The problem of vibration isolation by rectangular open trenches in a plane strain context is numerically studied using a finite element code, PLAXIS. The soil media is assumed to be linear elastic, isotropic, and homogeneous subjected to a vertical harmonic load producing steady-state vibration. The present model is validated by comparing it with previously published works. The key geometrical features of a trench, i.e., its depth, width, and distance from the source of excitation, are normalized with respect to the Rayleigh wavelength. The attenuation of vertical and horizontal components of vibration is studied for various trench dimensions against trench locations varied from an active to a passive case. Results are depicted in non-dimensional forms and conclusions are drawn regarding the effects of geometrical parameters in attenuating vertical and horizontal vibration components. The screening efficiency is primarily governed by the normalized depth of the barrier. The effect of width has little significance except in some specific cases. Simplified regression models are developed to estimate average amplitude reduction factors. The models applicable to vertical vibration cases are found to be in excellent agreement with previously published results.

This paper presents a state of the art machine learning-based approach for automation of a varied class of Internet of things(Io T) analytics problems targeted on 1-dimensional(1-D) sensor data. As feature recommendation is a major bottleneck for general Io Tbased applications, this paper shows how this step can be successfully automated based on a Wide Learning architecture without sacrificing the decision-making accuracy, and thereby reducing the development time and the cost of hiring expensive resources for specific problems. Interpretation of meaningful features is another contribution of this research. Several data sets from different real-world applications are considered to realize the proof-of-concept. Results show that the interpretable feature recommendation techniques are quite effective for the problems at hand in terms of performance and drastic reduction in development time.

The work investigates the major solute chemistry of groundwater and fluoride enrichment(F^(-))in the shallow phreatic aquifer of *** study also interprets the hydrogeochemical processes of solute acquisition and the genetic behavior of groundwater F^(-)contamination.A total of 1105 groundwater samples collected from across the state from different hydro-geomorphic settings have been analyzed for the major solutes and F^(-) *** is alkaline in nature(range of pH:6.6-8.7;ave.:7.9)predominated by moderately hard to very hard *** cation and anion chemistry stand in the orders of Ca^(2+)>Na^(+)>Mg^(2+)>K^(+) and HCO_(3)^(-)>Cl^(-)>SO_(4)^(2-)>CO_(3)^(2-) *** average mineralization is low(319 mg/L).The primary water types are Ca-Mg-HCO_(3) and Ca-Mg-Cl^(-)HCO_(3),followed by Na-Cl,Ca-Mg-Cl,and Na-Ca-Mg-HCO_(3)^(-)***-halite dissolution and reverse ion exchange are the significant processes of solute *** the geogenic as well as the anthropogenic sources contribute to the groundwater fluoride contamination,*** ratio of Na^(+)/Ca^(2+)>1.0 comprises Na-HCO_(3)(Cl)water types with F^(-)>1.0 mg/L(range 1.0-3.5 mg/L)where the F^(-)bears geogenic *** relations exist between F^(-)and pH,Na^(+),TDS,and HCO_(3)^(-).It also reflects a perfect Na-TDS correlation(0.85).The ratio of Na^(+)/Ca^(2+)<1.0 segregates the sample population(F^(-)range:1.0-4.0 mg/L)with the F derived from anthropogenic *** water types include Ca-Mg-HCO_(3)(Cl)varieties which are recently recharged meteoritic water *** F^(-) levels exhibit poor and negative correlations with the solutes in *** Na-TDS relation remains poor(0.12).In contrast,the TDS levels show strong correlations with Ca^(2+)(0.91),Mg^(2+)(0.80)and even Cl^(-)(0.91).The majority of the monitoring points with the anthropogenic sources of groundwater F^(-) are clustered in the Hirakud Canal Command area in the western parts of the state,indi

Thamnocalamus falconeri, Hook.f. ex Munro.,an important bamboo species belonging to the family Poaceae, locally known as Ringal, occurs in the hills of Uttarakhand, India. This species has been traditionally exploited by local communities to support their *** needs of the hill villages impose unsustainable pressure on natural stands of Ringal in the Uttarakhand hills and forests have been degraded. The long history of excessive cutting of Ringal from natural forests and the lack of replanting threaten villager livelihoods. Replanting is required to conserve the species. We propose a protocol for generation of planting material through axillary bud proliferation for multiplication and conservation of this species. We collected offsets/rhizomes from a natural stand of T. falconeri in the Chopta Mandal areas（Chamoli district, India）. These were planted at sites of varied elevation and fresh single nodal segments were collected from them as explants. Different sterilization treatments were assessed to combat contamination. Among these, treatment of 0.1 %Hg Cl2 followed by 5 % Na OCl, proved best. Among two cytokinin treatments, viz. BAP and Kinetin, singly or in combination, BAP alone（5 mg L-1） proved superior and resulted in 100 % bud break. BAP-supplemented MS media yielded maximum vigorous shoot formation（90 %）and maximum number of shoots（8.9）. Subculturing of shoots on the same medium with similar BAP treatment（5 mg L-1BAP） enabled continuous production of healthy shoots at similar frequency. Maximum rooting（100 %）was recorded on half-strength MS medium supplemented with 5 mg L-1IBA. Micropropagated plants were hardened and acclimatized in soil mixture（2：1：1） and then transplanted to field sites（Magra, Uttarakhand, 1,834 m）.Eight to ten months after field transplantation we recorded100 % survival of transplanted material. The objective of this study is to process the soil images to generate a digital soil classification system for rural farmers at low *** texture is the main factor to be considered before doing *** affects the crop selection and regulates the water transmission *** conventional hydrometer method determines the percentage of sand,silt,and clay present in a soil *** method is very cost and time-consuming *** this approach,we collect 50 soil samples from the different region of west Guwahati,Assam,*** samples are photographed under a constant light condition using an Android mobile of 13 MP *** fraction of sand,silt,and clay of the soil samples are determined using the hydrometer *** result of the hydrometer test is processed with the United State Department of Agriculture soil classification triangle for the final soil *** images are processed through the different stages like pre-processing of soil images for image enhancement,extracting the region of interest for segmentation and the texture analysis for feature *** feature vector is calculated from the Hue,Saturation,and Value(HSV)histogram,color moments,color auto Correlogram,Gabor wavelets,and discrete wavelet ***,Support Vector Machine classifier is used to classify the soil images using linear *** proposed method gives an average of 91.37%accuracy for all the soil samples and the result is nearly the same with the United State Department of Agriculture soil classification.

Objective:To investigate the underlying mechanism of anti-inflammatory action of coumarin and eugenol in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 ***:RAW 264.7 cells were treated with 2.5μg/mL of LPS,50μM of coumarin,and 50μM eugenol for 24 *** viability of the cells was assessed using MTT *** production of nitric oxide was determined using Griess reagent and DCFH-DA was used to measure the production of reactive oxygen *** protein expression of NLRP3,IL-1β,NF-κB,and cyclooxygenase 2 was assessed using Western blot ***:Coumarin and eugenol showed anti-inflammatory effects against LPS-induced inflammatory response by ameliorating the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome and NF-κB,which further led to a subsequent reduction in IL-1β,nitric oxide,and reactive oxygen ***:Coumarin and eugenol exert their anti-inflammatory activities by modulating the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway and NF-κ*** compounds may have promising therapeutic applications for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases.
