Over the past several decades,significant scientific progress in xenotransplantation has brought the field to the threshold of clinical *** the past 3 years in the United States,experimental pig kidney and heart xenotransplantation have been performed on human subjects recently declared dead by neurological criteria(decedents).In addition,two pig heart transplants have been carried out in living patients under the United States Food and Drug Administration's expanded access ***,though there has been a flurry of activity there remain unanswered questions regarding how the public views xenotransplantation,what concerns may exist,and how to address these concerns in a meaningful *** paper aims to underscore the importance of public engagement in xenotransplantation,emphasizing the ongoing need for studies to assess public *** current evidence on public engagement studies is reviewed and gaps in our understanding are *** propose practical steps to advance this *** studies to determine the extent of racial/ethnic differences in attitudes to xenotransplantation should be *** and descriptive analysis of certain religious viewpoints—especially minority faiths—would be *** public engagement is an important aspect of public acceptance of novel research that is accompanied by risk,we suggest that xenotransplantation biotechnology companies might consider leading the way in funding this research.

七十年代初,可充碱锰电池在美国和芬兰就商品化了,由于MnO_2尚不能做到全放电,与铅酸和镍镉电池相比,缺乏竞争力。它主要用于便携式电视机和大型信号灯中,但没几年就停产了,此后又经历了以下几方面的改进:(1)控制锌阳极的容量,使MaO_2为第一电子放电,使锌近于完全溶解后再充电的问题减少,因锌几乎完全溶解后,电池再充性变差。控制阴极物质的组成,加入晶格稳定剂,使电池循环寿命延长。(2)阴极中添加适当的催化剂使电池中腐蚀氢再结合。采用第三电极氧循环,使电池增强过充电能力。(3)试验表明,高温时,其搁置寿命比镍镉、镍氢电池长。(4)降低电池中汞含量,有利于环境保护。(5)原材料及生产工艺进一步完善。最近,可充碱性锌锰电池的研制又取得了新进展。 1 薄阴极的特性圆柱形电池中,MnO_2电极的厚度对电池的性能起决定性作用。图1(见正文——下同)表明阴极的厚度与MnO_2利用率的关系。适用于“D”(LR—20)、“C”(LR—14)、“AA”(LR—6)和“AAA”(LR—03)等电池。图中可看出,厚度越小,MnO_2利用率越高。对商品化的“D”型、“C”型、“AA”型及“AAA”型电池,其厚度分别为6mm、4mm、2mm、1mm。表1说明了不同型号的单体原电池的重量(g)与容量的关系。表2、表3则说明了单个原电池以及与之对应的电池组之间?

A fragmentation mechanism and characterization for the first time using Direct Analysis in Real Time- Time of Flight-Mass Spectrometry(DART-TOF-MS)of the tetramethylene diperoxide dicarbamide(TMDD)compound were *** MS-spectrum may support other research about devices and detection in real *** mass spectrum of TMDD obtained using DART ionization in the positive-ion detection mode exhibited a strong peak at m/z254representing an ammonium adduct([TMMD·NH_4]~+).There was another peak at m/z237,which represented the protonated molecule([TMDD·H]~+)of *** two peaks corroborated the identity of the *** DART-MS spectra of the TMDD-isotopomer successfully corroborated the respective molecular tails. The principal fragmentation residues also showed coherence according to the number of isotopically labeled atoms on the TMDD *** contrast with other organic peroxides analyzed by this technique,TMDD exhibited substantial *** theoretical modeling results showed that the fragmentation mechanism of the TMDD ion adduct is strongly dependent of the TMDD ring flexibility and the hydrogen bonding formed between the nitrogen and oxygen atoms and the atmospheric proton.

Despite the widespread application of point-of-care lateral flow tests,the viscosity dependence of these assay results remains a significant ***,we employ centrifugal microfluidic flow control through the nitrocellulose membrane of the strip to eliminate the viscosity *** key feature is the balancing of the sample flow into the cassette of the lateral flow test with the air flow out of the cassette.A viscosity-indepen3ent flow rate of 3.01±0.18 min(±6%)is demonstrated for samples with viscosities ranging from 1.1 mPas to 24 mPas,a factor greater than *** a model human IgG lateral flow assay,signal-intensity shifts caused by varying the sample viscosity from 1.1 mPas to 23 mPas could be reduced by more than 84%.

The Cambrian-lower Ordovician volcanic units of the South Armorican and Occitan domains are ana- lysed in a tectonostratigraphic survey of the French Variscan Belt. The South Armorican lavas consist of continental tholeiites in middle Camhrian-Furongian sequences related to continental break-up. A significant volcanic activity occurred in the Tremadocian, dominated by crustal melted rhyolitic lavas and initial rifting tholeiites. The Occitan lavas are distributed into five volcanic phases：（I） basal Cambrian rhyolites, （2） upper lower Cambrian Mg-rich tholeiites close to N-MORBs but crustal contaminated, （3） upper lower-middle Cambrian continental tholeiites, （4） Tremadocian rhyolites, and （5） upper lower Ordovician initial rift tholeiites. A rifting event linked to asthenosphere upwelling took place in the late early Cambrian but did not evolve. It renewed in the Tremadocian with abundant crustal melting due to underplating of mixed asthenospheric and lithospheric magmas. This main tectono-magmatic conti- nental rift is termed the ＂Tremadocian Tectonic Belt＂ underlined by a chain of rhyolitic volcanoes from Occitan and South Armorican domains to Central Iberia. It evolved with the setting of syn-rift coarse siliciclastic deposits overlain by post-rift deep water shales in a suite of sedimentary basins that fore- casted the South Armorican-Medio-European Ocean as a part of the Palaeotethys Ocean.

In digital soil mapping(DSM),a fundamental assumption is that the spatial variability of the target variable can be explained by the predictors or environmental *** to adequately sample the predictors have been well documented,with the conditioned Latin hypercube sampling(cLHS)algorithm receiving the most attention in the DSM *** advances in sampling design,a critical gap remains in determining the number of samples required for DSM *** propose a simple workflow and function coded in R language to determine the minimum sample size for the cLHS algorithm based on histograms of the predictor variables using the Freedman-Diaconis rule for determining optimal bin *** preprocessing was included to correct for multimodal and non-normally distributed data,as these can affect sample size determination from the *** on a user-selected quantile range(QR)for the sample plan,the densities of the histogram bins at the upper and lower bounds of the QR were used as a scaling factor to determine minimum sample *** technique was applied to a field-scale set of environmental covariates for a well-sampled agricultural study site near Guelph,Ontario,Canada,and tested across a range of *** results showed increasing minimum sample size with an increase in the QR *** sample size increased from 44 to 83 when the QR increased from 50% to 95% and then increased exponentially to 194 for the 99%*** technique provides an estimate of minimum sample size that can be used as an input to the cLHS algorithm.
