Background:To compare two swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT)biometers,IOLMaster 700 and ***:This is a retrospective *** measurements of cataract patients performed between March and July 2021 in the Department of Ophthalmology,United Christian hospital,hong Kong,were *** scheduled for cataract surgery were measured with both SS-OCT devices on the same *** following biometry parameters were compared:keratometry(K),total keratometry(TK),axial length(AL),central corneal thickness(CCT),anterior chamber depth(ACD),lens thickness(LT),white-to-white(wTw)and the predicted intraocular lens(IOL)power to achieve *** assess the agreement between the devices,Bland-Altman analysis with 95%limits of agreement(LoA)were ***:In total,92 eyes of 47 subjects were measured with both *** were statistically significant differences between the two biometers for most measurements(Pwer when using the right eyes for *** the left eyes,there were statistically significant differences in the measurements from the two biometers in all parameters except for flat and steep *** ANTERION did not obtain ACD,AL and LT in 2(2.17%),1(1.09%)and 5 cases(5.43%)***:The two biometers showed a clinically acceptable agreement in most *** showed significant differences in most parameters but not clinically relevant except for the TK and wTw,and these two parameters should not be used interchangeably between the devices.

Objective:To examine the association between mothers’health-related quality of life(HRQOL)and their children’s HRQOL and behavior in low-income ***:Mothers of 278 children aged 6-12 years from low-income families were invited to complete the Child Health Questionnaire Parent Form 50(CHQ-PF50)and the Strength and Dif-ficulties Questionnaire(SDQ)for their children as well as the 12-item Short-Form Health Survey version 2(SF-12v2)and the Patient Health Questionnaire-2(PHQ-2).Multiple linear regressions with mother-child pairs as the unit of analysis were performed to examine the associations between maternal and child variables with adjustment of mother-and child-level ***:Compared with the general population,low-income mothers had a lower mean SF-12v2 mental component summary score and their children also had lower mean CHQ-PF50 physi-cal and psychosocial summary scores and SDQ total difficulties *** of mothers with SF-12v2 scores below the population mean of 50 had significantly worse CHQ-PF50 scores and higher SDQ total difficulties *** mother’s PHQ-2 depression status had no association with the child’s CHQ-PF50 ***:Our findings suggest that more attention should be paid to reducing the negative impact of health problems on mothers’daily roles in childcare in low-income families.

Background: The medical imaging world is currently changing with the introduction of advanced modalities to help with diagnosis. There is then the need for the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in areas such as radiation protection to improve the safety as far as radiations are concerned. This review article discusses the principles, some of the challenges of radiation protection and the possible role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) regarding radiation protection in computed tomography and fluoroscopy exams. Methods: A literature search was done using Google Scholar, Science Direct and Pubmed to search for relevant articles concerning the review topic. Results: Some of the challenges identified were outdated and old X-ray machines, lack of QA programs on the machines amongst others. It was discovered that AI could be applied in areas like scan planning and positioning, patient positioning amongst others in CT imaging to reduce radiation doses. with fluoroscopy, an AI enabled system helped in reducing radiation doses by selecting the region of interest of pathology and exposing that region. Conclusion: The application of AI will improve safety and standards of practice in medical imaging.

Chinese herbal medicine is commonly used as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH）, but its efficacy and safety remain to be examined. To compare the efficacy and adverse events of Chinese herbal medicine alone or used adjuvantly with western medications for BPH. Two independent reviewers searched the major electronic databases for randomized controlled trials comparing Chinese herbal medicine, either in single or adjuvant use with western medication, with placebo or western medication. Relevant journals and grey literature were also hand-searched. The outcome measures included changes in urological symptoms, urodynamic measures, prostate volume and adverse events. The frequency of commonly used herbs was also identified. Out of 13 922 identified citations of publications, 31 studies were included. Eleven studies with a Jadad score i〉 3 were selected for meta-analysis. Chinese herbal medicine was superior to western medication in improving quality of life and reducing prostate volume. The frequency of adverse events in Chinese herbal medicine was similar to that of placebo and less than that of western medication. The evidence is too weak to support the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine for BPH due to the poor methodological quality and small number of trials included. The commonly used herbs identified here should provide insights for future clinical practice and research. Larger randomized controlled trials of better quality are needed to truly evaluate the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine.
