcasing the potential of water as a sustainable reaction medium for organic transformations,these reactions leave no doubt about the importance of embracing eco-friendly practices in the chemical industry.Key Scientists In 1980,a seminal work by Breslow et al.showed an acceleration of reaction rate in the Diels-Alder reaction.Sharpless and co-workers noted a significant increase in the rate of the [2σ+2σ+2π] cycloaddition of quadricyclane and dimethyl azodicarboxylate (DMAD) when the reaction was conducted in water,as opposed to when it was carried out in organic solvents.The term "on-water" was then coined to describe this phenomenon.This strategy was further expanded to transition-metal catalyzed transformations by Ackermann in 2011.Later,Varma and Leazer disclosed a Pd-catalyzed Mizoroki-Heck type arylation of alkenes with diaryliodonium salts “on-water”.The enantioselective version of "on-water" process was not realized until 2014 by the Zhou group.Later on,the Schaub group described a Pd-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction of electron-poor aryl chlorides with water,using only 50 ppm of catalyst loading.Very recently,Liu and Lin extended the "on-water" strategy to Pd-catalyzed double Mizoroki-Heck reactions.This mini-review has focused on Pd-catalyzed reactions involving the “on-water” mechanism.

This paper studies the privacy-preserving distributed economic dispatch(DED)problem of smart grids.An autonomous consensus-based algorithm is developed via local data exchange with neighboring nodes,which covers both the islanded mode and the grid-connected mode of smart grids.To prevent power-sensitive information from being disclosed,a privacy-preserving mechanism is integrated into the proposed DED algorithm by randomly decomposing the state into two parts,where only partial data is transmitted.Our objective is to develop a privacy-preserving DED algorithm to achieve optimal power dispatch with the lowest generation cost under physical constraints while preventing sensitive information from being eavesdropped.To this end,a comprehensive analysis framework is established to ensure that the proposed algorithm can converge to the optimal solution of the concerned optimization problem by means of the consensus theory and the eigenvalue perturbation approach.In particular,the proposed autonomous algorithm can achieve a smooth transition between the islanded mode and the grid-connected mode.Furthermore,rigorous analysis is given to show privacy-preserving performance against internal and external eavesdroppers.Finally,case studies illustrate the feasibility and validity of the developed algorithm.

A Practical Approach for Missing Wireless Sensor Networks Data Recovery

In wireless sensor networks(WSNs),the performance of related applications is highly dependent on the quality of data collected.Unfortunately,missing data is almost inevitable in the process of data acquisition and transmission.Existing methods often rely on prior information such as low-rank characteristics or spatiotemporal correlation when recovering missing WSNs data.However,in realistic application scenarios,it is very difficult to obtain these prior information from incomplete data sets.Therefore,we aim to recover the missing WSNs data effectively while getting rid of the perplexity of prior information.By designing the corresponding measurement matrix that can capture the position of missing data and sparse representation matrix,a compressive sensing(CS)based missing data recovery model is established.Then,we design a comparison standard to select the best sparse representation basis and introduce average cross-correlation to examine the rationality of the established model.Furthermore,an improved fast matching pursuit algorithm is proposed to solve the model.Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively recover the missing WSNs data.
