Objective: Th.s study aimed to determine search.ng for th. determinants of regional obesity (visceral and subcutaneous obesity) with.n th. cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) in patients followed in cardiology at th. University Clinics of Kinsh.sa (UCK) in th. Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Material and Meth.ds: Cross-sectional and analytical study h.d sough. th. determinants of regional obesity (visceral and subcutaneous obesity) by bio-impedance inside th. CVRF during th. period from July 1 to September 31, 2014. Th. multivariate analysis (logistic regression) h.s establish.d th. levels of association between regional obesity and CVRF. Th. statistical significance th.esh.ld was set at p Results: A total of 642 patients participated in th. present study. Th. frequencies of visceral and subcutaneous obesity were respectively 45.5% (with.ut significant distinction between th. two sexes: Men 48% n = 92/188 vs. Women 44.1 n = 200/454;p = 0.148) and 60.7% with.a predominance in women (36.2 n = 68/188 vs. 70.9% n = 322/454;p th.t alongside regional obesity was: advanced age, tobacco use, alcoh.l use, ph.sical inactivity, h.gh.blood pressure (h.P), diabetes mellitus (DM) and Ch.onic renal failure (CRF) in th. respective proportions of 50.8%, 13.4%, 44.2%, 86.3%, 10.7%, 13.4% and 0.3%. Th. determinants of regional obesity were advanced age, smoking and obesity on body mass index (BMI) for visceral obesity;advanced age, female gender, alcoh.l intake and obesity on BMI and waist circumference (WC) as well as h.pertriglyceridemia for subcutaneous obesity. Conclusion: Th.s study sh.wed a significant frequency of regional obesity with.th. following determinants: advanced age, female gender, smoking, alcoh.l, BMI/WC obesity and h.pertriglyceridemia.

h.igh.:1.5;">Introduction: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is among the most common infections in cirrhotic patients. Data on SBP are rare in Cameroon. This prompted us to carry out this study on patients with decompensated cirrhosis of the liver in Yaounde University Hospital Centre (YUHC). Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional study from December 2015 to June 2016 in three units of YUHC. All patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis were included. Our sampling was consecutive. Diagnosis of cirrhosis was performed, based on clinical, biological and ultrasound criteria. A neutrophil count greater than 250 cell/mm3 in ascites fluid defined an SBP. Data on socio-demography, clinical presentation, and outcomes were collected. Results: We included 34 decompensated cirrhotic patients (15 males). Patients mean age was 57.5 ± 2 years (SBP positive: 48.7 ± 21.3 versus without SBP: 59.8 ± 19.5, p = 0.22). SBP diagnosis was made in 6 (17.7%) patients. Compared to patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis and without SBP, positive SBP patients had a higher pulse rate (p = 0.002) and respiratory rate (p = h.igh.:1.5;">0.02). Background: Ch.onic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative blood neoplasia, ch.racterized by th. presence of a translocation between ch.omosomes 9 and 22 leading to th. formation of th. Ph.ladelph.a ch.omosome. Data on th. biological profile of patients with.CML at diagnosis are still lacking in sub-Sah.ran Africa, particularly in Cameroon. Meth.ds: A cross-sectional study was carried out from January 2001 to July 2016 among patients recently diagnosed with.CML at th. Yaounde University Teach.ng h.spital, th. Yaoundé Central h.spital and th. Yaoundé General h.spital. Analyzed variables included socio-demograph.c, clinical presentation, th. diagnosis means, biological parameters (h.matological and bioch.mical). Sampling was consecutive. Results: We included 132 (76 males) patients with.CML with.a median age of 39.2 years at diagnosis. Th. 31 - 45 years age group was th. most represented, with.40.9% of th. study population. A risk factor was found in only 5 (3.8%) of patients. Clinical manifestations were recorded in only 27 (20.45%) patients, with.fatigue being th. commonest (10.6%). Almost all patients (128, 96.9%) h.ve performed th. karyotype wh.le 22 (16.7%) h.ve performed fluorescence in situ h.bridization (FISh. and 4 (3.0%) th. PCR. At diagnosis, 66% of th. patients were in th. ch.onic ph.se (CP), 11.3% in accelerated ph.se (AP), and 22.7% in blast crisis (BC). All patients presented h.perleukocytosis, with.a wh.te blood cell mean of 128,362/mm3. Anemia was common (77.3%), usually moderate (61.4%). Th.ombocytopenia was rare (8.3%), as far as basoph.lia (1.2%). Background: Maternal death.is a major public h.alth.problem worldwide, particularly in sub-Sah.ran Africa. Departmental University Teach.ng h.spital of Borgou Alibori (Ch.D-BA) from 2017 to 2021. Meth.d: Th.s was a retrospective cross-sectional study with.descriptive and analytical purposes. Th. study population consisted of pregnant women, parturients and puerperas admitted into th. Ch.D-BA maternity ward from 2017 to 2021. Result: A total of 2011 patients were included in th.s study. Th. in-h.spital maternal mortality ratio was 1526 per 100,000 live birth.. 对有粘结后张预应力混凝土梁的结构响应进行试验研究,建立数值分析模型。试验模拟了应力锈蚀的破坏效果,以及粘结筋在断裂端锚固的发展过程。测量了从加载到破坏的残余结构性能。考虑局部和整体参数,对带粘结预应力筋破坏以及加载梁的不同阶段,采用具有界面单元的非线性有限元模型进行模拟。假定预应力筋断裂引起的破坏分布出现在不同的位置,对不同的破坏模式进行了研究,总结了预应力结构的退化性能。

为构建哺乳类人工染色体(MAC),端粒DNA被用于切割Ch.细胞内的人类Y染色体,获得一系列小染色体。这些小染色体在Ch.细胞内具有染色体的正常功能。小染色体△△2,约4 Mb大小,被转移到鼠胚胎干(ES)细胞(CGR8)。△△2在CGR8内容易发生重组,在无选择的情况下,一般很快丢失。但重组的小染色体St,约4.5Mb大小,在CGR8中能够正常复制、分离,并保持完整性。St获得了老鼠的minor及major卫星DNA顺序。这些顺序可能与老鼠着丝点功能有关。酶切图谱提示St是由若干个亚克隆组成。亚克隆St-D已被分离。St-D已被分离。StD正在不同的体外培养细胞系及老鼠体内进行有丝分裂及减数分裂功能测试。其酶切图谱已基本弄清。作为第一代MAC,St-D正在被用于克隆老鼠着丝点DNA顺序及人类16号染色体长臂。

Pterocarpus erinaceus is a h.gh.socio-economic tree of African savannah.. It is overexploited due to tech.ological qualities of its wood, forage value and medicinal uses. Th. main objective of th.s study is th. assessment of th. morph.logical variability with.n th.s species in Cote d’Ivoire, in sigh. of rational management. Fourteen morph.logical traits were used to appraise th. variability with.n 144 trees in production from six sites (Yalo, Moyenne Marah.ué, Kah.nso, Kouassi-Ndawa, Ouarigué and Téguirdouo). Th. results indicate th.t th. variability reach.s 6.60 for th. h.igh. of th. fruit and 45.99 for th. weigh. of th. fruit. Th. results reveal also th.t th.re are th.ee morph.logical groups of P. erinaceus in Cote d’Ivoire. Of th. four traits th.t revealed a distinction among th. th.ee morph.types, only th. width.of leaves and th. number of leaflets enabled th.ir complete distinction. Trees of group 1 h.ve long leaves with.a h.gh.number of leaflets and large fruits. Trees of group 2 h.ve small leaves with.a reduced number of leaflets and large fruits. Th.n trees of group 3 h.ve intermediate value of width.of leaves and number of leaflet and small fruits. Th. th.ee morph.logical groups could be useful for varietal selection of P. erinaceus in Cote d’Ivoire.

Th. auth.rs conducted an analytical cross-sectional study over a period of 3 month. among h.pertensive patients, in order to determine th. frequency of th. erectile dysfunction (ED), and to identify th. predictive factors. It included treated h.pertensive patients, presenting an ED, defined as th. incapacity to obtain or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. On 265 h.pertensive patients, 172 (65%) presented an ED. Th. average age was 58.2 ± 9.7 years. Th. associated cardiovascular risk factors were overweigh./obesity in 99 cases (37.4%), sedentariness in 90 cases (34%), diabetes mellitus in 50 cases (19%), dyslipidemia in 12 cases (4.5%), and tobacco addiction in 6 cases (2.3%). Arterial h.pertension (h.N), old of 6.7 ± 5.8 years, was treated by bith.rapy in 129 cases (48.7%), and trith.rapy in 102 cases (38.5%). Th. principal th.rapeutic classes used were ACE inh.bitors/ARBs in 213 cases (81%), calcium antagonists in 205 cases (78%), th.azides in 137 cases (52.1%), and beta-blockers in 82 cases (31%). ED, severe in 124 cases (72%), and moderate in 48 cases (28%), consisted of a difficulty to maintain th. erection in 78 cases (45.3%), to obtain th. erection in 30 cases (17.4%), and th. two partners in 64 cases (37.2%). In multivariate analysis, only th. age, seniority of h.N, and th. existence of diabetes mellitus were th. predictive factors of ED. Th. early and effective assumption of responsibility of th. Ah., as well as oth.r cardiovascular risk factors wh.se diabetes, would make it possible to reduce th. frequency of it, th.s improving quality of life of th. h.pertensive patients.

A cross-sectional study of h.pertensive patients was carried out in Brazzaville between January 2011 and December 2013.?Th. objectives of th. present study are to determine th. different types of left ventricular h.pertroph. (LVh.?and to identify th. predictive factors of LVh. It included 556 h.pertensive patients with.LVh. ch.racterized by left ventricular mass index (LVMI) > 135 g/m2?in men, and > 111 g/m2?in women. Patients’ sociodemograph.c data and ech.cardiograph.c parameters were gath.red and analyzed. Th.re were 342 males (61.5%) and 214 females (38.5%),?with.mean age 53.5 ± 11.5 years. Th. indications of th. test were h.pertension initial evaluation in 402 cases (72.3%), investigation of isch.mic stroke in 62 cases (11.2%), h.art failure in 58 cases (10.4%), dyspnea and ch.st pain in respectively 22 and 12 cases. h.pertension, old of 5.2 ± 4.5 years, was associated with.overweigh./obesity in 408 cases (73.4%), ph.sical inactivity in 325 cases (58.5%), h.pertension family h.story in 274 cases (49.3%), diabetes mellitus in 76 cases (13.7%), dyslipidemia in 63 cases (11.3%), tobacco use in 9 cases (1.6%). Th. prevalence of LVh.was 49.4% and consisted into concentric LVh.in 470 cases (84.5%), eccentric LVh.in 70 cases (12.6%), and in 16 cases (2.9%),?it was a concentric left ventricular remodeling. Age, male gender, seniority of h.pertension and treatment were predictive factors of LVh. Th. latter is th. most predominant abnormality in th. ech.cardiograph.c profile of Congolese h.pertensive patients. Efficient management on h.pertension will lead to reducing its morbidity and mortality.
