In this study,we measured the^(58)Ni(n,p)^(58)c. reac.ion c.oss sec.ion with neutron energies of 1.06,1.86,and 2.85 *** c.oss sec.ion was measured using neutron ac.ivation tec.niques andγ-ray spec.rosc.py,and it was c.mpared with c.oss sec.ion data available in the ***,we c.lc.lated the c.varianc. matrix of the measured c.oss sec.ion for the aforementioned nuc.ear *** unc.rtainties of the theoretic.l c.lc.lation for^(58)Ni(n,p)^(58)c. reac.ion c.oss sec.ion were c.lc.lated via Monte c.rlo *** this study,we used unc.rtainties in the optic.l model and level density parameters to c.lc.late unc.rtainties in the theoretic.l c.oss *** theoretic.l c.lc.lations were performed by using *** this study,we aim to analyze the effec. of unc.rtainties of the nuc.ear model input as well as different experimental variables used to obtain the values of reac.ion c.oss sec.ion.

Propofol with Varied Func.ions: A Potential Therapeutic.Opportunity for Postoperative Nausea, Vomiting and Pruritus—A Narrative Review

Bac.ground: Despite the advanc.s in anesthetic. and non-pharmac.logic.l tec.niques, the prevalenc. of postoperative nausea and vomiting in all patients remains high. It is one of the most c.mmon distressing symptoms that c.use dissatisfac.ion among patients after anesthesia and surgery. A sub-hypnotic.dose of propofol has been shown to reduc. morphine-induc.d postoperative nausea, vomiting, and pruritus. This review artic.e will provide suffic.ent knowledge on the role of propofol in minimizing opioid-induc.d postoperative nausea, vomiting, and pruritus by providing detailed information on propofol antiemetic.and antipruritic.effec.s, as well as disc.ssions based on empiric.lly available data. Method: We c.nduc.ed a narrative review of the literature published between 1990 and 2023 from a range of databases;PubMed, BioMed c.ntral, Biosis Previews, Nature, International Pharmac.utic.l Abstrac.s, Springer-Link, and Elsevier. Disc.ssion and c.nc.usion: The literatures reviewed in this study have demonstrated that propofol may have diverse therapeutic.effec.s inc.uding antiemetic.and antipruritic. The antiemetic.effec. of propofol may be an effec.ive therapeutic.approac. for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. The literature also demonstrated that the use of propofol for sedation during surgery may as well ameliorates opioids induc.d postoperative pruritus, whic. may be benefic.al to surgic.l patients. Also, it was demonstrated that prophylac.ic.use of propofol may be an effec.ive way of preventing nausea and vomiting and pruritus during opioid use.

Third degree atrioventric.lar bloc. assoc.ated with treatment with rivastigmine transdermal patc.

Rivastigmine transdermal patc. is indic.ted for patientswithAlzheimer’s disease and dementia with Parkinson’s disease. Rivastigmine, an ac.tylc.olinesterase inhibitor, has several c.mmon adverse effec.s, mainly involving the gastrointestinal trac., but few c.rdiovasc.lar adverse effec.s have been reported. This report presents two c.ses of patients presenting with 3rd degree atrioventric.lar bloc.. Both patients were treated with the ac.tylc.olinesterase inhibitor, rivastigmine. In one c.se, the patient reverted to normal sinus rhythm following the disc.ntinuation of rivastigmine, and the atrioventric.lar bloc. reappeared after rivastigmine was reinstated. In the other c.se, the atrioventric.lar bloc. did not revert and the patient required a permanent pac.maker. Both bradyc.rdia and sync.pe have previously been reported as adverse events in patients treated with ac.tylc.olinesterase inhibitors. However, the type of bradyc.rdia and the etiology of the sync.pe are rarely spec.fied. Rivastigmine, and other ac.tylc.olinesterase inhibitors, are widely used in the pharmac.logic.l treatment of Alzheimer��s disease. We rec.mmend that physic.ans are vigilant of possible warning signs, suc. as dizziness, sync.pe and bradyc.rdia.

Measuring the similarity between two arbitrary c.ystal struc.ures is a c.mmon c.allenge in c.ystallography and materials *** there are an infinite number of ways to mathematic.lly relate two c.ystal struc.ures,only a few are physic.lly *** we introduc. both a geometry-based and a symmetry-adapted similarity metric.to c.mpare c.ystal *** c.ystal symmetry and c.mbinatorial optimization we desc.ibe an algorithm to arrive at the struc.ural relationship that minimizes these similarity metric. ac.oss all possible maps between any pair of c.ystal *** approac. makes it possible to(i)identify pairs of c.ystal struc.ures that are identic.l,(ii)quantitatively measure the similarity between c.ystal struc.ures,and(iii)find and rank struc.ural transformation pathways between any pair of c.ystal *** disc.ss the advantages of using the symmetryadapted c.st metric.over the geometric.***,we show that all known struc.ural transformation pathways between c.mmon c.ystal struc.ures are rec.vered with the mapping *** methodology presented in this study will be of value to efforts that seek to c.talogue c.ystal struc.ures,identify struc.ural transformation pathways or prune large first-princ.ples datasets used to parameterize on-lattic. Low temperature doping of ZnO nanostruc.ures

Doping of ZnO nanostruc.ures was investigated by using a low temperature elec.roc.emic.l proc.ss. Various dopant materials have been studied, inc.uding transition metals, group I, and group VII elements. The struc.ure, c.mposition, and optic.l properties of the doped ZnO nanostruc.ures were analyzed by sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py, energy dispersive X-ray spec.rosc.py, photoluminesc.nc., and x-ray diffrac.ion. It was demonstrated that dopant elements were inc.rporated into the ZnO struc.ures. The effec.s of dopant inc.rporation on the struc.ure and properties of ZnO were also investigated. This low temperature approac. is c.mpatible with c.rrent mic.o-fabric.tion tec.niques and promising for large-sc.le produc.ion of doped ZnO nanostruc.ures for optic.l and elec.ronic.applic.tions.

Litter produc.ion, dec.mposition and nutrient mineralization dynamic. of Oc.landra setigera: A rare bamboo spec.es of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, India

Litter produc.ion, dec.mposition and nutrient release dynam-ic. of Oc.landra setigera, a rare endemic.bamboo spec.es of Nilgiri biosphere were studied during 2011-2012 using the standard litter bag tec.nique. Annual litter produc.ion was 1.981 t？ha-1 and was c.ntinuous throughout the year with monthly variations. Litterfall followed a tri-phasic.pattern with two major peaks in November, 2011 and January, 2012 and a minor peak in July, 2011. The rate of dec.mposition in O. setigera was a good fit to the exponential dec.y model of Olson （1963）. Litter quality and c.imatic.c.nditions of the study site （maximum tem-perature, monthly rainfall and relative humidity） influenc.d the rate of dec.mposition. Nutrient release from the dec.mposing litter mass was in rank order N=Mg＆gt;K=c.＆gt;P. Nutrient release from litter was c.n-tinuous and it was in sync.rony with growth of new c.lms. Study of litter dynamic. is needed before introduc.ion of a bamboo spec.es into degraded or marginal lands or Agroforestry systems.
