Chili(Capsicum annuum L.)is the popular spicy vegetable crops belonging to family *** peppers are known for their pungency characteristic due to the presence of capsaicinoids that classifies them into hot or sweet *** is used as spices,folk remedies for diseases,vegetables,and coloring agent showing a diverse role in human’s ***,its production is hampered by different biotic stress and abiotic ***,the unavailability of high yielding varieties,high temperature,and disease incidence,particularly,anthracnose disease,are the major constraints responsible for the low production of chili *** advents of molecular markers,advancement in quantitative trait loci by classical genetic analysis,and conventional breeding have shown the number of genes for many important and major *** the newly developed genotyping technologies and nextgeneration sequencing have led to the discovery of molecular basis for economic important characters in the chili genome and generate large scale data for genomic *** on this background,this review summarizes progress in the development of anthracnose disease-resistant and heat-tolerant chili genotypes through conventional breeding and molecular *** review would help plant breeders in understanding the phenotypic and genetic make-up of capsicum genotypes and provides opportunities for pyramiding two respected genes with the help of diversified phenotypic and molecular marker evaluation.

The metaheuristics algorithm is increasingly important in solving many kinds of real-life optimization problems but the implementation involves programming difficulties. As a result, many researchers have relied on software framework to accelerate the development life cycle. However, the available software frameworks were mostly designed for rapid development rather than flexible programming. Therefore, in order to extend software functions, this approach involves modifying software libraries which requires the programmers to have in-depth understanding about the internal working structure of software and the programming language. Besides, it has restricted programmers for implementing flexible user-defined low-level hybridization. This paper presents the concepts and formal definition of metaheuristics and its low-level hybridization. In addition, the weaknesses of current programming approaches supported by available software frameworks for metaheuristics are discussed. Responding to the deficiencies, this paper introduces a rapid and flexible software framework with scripting language environment. This approach is more flexible for programmers to create a variety of user-defined low-level hybridization rather than bounded with built-in metaheuristics strategy in software libraries.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial effectiveness of commercial herbal-based mouthrinses against oral microorganisms. Methods: A total of three mouthrinses(OX, Pesona and Watsons) were tested for their antimicrobial activity against six oral organisms, streptococcus mutans(s. mutans), streptococcus sobrinus(s. sobrinus), Lactobacillus salivarius(L. salivarius), staphylococcus aureus(s. aureus), Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P. aeruginosa) and Candida albicans(C. albicans) by standard agar-disk diffusion assay. Oradex mouthrinse containing 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate and sterile distilled water was served as positive and negative controls, respectively. Results: All mouthrinse formulations were effective in inhibiting the growth of s. mutans, s. sobrinus, L. salivarius and C. albicans. Among the tested mouthrinses, Pesona was the only effective mouthrinse against s. aureus and P. aeruginosa, similar to Oradex mouthrinse. Pesona mouthrinse formulation appears to be as effective as Oradex mouthrinse formulation to kill s. aureus and P. aeruginosa. statistical analysis showed no significant difference among the tested formulations regarding their antimicrobial activities(P > 0.05).Conclusions: Pesona was not the only herbal mouthrinse effective in inhibiting the growth of s. mutans, s. sobrinus, L. salivarius and C. albicans in vitro. All tested formulations were effective against those strains. Our findings may serve as a guide for selecting a kind of herbal mouthrinses as well as providing information to the dental professionals about the efficacy of these products.

Chitin is the second most abundant polysaccharide,produced mainly as an industrial waste stream during crustacean *** can be derived into chitosan through the deacetylation *** of shrimp waste into chitosan via the deacetylation process could be considered a practical approach for shell waste *** this study,chitosan’s physicochemical characteristics extracted from two types of Pacific white leg shrimp,***’s shell(i.e.,rough and smooth),were compared with commercial *** yield,moisture,ash,solubility,water and fat binding capacity were *** degree of deacetylation(DDA)was calculated using FTIR,and their chemical structure was confirmed using XRD and *** extracted chitosan showed no significant difference in yield,moisture,ash,solubility and water binding capacity but showed a significant difference with commercial ***,the fat binding capacity of commercial chitosan showed the lowest percentage(408.34±0.83%)as compared to extracted chitosan(smooth shell 549.59±12.48%;rough shell 500.55±12.10%).The DDA indicated that extracted chitosan from the smooth and rough shell was considered good chitosan as compared to commercial chitosan with 84.08±1.27%,80.78±0.79%and 74.99±1.48%,***,the presence of hydroxyl and amino groups from FTIR and a good crystallinity index was recorded using XRD of extracted *** on observed characteristics,shrimp shell waste from *** can achieve chitosan standard quality as a biopolymer and highly potential to be applied in various industrial applications.

Objective: To investigate the status of strongyloides(s.) stercoralis infections among migrant workers in Malaysia for the first time and identify risk ***: Four diagnostic methods were employed for the detection of s. stercoralis including microscopy, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELIsA) using a commercial kit, ELIsA using the rss1a antigen and polymerase chain reaction(PCR). Low and semi-skilled workers from five working sectors(i.e. manufacturing, food service, agriculture and plantation, construction and domestic service) were tested on a voluntary basis. Results: The overall seroprevalence of s. stercoralis from 483 workers employing the ELIsA commercial kit for IgG was 35.8%(n=173;95% CI: 31.5%-40.1%) whereas seroprevalence using the rss1a-ELIsA was 13.0%(n=63;95% CI: 10.0%-16.0%). Cross tabulation between the ELIsA commercial kit and rss1a-ELIsA showed that only 6.4%(n=31;95% CI: 4.2%-8.6%) of the samples were positive in both tests. Microscopic examination of all 388 fecal samples were negative;however subsequent testing by a nested PCR against DNA from the same samples successfully amplified DNA from three male subjects(0.8%;3/388). Male workers, India and Myanmar nationality, food service occupation and those living in the hostel were statistically significant with seroprevalence(Psion: This is the first report on the epidemiology of s. stercoralis infections among the migrant workers in Malaysia. Our results highlight the importance of using appropriate diagnostic tools for detection. The presence of anti-s. stercoralis antibodies in the study population calls for improvements in personal hygiene and sanitation standards among migrant workers in Malaysia through control strategies including health education campaigns and programs aimed at increasing awareness and healthy behaviors.

In the present work, elements concentration in fingernails samples of volunteers of different ages (males, females) were determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAs) Perkin-Elmer, spectrophotometer. Fingernails samples of different groups were analyzed to determine the trace elements Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Co, Zn and Pb. standards materials were prepared for concentration assessment that adjacent to samples from two cities in different location in eastern province of sudan for elements concentrations finding. In addition, samples of hands fingernails and toenails were analyzed for comparison and method validation. Consequently, the significant levels of elements concentration in nails samples of Jabiat residents compared to Port sudan resident’s area due to soil dispersion are supporting the possibility of external contamination. The data of component matrix and rotated component matrix of varimax normalization using principal component analysis revealed important predictors of nails elements Mg, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn concentrations in soil of both areas under study. However, the Pb, Ni, Ca, and Co are possible to be indication of different sources associated with environmental contamination. The significant correlation and principal component analysis of the elements of nails concentrations in the two categories supported the probability of different expose environmental contamination.

AIM:To assess the possible association between PTPN22(R620W) gene polymorphism and inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODs:One hundred and sixty-four patients with IBD 105 Crohn's disease(CD) and 59 ulcerative colitis(UC) and 100 healthy controls were *** of the PTPN22 gene 1858C→T polymorphism was performed by restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction with Rsa Ⅰ ***:The genotypic and allelic frequencies of(R620W) PTPN22 gene polymorphism reveal a significant association of the PTPN22 620-W allele with IBD,compared to the healthy control group(OR:17.81,95% CI:4.18-21.86,P = 0.00001).Nevertheless,nodifference in this polymorphism was found between CD and UC *** significant association was found between the frequencies of genotypes of the PTPN22 gene with either the clinical features such as sex,age,age at disease onset,and extent of colitis,or the production of serological markers(anti-saccharomyces cerevisiae antibody in CD and perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody in UC).CONCLUsION:These observations confirm the association of IBD susceptibility with the PTPN22 1858T(620-W) allele in Tunisian patients.

The objectives of this study are to determine the settlement and leachate generation from landfill lysimeters of municipal solid waste. Two identical lysimeters with a diameter and height of 0.70 m and 2.40 m were prepared, respectively. The lysimeters were operated with and without leachate recirculation treatment. The settlement and leachate generation were quantified daily. The analysis of settlement was conducted by using hyperbolic function and curve fitting. Based on the experiments result, it is observed that garbage pile settlement in lysimeter treated with leachate recirculation （L-2） is higher than without recirculation treatment （L-1） as showed by the hyperbolic function and curve fitting result. The ultimate settlement （s_wlt） for L-1 and L-2 that used hyperbolic function were 0.487 m and 0.53 m, respectively. Meanwhile （s_wlt） that using curve fitting resulted 0.74 m, and 0.68 m for L-1 and L-2, respectively. The lysimeter which treated with leachate recirculation treatment showed a higher leachate height than without the treatment.

Purpose: Pain assessment is a key component of good pain management in hospitalized *** study aimed to translate and adapt a version of pain measurement in infants,the Premature Infant Pain Profile Revised (PIPP-R) into ***: The adaptation process of the measuring instrument used a modified Brislin method which included forward translation,back translation 1,group discussion 1,back translation 2,group discussion 2,and pilot testing on neonatal nurses: feasibility test,inter-rater reliability using intraclass correlation (ICC),and internal consistency using Cronbach's α ***: The PIPP-R version in English has been translated into *** general,nurses assessed this measuring instrument as *** inter-rater reliability showed a high agreement (ICC =0.968,P=0.001) and this measuring instrument had good internal consistency (Cronbach's α=0.856).Conclusion: The Indonesian version of PIPP-R is easy to use and shows good psychometric *** use of this measuring instrument will help nurses and researchers obtain accurate infant pain intensity measurement values.
