Lightweight high-strength and tough composites have enormous potentials in a multitude of fields in-cluding biomaterials,sporting goods,aerospace and automobile ***,we present a strat-egy to develop a novel bulk Al/SiC composite with a nacre/foam hybrid structure to combine excellent lightweight of foams with outstanding strength and toughness of *** reduce the adverse effect of foam pores on mechanical properties,we further propose to strengthen the foams with 3D nanofiber networks,obtaining a nacre/nanofiber reinforced foam ***,new particle-bubble co-assembly and selective infiltration technologies are proposed to prepare the novel nacre/foam and nacre/nanofiber reinforced foam *** nacre/nanofiber reinforced foam composite shows greater specific strength and toughness than the nacre/foam composite,conventional dense Al/SiC composites and many engineering *** approach opens a promising new avenue for the structure design and manufacturing of lightweight,high-performance structural materials.

Dynamics analysis of chaotic circuit with two memristors

Based on Chua’s chaotic oscillation circuit, a fifth-order chaotic circuit with two memristors is designed and its corresponding dimensionless mathematic model is established. By using conventional dynamical analysis methods, stability analysis of the equilibrium set of the circuit is performed, the distribution of stable and unstable regions corresponding to the memristor initial states is achieved, and the complex dynamical behaviors of the circuit depending on the circuit parameters and the memristor initial states are investigated. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed chaotic circuit with two memristors has an equilibrium set located on the plane constituted by the inner state variables of two memristors. The stability of the equilibrium set depends on both the circuit parameters and the initial states of the two memristors. Rich nonlinear dynamical phenomena, such as state transitions, transient hyperchaos and so on, are expected.

CuO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via a two-jet electrospun method,and then screen-printed on silver-carbon electrodes,forming CuO-modified Ag-C （CuO/Ag-C） disposable strip *** natural environment condition for glucose detection,the obtained CuO/Ag-C electrodes show a high sensitivity of 540 nA·mM-1·cm-2,and a low limit of detection （0.68 mM） in a wide linear response range of 0.68 mM and 3 mM （signal/noise=3）,*** addition,the CuO/Ag-C electrodes also exhibit excellent anti-interference,air stability and *** a result,the fabrication of CuO nanoparticles via an electrospun process and the technique of screen-printed electrodes are of great significance for glucose detection.

Fast and accurate P-wave arrival picking significantly affects the performance of earthquake early warning(EEW)*** P-wave picking algorithms used in EEW have encountered problems of falsely picking up noise,missing P-waves and inaccurate P-wave arrival *** address these issues,an automatic algorithm based on the convolution neural network(DPick)was developed,and trained with a moderate number of data sets of 17,717 *** to the widely used approach of the short-term average/long-term average of signal characteristic function(STA/LTA),DPick is 1.6 times less likely to detect noise as a P-wave,and 76 times less likely to miss *** terms of estimating P-wave arrival time,when the detection task is completed within 1 s,DPick′s detection occurrence is 7.4 times that of STA/LTA in the 0.05 s error band,and 1.6 times when the error band is 0.10 *** verified that the proposed method has the potential for wide applications in EEW.

In recent years, advanced control technologies have been used for the optimum control of a cold storage. But there are still a lot of shortcomings. One of the main problems is that the traditional methods can't realize the on-line predictive optimum control of a refrigerating system with simple and valid algorithms. An RBF neural network has a strong ability in nonlinear mapping, a good interpolating value performance, and a higher training speed. Thus a two-stage RBF neural network is proposed in this paper. Combining the measured values with the predicted values, the two-stage RBF neural network is used for the on-line predictive optimum control of the cold storage temperature. The application results of the new methods show a great success.

Today’s era of big data is witnessing a gradual increase in the amount of data,more correlations between data,as well as growth in their spatial *** linear statistical models applied to mineral prospectivity mapping(MPM)perform poorly because of the random and nonlinear nature of metallogenic *** overcome this performance degradation,deep learning models have been introduced in 3 D *** this study,taking the Huayuan sedimentary Mn deposit in Hunan Province as an example,we construct a 3 D digital model of this deposit based on the prospectivity model of the study *** this approach,3 D predictor layers are converted from the conceptual model and employed in a 3 D convolutional neural network(3 D CNN).The characteristics of the spatial distribution are extracted by the 3 D ***,we divide the 22 extracted ore-controlling variables into six groups for contrast experiments based on various combinations and further apply the 3 D CNN model and weight of evidence(WofE)method on each *** predictive model is trained on the basis of the coupling correlation between the spatial distributions of the variables and the underground occurrence space of the Mn orebodies,and the correlation between different ore-controlling *** analysis of 12 factors indicates that the 3 D CNN model performs well in the 3 D MPM,achieving a promising accuracy of up to 100%and a loss value below 0.001.A comparison shows that the 3 D CNN model outperforms the WofE model in terms of predictive evaluation indexes,namely the success rate and ore-controlling *** particular,the 1–12 ore-controlling factors selected in experiment 5 provide a significantly better prediction effect than the other ***,we conclude that the Mn deposit in the study area is not only related to the stratum and interlaminar anomalous bodies but also to the spatial distribution of the *** experimental results confirm that the proposed 3 D CNN is prom

A novel method is proposed to combine the wall-modeled large-eddy simulation(LES) with the diffuse-interface direct-forcing immersed boundary(IB) *** new developments in this method include:(i) the momentum equation is integrated along the wall-normal direction to link the tangential component of the effective body force for the IB method to the wall shear stress predicted by the wall model;(ii) a set of Lagrangian points near the wall are introduced to compute the normal component of the effective body force for the IB method by reconstructing the normal component of the velocity. This novel method will be a classical direct-forcing IB method if the grid is fine enough to resolve the flow near the wall. The method is used to simulate the flows around the DARPA SUBOFF model. The results obtained are well comparable to the measured experimental data and wall-resolved LES results.

Improved SLIC Segmentation Algorithm for Artificial Structure Images

Simple linear iterative cluster(SLIC) is widely used because controllable superpixel number, accurate edge covering, symmetrical production and fast speed of calculation. The main problem of the SLIC algorithm is its under-segmentation when applied to segment artificial structure images with unobvious boundaries and narrow regions. Therefore, an improved clustering segmentation algorithm to correct the segmentation results of SLIC is presented in this paper. The allocation of pixels is not only related to its own characteristic, but also to those of its surrounding ***, it is appropriate to improve the standard SLIC through the pixels by focusing on boundaries. An improved SLIC method adheres better to the boundaries in the image is proposed, by using the first and second order difference operators as magnified factors. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves an excellent boundary adherence for artificial structure images. The application of the proposed method is extended to images with an unobvious boundary in the Berkeley Segmentation Dataset BSDS500. In comparison with SLIC, the boundary adherence is increased obviously.
