The work presented in this paper serves as numerical verification of the analytical model developed in the companion paper for nonlinear dynamic analysis of multi-base seismically isolated structures. To this end, two numerical examples have been analyzed using the computational algorithm incorporated into program 3D-BASIS-ME-MB, developed on the basis of the newly-formulated analytical model. The first example concerns a seven-story model structure that was tested on the earthquake simulator at the University at Buflhlo and was also used as a verification example for program SAP2000. The second example concerns a two-tower, multi-story structure with a split-level seismic-isolation system. For purposes of verification, key results produced by 3D-BASIS-ME-MB are compared to experimental results, or results obtained from other structural/finite element programs. In both examples, the analyzed structure is excited under conditions of bearing uplift, thus yielding a case of much interest in verifying the capabilities of the developed analysis tool.

The complexity of modem seismically isolated structures requires the analysis of the structural, system and the isolation system in its entirety and the ability to capture potential discontinuous phenomena such as isolator uplift and their effects on the superstructures and the isolation hardware. In this paper, an analytical model is developed and a computational algorithm is formulated to analyze complex seismically isolated superstructures even when undergoing highly-nonlinear phenomena such as uplift. The computational model has the capability of modeling various types of isolation devices with strong nonlinearities, analyzing multiple superstructures （up to five separate superstructures） on multiple bases （up to five bases）, and capturing the effects of lateral loads on bearing axial forces, including bearing uplift. The model developed herein has been utilized to form the software platform 3D-BASIS-ME-MB, which provides the practicing engineering community with a versatile tool for analysis and design of complex structures with modem isolation systems.

A simple nonlinear model is proposed in this paper to study the bending wave in a rectangular piezoelectric laminated beam of infinite *** on the constitutive relations for transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials and isotropic elastic materials,combined with some electric conditions,we derive the bending wave equation in a long rectangular piezoelectric laminated beam by using energy *** nonlinearity considered is geometrically associated with the nonlinear normal strain in the longitudinal beam *** shock-wave solution,solitary-wave solution and other exact solutions of the bending wave equation are obtained by the extended F-expansion *** by using the reductive perturbation method we derive the nonlinear Schrodinger(NLS)equation,further more,the bright and dark solitons are *** those soliton solutions,and some parameters derived by the process of solving soliton solutions,some conclusions are drawn by numerical analysis with some fixed conditions.

Induced-acetaldehyde toxic effects on gluatathione [GSH] metabolism and sulfhydryl (SH) groups in liver and in brain of female albino rats with reference to age was *** total -SH groups were decreased whereas the specific activities of glutathione-S-transferase [GST] and glutathione peroxidase [GP0] were increased in acetaldehyde treated rats. The toxicity of acetaldehyde and age related changes on oxidoreductases in the liver,brain, kidney, and musele of female albino rats (Wistar strain) were studied. The specific activities of lactate [LDH], isocitrate [IcDH (NAD/NADP)], succinate [SDH], malate [MDH], glutamate [GDH] and glucose-6-Phosphate [G-6-PDH] dehydrogenases were signifieantly inereased as a function of age. However, acetaldehyde treatment significantly inhibited oxidoreductases in the tissues of 21, 90 and 180 day old rats. Liver enzymes of young (21 days) rats exhibited greater sensitivity to acetaldehyde toxicity. Similar inhibition of oxidoreductases in brain and kidney of adult (180 days) rats treated with acetaldehyde was observed. LDH and GDH as compared to other enzymes studied showed higher susceptibility to acetaldehyde toxicity. The differential sensitivity of tissues and inhibition of oxidoreductases by acetaldehyde as a function of age could be attributed to hypoxic conditions, energy crisis, and mitochondrial structural changes. The results suggest that acetaldehyde affects oxidation of glucose via HMP shuni pathway, glycolytic pathway and Krebs cycle resulting in the impairment of carbohydrate metabolism

This work presents expeditious synthesis of c-glycoside amphiphiles in aqueous media from unprotected di-or mono-saccharides.A Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons/Michael addition/Barbier allylation sequence led to c-glycosides that exhibit hydrotropic *** hydrotropic and solubilizing properties of these homoallylic alcohols including a β-c-glycoside moiety as well as additional β-c-glycosidic ketones with a short(c7) alkyl chain are also described and compared with those of commercial O-glucoside references.

A novel method for a full-parallax three-dimensional （3D） holographic display by means of a lens array and a holographic functional screen is proposed. The process of acquisition, coding, restoration, and display is described in detail. It provides an efficient way to transfer the two-dimensional redundant information for human vision to the identifiable 3D display for human eyes. A holo-video system based on a commercial 4 K fiat-panel displayer is demonstrated as the result.

It is rare in the annals of science for a single publication to provide a definitive introduction to a previously unknown group of animals. Yet this was the case with the monograph that included the initial descriptions of an important, extinct group of fossil animals： the conodonts. The publication, by christian Heinrich Pander, appeared in St Petersburg in 1856. The volume of ninety-one pages, written in German and accompanied by seven beautifully executed plates, was issued by the Imperial Academy of Sciences as part of a series entitled Geognostische Beschreibung der Russisch-Baltischen Gouvernements.

Based on the geological background and Gammacerane/c31H(S + R) ratios, source rock depositional environments of the studied oil samples (194) from 13 oilfields were classified into three groups according to salinity:saline-lacustrine facies, fresh to brackish lacustrine facies (including limnetic facies), and semi-saline to saline facies (including marine facies of the Tarim Basin).c5-c13 compound groups in the crude oils were separated by Gc, and about 286 compounds were qualitatively *** geochemical application of the c6-c13 compound groups and their ratios between each group with individual carbon number was *** studies show that (1) c6-c13 compound groups and their ratios in the crude oils could serve as new reliable parameters for oil-oil correlation because the c6-c13 light fractions are the major oil component, especially in light oil or condensate, in which they account for almost 90% of the whole oil;(2) the compound groups of c7 light hydrocarbons in oils derived from difierent depositional environments with difierent salinity have difierent characteristics;(3) c6-c13 compound groups and ratios may be afiected by other factors such as maturity, but they are mainly controlled by salinity of depositional waters.
