The selective synthesis of p-diethylbenzene （p-DEB） by disproportionation of ethylbenzene （EB） in the presence of aromatics like m- and p- xylene isomers has been studied over a pore size regulated HZSM-5 catalyst. The industrial feed having different compositions of ethylbenzene and xylene isomers was used for the experimentation. Hence, they were expected to hinder the movement of reactant molecules both on the external surface and within the zeolite channels. It was observed that irrespective of the different feed compositions the concentration of the xylene isomers was intact in the product. There is no other byproducts formation like para-ethylmethyl benzene. The effects of varying the concentration of aromatic compounds in the feed on ethylbenzene conversion and product distribution over the parent and modified H-ZSM-5 catalyst have been discussed. Ethylbenzene disproportionation reaction follows the pseudo first order reaction with an activation energy of 8.6 kcal/mol.

The on-chip memory performance of embedded systems directly affects the system designers＇ decision about how to allocate expensive silicon area. A novel memory architecture, flexible sequential and random access memory （FSrAM）, is investigated for embedded systems. To realize sequential accesses, small “links”are added to each row in the rAM array to point to the next row to be prefetched. The potential cache pollution is ameliorated by a small sequential access buyer （SAB）. To evaluate the architecture-level performance of FSrAM, we ran the Mediabench benchmark programs on a modified version of the SimpleScalar simulator. Our results show that the FSrAM improves the performance of a baseline processor with a 16KB data cache up to 55%, with an average of 9%; furthermore, the FSrAM reduces 53.1% of the data cache miss count on average due to its prefetching effect. We also designed rTL and SPICE models of the FSrAM, which show that the FSrAM significantly improves memory access time, while reducing power consumption, with negligible area overhead.

Over the past couple of decades considerable progress has been made in the management of metastatic colorectal cancers(mCrC) leading to a significant improvement in five-year survival. Although part of this success has been rightly attributed to aggressive surgical management and advances in other adjunct treatments, our understanding of the pathogenesis of cancer and emergence of newer molecular targets for colon cancer has created a powerful impact. In this review article we will discuss various targeted therapies in the management of mCrC. Newer agents on the horizon soon to be incorporated in clinical practice will be briefly reviewed as well.

The study in this manuscript aims to analyse the impact of thermal radiation on the two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flow of upper convected Maxwell(UCM)fluid between parallel *** lower plate is porous and stationary,while the top plate is impermeable and *** equations that describe the flow are transformed into non-linear ordinary differential equations with boundary conditions by employing similarity *** Homotopy Perturbation Method(HPM)is then employed to approach the obtained non-linear ordinary differential equations and get an approximate analytical *** analysis includes plotting the velocity profile for different reynolds number values and temperature distribution curves for distinct physical parameters such as reynolds number,Deborah number,magnetic parameter,porosity parameter,radiation parameter,and Prandtl *** the case of injection,the temporal profile declines with an increase in radiation parameter as the plates move away from each other,and an opposite trend is observed as plates move towards each ***,the skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate are analysed for the impact of these parameters using *** numerical values obtained using HPM are compared using the classical finite difference *** results show good agreement between the semi-analytical and numerical solutions.

Three-dimensional(3D)particle focusing in microfluidics is a fundamental capability with a wide range of applications,such as on-chip flow cytometry,where high-throughput analysis at the single-cell level is ***,3D focusing is achieved mainly in devices with complex layouts,additional sheath fluids,and complex pumping *** this work,we present a compact microfluidic device capable of 3D particle focusing at high flow rates and with a small footprint,without the requirement of external fields or lateral sheath flows,but using only a single-inlet,single-outlet microfluidic sequence of straight channels and tightly curving vertical *** device exploits inertial fluidic effects that occur in a laminar regime at sufficiently high flow rates,manipulating the particle positions by the combination of inertial lift forces and Dean drag *** device is fabricated by femtosecond laser irradiation followed by chemical etching,which is a simple two-step process enabling the creation of 3D microfluidic networks in fused silica glass *** use of tightly curving three-dimensional microfluidic loops produces strong Dean drag forces along the whole loop but also induces an asymmetric Dean flow decay in the subsequent straight channel,thus producing rapid cross-sectional mixing flows that assist with 3D particle *** use of out-of-plane loops favors a compact parallelization of multiple focusing channels,allowing one to process large amounts of *** addition,the low fluidic resistance of the channel network is compatible with vacuum driven *** resulting device is quite interesting for high-throughput on-chip flow cytometry.

The role of fecal microbial transplant(FMT) in the treatment of pediatric gastrointestinal disease has become increasingly popular among pediatric practitioners, patients, and parents. The success of FMT for the treatment of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection(rCDI) has bolstered interest in its potential application to other disease states, such as inflammatory bowel disease(IBD). FMT has particular interest in pediatrics, given the concerns of patients and parents about rates of adverse events with existing therapeutic options, and the greater cumulative medication burden associated with childhoodonset disease. Published literature on the use of FMT in pediatrics is sparse. Only 45 pediatric patients treated for rCDI have been reported, and only 27 pediatric patients with pediatric IBD. The pediatric microbiome may uniquely respond to microbial-based therapies. This review will provide a comprehensive overview of fecal microbial transplant and its potential role in the treatment of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease. We will discuss the microbiome in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, existing adult and pediatric literature on the use of FMT in IBD treatment, and pediatric FMT trials that are currently recruiting patients. This review will also discuss features of the microbiome that may be associated with host response in fecal transplant, and potential challenges and opportunities for the future of FMT in pediatric IBD treatment.
