Usually the oral manifestations of NHL are secondary to a more widespread involvement throughout the body, however, it can rarely present as a primary lesion in the oral cavity, having 0.1% - 0.2% prevalence. In this paper we report a case of highly proliferative oral non-Hodgkin lymphoma which presented with very mild symptoms, but had a sudden and significant progression in less than two weeks with involvement of all four quadrants of the oral cavity.

OBJECTIVE Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease with vari-able biological and clinical *** conducted a studyto evaluate P53,HER-2/neu and hormonal receptor expression aspredictors of prognosis in breast *** In a prospective study,we recruited 81 consecutivepatients with primary operable breast cancer who were treatedwith mastectomy followed by locoregional radiotherapy or che-motherapy and studied the presence of P53,HER-2/neu andhormonal receptors (ER/PR) expression in tumor tissues by im-munohistochemical *** between these markersexpression and clinical outcomes,including local and regionalrecurrence and metastasis were *** analysis wasperformed with the SPSS *** The mean time of follow-up was (47.3±4.6) *** of P53,HER-2/neu,Estrogen receptors and progester-one receptors were observed in 31.1%,38.5%,31.8% and 51.7% ofthe patients,respectively.P53,HER-2/neu and Negative ER statuswere potent predictors of local-regional recurrence (P=0.034,0.038,0.044,respectively).Also HER-2/neu,Negative ER and NegativePR status were strong predictors of metastasis (P=0.001,0.042,0.054,respectively).CONCLUSION P53 and HER-2/neu expression and also steroidreceptors status (ER/PR status) have an important role in predict-ing the outcome of breast cancer and thus may be of value in se-lecting suitable therapeutic strategy and determining prognosis inthese patients.

Microcystin Levels in Selected Cyanobacteria Exposed to Varying Salinity

Microcystins produced by cyanobacteria pose a great threat to human health by releasing toxins upon cell death. In the present study, we studied microcystin production in the cyanobacterial strains Anabaena cylindrica (B629 and 2949) and Fremyella diplosiphon (SF33) exposed to 1, 2 and 4 g/L sodium chloride (NaCl). Cultures grown for 7 days in BG11/HEPES medium were pelleted, re-grown in the corresponding NaCl levels, and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) performed. ELISA assays revealed enhanced microcystin production in A. cylindrica B629 exposed to 4 g/L NaCl and A. cylindrica 29414 exposed to 2 and 4 g/L NaCl, after growth in the corresponding NaCl levels for 14 days. We observed a significant decrease (p > 0.05) in microcystin levels in the control strains after exposure to NaCl for 5 days. After exposure to 1, 2, or 4 g/L NaCl for 10 days, no microcystin release was observed in A. cylindrica B629, A. cylindrica 29414 or F. diplosiphon SF33. Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis identified the presence of an additional band at 120 - 130 kDa in A. cylindrica B629 exposed to 2 and 4 g/L NaCl, and at 14 kDa in cultures amended with 1 and 2 g/L NaCl as well as the untreated control, indicating that exposure to salinity induces alterations in protein expression.

In this research KCl, KCl:Mn, KCl:Ag and KCl:In single crystals have been grown by Czochralski method. X-ray diffraction confirms KCl single crystal formation. In this work also influence of mentioned impurities on the optical property of KCl single crystal has been studied by chemical etching. Then the hardness of these crystals have been measured by Vickers micro hardness. The result indicate the positive effect of the impurity on optical and mechanical properties.

Human Endometrial Stem Cells May Differentiate into Schwann Cells in Fibrin Gel as 3D Culture

Damage in central nervous system plays an important role in biological life and causes severe paralysis of limbs and some organs. There are solutions to problems that can be a great revolution in the transplanted spinal cord and nerve injuries. Schwann cells (SCs) have important roles in development, myelination and regeneration in the peripheral nervous system. The applications of SCs in regenerative medicine are limited because of slow growth rate and difficulties in harvesting. Critical to the hypothesis is the experimental fact that human endometrial-derived stem cells (hEnSCs) as multipotent accessible source of cells are known as useful cell candidates in the field of nerve tissue engineering. We decided to use the three-dimensional culture of Schwann cells differentiated from endometrial stem cell in fibrin gel. In this study, we investigate the expression of differentiated Schwann cell markers by exposing of endometrial stem cells with induction media including FGF2/FSK/HRG/RA. Using immunocytochemistry, we show that differentiated cells express S100 and P75 markers. These results show that for the first time, human endometrial stem cells can be differentiated into Schwann cells in 2D and 3D culture. These novel differentiated cells in fibrin gel might open new opportunities for the management of cell survival and neurotrophic potential in tissue engineering approaches for nerve repair.

Dissemination of carbapenem-non-susceptible Acinetobacter baumannii isolates collected from educational hospitals in Qazvin province of Iran

Background:Acinetobacter baumannii(***)is known as an opportunistic pathogen related to health-care-associated infection that has a high antibiotic resistance potential,notably against carbapenems that are widely used to combat *** *** study aimed to detect oxacillin-hydrolyzing(OXA)carbapenemases and metallo-β-lactamases(MBL)among carbapenem-resistant *** isolated strains and to determine their clonal relationship by repetitive extragenic palindromic PCR(rep-PCR).Methods:In the present study,a total of 211 non-repetitive isolates of *** were collected from Qazvin educational hospitals(2016–2017).The disk diffusion method was used to investigate the antibiotic susceptibility of studied strains,followed by the detection of MBL and OXA-type genes using polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and sequencing *** rep-PCR method assessed the clonal relationship of carbapenem-non-susceptible *** ***:The obtained results showed that 87.2%and 86.7%of isolates were non-susceptible to imipenem and *** blaOXA-24(93.5%)was the most frequent gene,followed by the blaOXA-23(4.34%),blaIMP-1(1.63%),and blaVIM-1(0.54%).Meanwhile,blaOXA-58 and blaOXA-143 genes were not found.81.5%and 66.1%of isolates contained ISAba1 upstream of the blaOXA-23 and blaOXA-58 genes,***-PCR results revealed the carbapenem non-susceptible isolates belonged to three distinct clones:A 171(81%),B 34(16.1%),and C 6(2.8%).Conclusions:The results indicated a high prevalence of carbapenem-non-susceptible ***,with the emergence of the blaOXA-24 gene as the most common gene and the notable prevalence of MBL *** results revealed the need for appropriate therapeutic and infection control strategies and monitoring susceptibility patterns for controlling *** infections.

National Breast Cancer Mortality and Incidence Rates According to the Human Development Index: An Ecological Study

Background: This study aimed to identify the role of human development index (HDI) in the incidence and mortality rates of breast cancer (BC) worldwide. Methods: Data on the age-standardized incidence and mortality rates of BC for 184 countries were obtained from the GLOBOCAN. Data about the HDI and other indices were obtained from the World Bank Report 2013. Linear regression model was used for assessment the effect of HDI on BC occurrence rates. Results: In 2012, BCs were estimated to have affected a total of 1,671,149 individuals (crude rate: 47.8 per 100,000 individuals), and caused 521,907 deaths worldwide (crude rate: 14.7 per 100,000 individuals). Nearly half of total female BC cases (46.3%) with the highest risk of incidence (age-standardized Rate (ASR): 128 per 100,000) had occurred in very high HDI regions. The most proportion of the mortality burden was in low HDI and medium HDI areas. Linear regression analyses showed a direct significant correlation between the incidence of BC and HDI at the global level (B = 104.5, P < 0.001). The mortality rate of BC was not significantly associated with HDI (B = 3.26, P = 0.160). Conclusion: Our study showed that the burden of female BC is enormous in very high HDI and low HID regions. Targeted interventions have the ability to reduce this number significantly through resource-dependent interventions. Moreover, further reductions in mortality could be brought about by increasing access to curative treatment for patients with BC.

The Survey of Self-Regulation Behaviors and Related Factors in Elderly with Hypertension in South-East of Iran

Hypertension is one of the most important risk factors for heart diseases today. The effect of hypertension in the elderly is higher than other age groups and it may lead to changes in their quality of life. By the increase of age, the amount of self-care behaviors of patients with hypertension decreased. Therefore, control and self-care behaviors are so important. This study has been conducted to study self-regulation behaviors and Associated Factors in elderly patients with hypertension. This study was a cross sectional, descriptive analytic study, which was conducted using multistage sampling on the elderly 60 years and above with hypertension. The sample size was calculated 365 and the final sample size of 380 people was considered by possible losses. The instruments include of demographic and self-regulatory behaviors questionnaire. The results showed that self-regulation of behavior was 42.3% of the total score. In terms of quality, only 7.4% of the elderly had good behavior, 46.6% of poor performance, and the rest were mediocre performance. Age (p = 0.03), gender (p = 0.02), education (p = 0.001), income level (p = 0.03) and marital status (p = 0.001) significantly associated with behaviors of self-regulation. The results generally indicate unfavorable self-regulation of elderly patients with hypertension. Some variables such as gender, age, marital status, education and income levels were associated with these behaviors. So paying attention to the education of the elderly in care centers is essential.
