the influence of spark plasma sintering temperatures on the microstructure,hardness,and elastic modulus of the nanocrystalline Al-xV alloys produced by high-energy ball milling

Al-xV alloys(x=2 at.%,5 at.%,10 at.%)with nanocrystalline structure and high solid solubility of V were produced in powder form by high-energy ball milling(HEBM).the alloy powders were consolidated by spark plasma sintering(SPS)employing a wide range of temperatures ranging from 200 to 400°*** microstructure and solid solubility of V in Al were investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscope and transmission electron *** microstructure was influenced by the SPS temperature and V content of the *** alloys exhibited high solid solubility of V–six orders of magnitude higher than that in equilibrium state and grain sizet all the SPS *** formation of Al3V intermetallic was detected at 400℃.Formation of a V-lean phase and bimodal grain size was observed during SPS,which increased with the increase in SPS *** hardness and elastic modulus,measured using nanoindentation,were significantly higher than commercial *** example,Al-V alloy produced by SPS at 200℃ exhibited a hardness of 5.21 GPa along with elastic modulus of 96.21 *** evolution of the microstructure and hardness with SPS temperatures has been discussed.

Hybrid materials collected from organic and inorganic sources,which are traditionally used as brake lining materials,generally include fly ash,cashew shell powder,phenolic resins,aluminium wool,barites,lime powder,carbon powder and copper *** present research focuses on the specific effects produced by fly ash and aims to provide useful indications for the replacement of asbestos due to the health hazards caused by the related ***,the financial implications related to the use of large-volume use of fly ash,lime stone and cashew shell powder,readily available in most countries in the world,are also *** is shown that many manufacturing and automotive industries,which are currently experiencing difficulties in meeting the increasing demand for brake lining material,may take advantage from the proposed solution.

this article demonstrates the fabrication of organic-based devices using a low-cost solution-processable technique.A blended heterojunction of chlorine substituted 2D-conjugated polymer PBDB-t-2Cl,and PC71BM supported nanocapsules hy-drate vanadium penta oxides(HVO)as hole transport layer(HtL)based photodetector fabricated on an ItO coated glass sub-strate under ambient *** device forms an excellent organic junction diode with a good rectification ratio of~*** device has also shown excellent photodetection properties under photoconductive mode(at reverse bias)and zero bias for green light wavelength.A very high responsivity of~6500 mA/W and high external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 1400%have been reported in the *** proposed organic photodetector exhibits an excellent response and recovery time of~30 and~40 ms,respectively.

迄今,尼泊尔及其南侧邻区元古宙以来的构造-沉积演化尚缺乏系统性研究.为了促进区域地质认识,结合前人研究成果及新的研究发现,对尼泊尔低喜马拉雅带及以南的构造-沉积演化首次进行系统性总结与讨论.结果表明:尼泊尔低喜马拉雅带及以南与印度地盾北缘在地质历史中的构造-沉积演化息息相关,且自元古宙以来,发育了被动大陆边缘→陆内裂谷→被动大陆边缘→前陆盆地等不同构造演化阶段的沉积响应;尼泊尔西部的Dailekh群属于~1.8 Ga以前或前哥伦比亚超大陆之前的被动大陆边缘沉积;Vindhyan超群为下断上坳的陆内裂谷沉积,尼泊尔境内的Lakharpata群相当于下Vindhyan群;Gondwana超大陆裂解导致由北往南形成一系列初始发育时间越来越晚的裂谷盆地;Surkhet群至Siwalik群为被动大陆边缘至前陆盆地沉积,其中,Surkhet群Swat/Subathu组是喜马拉雅南侧地质历史上最后一套海相沉积地层,也是被动大陆边缘向前陆盆地转换期的沉积响应;Siwalik群大规模的磨拉石建造标志着喜马拉雅快速和大幅度隆升,该群沉积成岩后,印度-欧亚板块进一步的挤压作用导致了地质历史上迄今为止最后一次强烈的构造运动,形成MFt与Siwalik褶皱带,并奠定了喜马拉雅带现今构造格局.

An intense laser pulse focused onto a plasma can excite nonlinear plasma *** appropriate conditions,electrons from the background plasma are trapped in the plasma wave and accelerated to ultra-relativistic *** scheme is called a laser wakefield *** this work,we present results from a laser wakefield acceleration experiment using a petawatt-class laser to excite the wakefields as well as nanoparticles to assist the injection of electrons into the accelerating phase of the *** find that a 10-cm-long,nanoparticle-assisted laser wakefield accelerator can generate 340 pC,10±1.86 GeV electron bunches with a 3.4 GeV rms convolved energy spread and a 0.9 mrad rms *** can also produce bunches with lower energies in the 4–6 GeV range.

Numerical simulation and experimental validation of arc welding of DMR-249A steel

the thermo-mechanical attributes of DMR-249 A steel weld joints manufactured by shielded metal arc welding(SMAW) and activated gas tungsten arc welding(A-GtAW) processes were studied using Finite Element Model(FEM) simulation. the thermal gradients and residual stresses were analyzed with SYSWELD software using double ellipsoidal heat source distribution model. the numerically estimated temperature distribution was validated with online temperature measurements using thermocouples. the predicted residual stresses profile across the weld joints was compared with the values experimentally measured using non-destructive techniques. the measured and predicted thermal cycles and residual stress profile was observed to be comparable. the residual stress developed in double sided A-GtAW joint were marginally higher in comparison to five pass SMAW joint due to phase transformation associated with high heat input per weld pass for A-GtAW process. the present investigations suggest the applicability of numerical modeling as an effective approach for predicting the thermo-mechanical properties influenced by welding techniques for DMR-249 A steel weld joints. the tensile, impact and micro-hardness tests were carried to compare the *** benefits of high productivity and savings of labor and cost associated with A-GtAW compared to SMAW process, the minor variation in residual stress build up of A-GtAW joint can be neglected to develop A-GtAW as qualified alternative welding technique for DMR-249 A steel.? 2016 China Ordnance Society. Comparing acid steatocrit and faecal elastase estimations for use in M-ANNHEIM staging for pancreatitis

AIM to compare two tests for exocrine pancreatic function(EPF) for use in M-ANNHEIM staging for pancreatitis. MEtHODS One hundred and ninety four consecutive patients with acute pancreatitis(AP; n = 13), recurrent acute pancreatitis(RAP; n = 65) and chronic pancreatitis(CP; n = 116) were enrolled. EPF was assessed by faecal elastase-1(FE-1) estimation and stool fat excretion by the acid steatocrit method. Patients were classified as per M-ANNHEIM stages separately based on the results of the two tests for comparison. Independent Student's t-test, χ~2 test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test and Mc Nemar's test were used as appropriate. RESULtS Sixty-one(52.5%) patients with CP had steatorrhoea when assessed by the acid steatocrit method; 79 (68.1%) with CP had exocrine insufficiency by the FE-1 test(χ~2 test, P the results of acid steatocrit and FE-1 showed a significant negative correlation(Spearman's rho =-0.376, P tatistically significant difference was seen between the M-ANNHEIM stages as classified separately by acid steatocrit and the FE-1. thirteen(6.7%), 87(44.8%), 89(45.8%) and 5(2.5%) patients were placed in M-ANNHEIM stages 0,?Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ respectively, with the use of acid steatocrit as against 13(6.7%), 85(43.8%), 75(38.6%), and 21(10.8%) respectively by FE-1 in stages 0,?Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ thereby altering the stage in 28(14.4%) patients(P test). CONCLUSION FE-1 estimation performed better than the acid steatocrit test for use in the staging of pancreatitis by the M-ANNHEIM classification since it diagnosed a higher proportion of patients with exocrine insufficiency.

We have previously developed a poly(L-lactic)acid(PLLA)bioengineered anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)matrix that has demonstrated enhanced healing when seeded with primary ACL cells prior to implantation in a rabbit model,as compared with the matrix *** suggests that improving cell adhesion on the matrix may beneficially affect the healing response and long-term performance of the bioengineered ACL *** regenerative engineering approach involves enhancing the surface properties of the matrix to support cell adhesion and growth in combination with point-of-care stem cell ***,we studied the cell adhesion properties of PLLA braided microfiber matrices enhanced through the physical adsorption of fibronectin and air plasma *** evaluated the kinetics and binding efficiency of fibronectin onto matrices at three time points and three fibronectin *** the matrix for 120 min in a solution of 25 lgmL1 fibronectin achieved the greatest binding efficiency to the matrix and cellular *** the matrices to air plasma treatment for 5 min before fibronectin adsorption significantly enhanced the cell adhesion of rabbit bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(R-BMMSCs)24 h post cell ***,cellular proliferation was monitored for up to 21 d,the matrices were exposed to air plasma treatment,and fibronectin adsorption was found to result in enhanced cell *** findings suggest that exposure to air plasma treatment and fibronectin adsorption enhances the cellular adhesion of PLLA braided microfiber matrices and may improve the clinical efficacy of the matrix in combination with point-of-care stem cell therapies.
