Enhancement of solar-driven photocatalytic activity of oxygen vacancy-rich Bi/BiOBr/Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)composites through synergetic strategy of upconversion function and plasmonic effect

For better use of solar energy,the development of efficient broadband photocatalyst has attracted extraordinary attention.In this study,a ternary composite consisting of Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)upconversion(UC)nanocrystals and Bi nanoparticles loaded BiOBr nanosheets with oxygen vacancies(OVs,SLFBB)was designed and synthesized by multi-step solvent-thermal method.Mechanisms of in-situ formation of Bi nanoparticles and OVs in BiOBr/Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)composites(SFLB)are clarified.The Bi metal and OVs enhanced the light-harvesting capacity in the region of visible-near-infrared(Vis-NIR),and promoted the separation of electron-hole(e-/h+)pairs.Furthermore,the surface plasmon resonance(SPR)effect of Bi metal can improve the energy transfer from Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)to BiOBr via nonradiative energy transfer process,resulting in enhancing the light utilization from up-converting NIR into Vis light.Due to the synergistic effects of UC function,SPR and OVs,the SFLBB exhibited obviously enhanced photocatalytic ability for the degradation of BPA with a rate of 8.9×10^(-3) min^(-1),which is about 2.78 times higher than 3.2×10^(-3) min^(-1) of BiOBr(BOB)under UV-Vis-NIR light irradiation.This work provides a novel strategy for the project of high-efficiency Bismuth-based broadband photocatalysts,which is helpful to fur-ther understand the mechanism of enhanced photocatalysis by UC function and plasmonic effect.

Occurrence, spatial distribution and ecological risks of antibiotics in soil in urban agglomeration

Antibiotics in soil environment are regarded as emerging pollutants and have introduced increasing risks to soil ecosystem and human health in rapid urbanization areas. Identifying the occurrence and spatial variability of antibiotics in soils is an urgent issue in sustaining soil security. In this study, antibiotics in soils were investigated and analyzed in BeijingTianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration. The occurrence, spatial distribution, and related affecting factors of antibiotics in soils were identified and ecological risks of antibiotics in soil environment were assessed. Results showed that(1) The mean concentration of soil antibiotics in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration was 21.79 μg/kg. Land use substantially affected the occurrence and concentration of antibiotics in soils. Concentrations of antibiotics in cropland and orchard soils were 2-3 times higher than the other land use types.(2)The concentrations of antibiotics in soils in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration presented a spatial pattern of high values in southeast, and low values in northwest. Spatial variability of antibiotics in soils was closely related to the application of organic fertilizer and wastewater irrigation as well as topographical features. Furthermore, soil properties and land management policy had substantial influences on soil antibiotics, and soil heavy metals may aggravate the accumulation of antibiotics in soils.(3) Ecological risks assessment of antibiotics in soils demonstrated that erythromycin(ERY), sulfamethoxazole(SMX), and doxycycline(DOX) may introduce high risks to soil ecosystem health, and more attention should be paid to the areas with intensive human activities that had potential high risk to soil ecosystem health. This study suggests that scientific land and soil management should be considered to prevent soil antibiotic pollution and sustain soil security in urban agglomeration.

Circular RNAs take crucial roles in several pathophysiological processes.The regulatory role and its underlying mechanisms of circ-ZNF609 in the heart remains largely unknown.Here,we report that circ-ZNF609 is upregulated during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)remodeling.Knockdown of circ-ZNF609 protects against acute I/R injury and attenuates left ventricle dysfunction after I/R remodeling in vivo.In vitro,circ-ZNF609 regulates cardiomyocyte survival and proliferation via modulating the crosstalk between Hippo-YAP and Akt signaling.Mechanically,N6-methyladenosine-modification is involved in the regulatory role of circ-ZNF609 on YAP.An in-depth study indicates that knockdown of circ-ZNF609 decreases the expression of YTHDF3 and further fine-tuned the accessibility of Yap mRNA to YTHDF1 and YTHDF2 to regulate YAP expression.circ-ZNF609 knockdown represents a promising therapeutic strategy to combat the pathological process of myocardial I/R injury.

Intense single-band red upconversion emission in BiOCl:Er3+ layered semiconductor via co-doping Ho3+

Exploring a new tuning way to facilely realize single-band red emission in trivalent rare-earth ions(RE3+) doped upconversion(UC) materials is still desirable.In this work,the intense single-band red emission is achieved by co-doping only Ho3+in the BiOCl:Er3+ under 1550 nm excitation.In the BiOCl layered host,co-doping Ho3+can further enhance the red emission and simultaneously suppress the green emission of Er3+,and thus obviously improve the red-to-green(R/G) ratio.It is found that Ho3+does not se rve as ene rgy trapping through the 5 I6 state as in traditional UC materials but acts as ET bridge(4 S3/2,2 H11/2(Er3+)→5 F4,5 S2(Ho3+)→4 F9/2(Er3+)).The tuning mechanism of Ho3+is discussed in detail and further confirms through a comparative experiment.Our research gives an unusual perspective to tune the UC behavior of Er3+through co-doping Ho3+,which might be inspiring for achievement of single-band red UC emission.

本文提出了基于交通流宏观基本图(MFD)以及实时路况数据的城市道路机动车排放计算方法,并以环境保护部发布的指导方法为参照,对所述方法进行了对比验证。以2015年3月北京市五环路高速,国道京福路,省道京周路的氮氧化物排放为例,两种方法计算结果平均偏差分别为?27.7%,?12.9%,?12.0%。因此,基于MFD及实时路况数据对交通流量及机动车排放的估算,可以较好地反映道路机动车的运行情况及排放特征,在构建应用于街区尺度模型的排放清单,城市区域道路机动车排放的时空分布特征等方面具有非常好的应用潜力。

Experiment and Numerical Simulation on the Dynamic Response of Foam-Filled Tubes Under Lateral Blast Loading

The dynamic response and energy absorption performance of foam-filled tubes under lateral external blast loading were investigated experimentally and numerically.A series of blast tests for the foam-filled tubes with different geometric parameters were carried out by the use of the ballistic pendulum system.Experimental results were compared with the numerical simulation results employing the software ABAQUS.The results showed that the finite element(FE)analysis was in good agreement with the experimental data.The effects of the diameter and wall thickness of the outer tube,the TNT explosive charge mass,and the standoff distance on the deformation modes,the blast resistance,and the energy absorption performance of the foam-filled tubes were investigated.Three deformation modes of the foam-filled tubes were observed under the lateral external blast loading,including local plastic deformation,large plastic deformation with an elliptic shape,and the tearing of the outer tube.The result revealed that the introduction of the foam core played a vital role in the deflection and energy absorption capacity of the structure.This study provided effective guidelines for designing foam-filled tubes with high energy absorption efficiency.

Silicosis is a leading cause of occupational disease-related morbidity and mortality worldwide,but the molecular basis underlying its development remains unclear.An accumulating body of evidence supports gasdermin D(GSDMD)-mediated pyroptosis as a key component in the development of various pulmonary diseases.However,there is little experimental evidence connecting silicosis and GSDMD-driven pyroptosis.In this work,we investigated the role of GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis in silicosis.Single-cell RNA sequencing of healthy and silicosis human and murine lung tissues indicated that GSDMD-induced pyroptosis in macrophages was relevant to silicosis progression.Through microscopy we then observed morphological alterations of pyroptosis in macrophages treated with silica.Measurement of interleukin-1βrelease,lactic dehydrogenase activity,and real-time propidium iodide staining further revealed that silica induced pyroptosis of macrophages.Additionally,we verified that both canonical(caspase-1-mediated)and non-canonical(caspase-4/5/11-mediated)signaling pathways mediated silica-induced pyroptosis activation,in vivo and in vitro.Notably,Gsdmd knockout mice exhibited dramatically alleviated silicosis phenotypes,which highlighted the pivotal role of pyroptosis in this disease.Taken together,our results demonstrated that macrophages underwent GSDMD-dependent pyroptosis in silicosis and inhibition of this process could serve as a viable clinical strategy for mitigating silicosis.

Probability Analysis of the Wave-Slamming Pressure Values of the Horizontal Deck with Elastic Support

This paper presents the probability distribution of the slamming pressure from an experimental study of regular wave slamming on an elastically supported horizontal deck. The time series of the slamming pressure during the wave impact were first obtained through statistical analyses on experimental data. The exceeding probability distribution of the maximum slamming pressure peak and distribution parameters were analyzed, and the results show that the exceeding probability distribution of the maximum slamming pressure peak accords with the three-parameter Weibull distribution. Furthermore, the range and relationships of the distribution parameters were studied. The sum of the location parameter D and the scale parameter L was approximately equal to 1.0, and the exceeding probability was more than 36.79% when the random peak was equal to the sample average during the wave impact. The variation of the distribution parameters and slamming pressure under different model conditions were comprehensively presented, and the parameter values of the Weibull distribution of wave-slamming pressure peaks were different due to different test models. The parameter values were found to decrease due to the increased stiffness of the elastic support. The damage criterion of the structure model caused by the wave impact was initially discussed, and the structure model was destroyed when the average slamming time was greater than a certain value during the duration of the wave impact. The conclusions of the experimental study were then described.

Evolutionary convergence is one of the most striking examples of adaptation driven by natural selection.However, genomic evidence for convergent adaptation to extreme environments remains scarce.Here, we assembled reference genomes of two alpine plants, Saussurea obvallata(Asteraceae)and Rheum alexandrae(Polygonaceae), with 37,938 and 61,463 annotated protein-coding genes. By integrating an additional five alpine genomes,we elucidated genomic convergence underlying high-altitude adaptation in alpine plants. Our results detected convergent contractions of diseaseresistance genes in alpine genomes, which might be an energy-saving strategy for surviving in hostile environments with only a few pathogens present.We identified signatures of positive selection on a set of genes involved in reproduction and respiration(e.g., MMD1, NBS1, and HPR), and revealed signatures of molecular convergence on genes involved in self-incompatibility, cell wall modification,DNA repair and stress resistance, which may underlie adaptation to extreme cold, high ultraviolet radiation and hypoxia environments. Incorporating transcriptomic data, we further demonstrated that genes associated with cuticular wax and flavonoid biosynthetic pathways exhibit higher expression levels in leafy bracts, shedding light on the genetic mechanisms of the adaptive “greenhouse” morphology. Our integrative data provide novel insights into convergent evolution at a high-taxonomic level,aiding in a deep understanding of genetic adaptation to complex environments.

Microplastics(MPs)are emerging contaminants that have attracted worldwide attention in recent years.Compared with MPs,nanoplastics(NPs)may exhibit greater toxicity and higher potential risks because of their unique physiochemical nanoscale properties.However,the environmental fate,ecosystem toxicity,and potential risks associated with NPs have been less explored.This study summarizes the current research status of NPs through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis.The research hotspots and future trends of NPs were identified.We comprehensively searched the Web of Science Core Collection scientific database from its inception(2004)to November 26,2020.The results showed that the number of papers on NPs has increased significantly since 2014.The keywords used in NP research were divided into three clusters.Cluster 1 related to the physical,chemical,and biological behaviors of NPs in aquatic environments.Cluster 2 represented a relatively new and hot research field concerning the exposure,accumulation,and toxicity of NPs in organisms.Cluster 3 corresponded to the identification and quantification of NPs in marine environments and sediments.Moreover,we systematically elaborated the main areas of NP research,such as the characterization,occurrence,environmental behavior,ecological toxicity,and human health risks of NPs.The results showed that the quantification of NPs at environmentally relevant concentrations remains a challenge.Most studies have investigated polystyrene NPs,spherical NPs,and NPs in marine environments,while few studies have examined the aggregation,deposition,and ecological toxicity of NPs under environmentally relevant conditions.In addition,much less is known about the human health risks associated with NPs because little research has been conducted on estimating the overall human exposure to NPs and its effect.Finally,the current challenges and future perspectives of NP research are discussed.
