Excipient effect on antimicrobial activity of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zelylanicum album) oil, Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) oil and Ajowan (Trachyspermum ammi) oil

Background:Many herbal essential oils are potential antimicrobials but their pharmaceutical utility is restricted due to a lack of suitable excipients to mollify their dermatotoxicity and irritant property,and outcome of their therapeutic use may vary with different diluents ***:Effect of 16 diluents(dimethyl sulfoxide,liquid paraffin,glycerine,oils of mustard,sunflower,rice bran,palm,groundnut,olive,coconut,sesame,avocado,jojoba,castor,linseed and soybean)was assessed on antimicrobial activity of 2%cinnamon(Cinnamomum zelylanicum album),thyme(Thymus vulgaris)and ajowan(Trachyspermum ammi)oils using agar well diffusion *** effect of excipients was evaluated on six Candida albicans,five Escherichia coli,four Acinetobacter lwoffii,two strains each of Staphylococcus aureus,Enterobacter agglomerans,and Enterococcus faecium and one strain each of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus,Escherichia fergusonii,Klebsiella oxytoca,*** ***,Leclercia adecarboxylata,Paenibacillus amylolyticus,Proteus mirabilis,***,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,raoultella terrigena,Staphylococcus capitis ***,***,***,*** and Streptococcus ***:Thyme oil(2%)maintained it antimicrobial activity on dilution in dimethyl sulfoxide and glycerine,and ajowan oil(2%)completely lost its antibacterial activity in all diluents except dimethyl ***,cinnamon oil partially lost its antimicrobial activity upon dilution in glycerine,vegetable,and mineral oils in comparison to dimethyl *** oil was the best vegetable oil,almost comparable to dimethyl sulfoxide and castor oil was the worst diluent for maintaining antimicrobial activity of cinnamon ***:The study indicated the non-suitability of vegetable oils for pharmaceutical formulations of essential oils except olive oil for dilution of cinnamon oil and glycerol for thyme oil to replace dimethyl sulfoxide as diluent.

Comparative antimicrobial activity in Murrah buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) Heifers’ urine and urine distillate

Background:Murrah buffalo is a breed of water buffalo(Bubalus bubalis)reared for milk and meat,especially in Northern *** are so many studies on the antimicrobial potential of the cow(Bos indicus)urine but buffalo urine has rarely been *** study was aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity in whole buffalo urine and its ***:Urine specimens were collected from seven Murrah buffalo heifers in the morning over three days from all seven heifers and distillated to prepare urine distillate(UD).The antimicrobial activity was determined through 96 well microplate method diluting(1:1)urine and UD in Mueller Hinton liquid medium against 919 microbial strains belonging to 148 species of 49 genera(Candia,11 genera of Gram+ve bacteria,37 genera of Gram-ve bacteria).The test strains were taken from the repository,revived and tested for purity before *** test strains were of clinical origin(372),environmental origin(496)and also from reference strain repositories(51).results:Of the 919 test strains,a total of 57.89%and 56.04%of the tested strains were susceptible to UD and urine,*** was a no significant(p>0.4)difference in the antimicrobial activity of UD and urine against 919 strains of microbes,regardless of their genus,species,and Gram staining ***,there was no significant(p>0.4)difference between the susceptibility of bacterial and Candida strains to UD or ***,strains of clinical origin were more often resistant to buffalo UD and urine(prains isolated from environmental sources irrespective of their Gram staining characteristics(p>0.05).A significantly(pr proportion of reference strains was susceptible to UD and urine than microbial strains of clinical and environmental *** buffalo urine and UD,the most susceptible strains were Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(13/13)followed by Citrobacter freundii(8/10);Salmonella enterica ***(21/27),Geobacillus stearothermo

The effect of carbapenem resistance in Klebsiellae on infection outcomes in animals and birds

It is often said that the emergence of antimicrobial drug resistance(AMr)in pathogens is the major cause of *** the present study,clinical microbiology data on infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae strains and their antimicrobial drug resistance specifically to carbapenems retrieved from Clinical Epidemiology database of the Institute were analysed to determine the impact of carbapenem resistance in Klebsiellae isolated from the clinical samples of veterinary cases and outcome of the infection because in a few recent reports it is claimed that the presence of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiellae is associated with higher mortality in humans due to Klebsiella *** retrospective analysis of Klebsiella infections in animals and birds revealed that 21.8%of *** causing pneumonic or septicemic infections were carbapenem-resistant but the carbapenem resistance was not associated with increased numbers of deaths or *** may be probably due to the fact that carbapenem drugs were not used for the treatment of infected animals and carbapenem resistance may not be associated with the lethality potential of Klebsiellae.

Objective:To compare histopathology and PCr based detection in diagnosis of experimentally induced toxoplasmosis of rH human strain of the parasite in murine ***:A comparison of histopathology and PCr based detection was done to diagnose experimentally induced toxoplasmosis in ten inbred swiss albino mice after intraperitoneal inoculation of 100 tachyzoites of laboratory mantained human rH strain of the *** samples from lung,liver,spleen,brain,heart and kidney were taken and processed for histopathological examination while all the samples also were subjected to PCr,using primers directed to the multicopy of SAG 3 gene,in ***:Histopathology revealed presence of tachyzoites only in liver while along with lung,liver,spleen and brain tissue yielded desired positive PCr ***:The SAG 3 based PCr is able to diagnose toxoplasmosis in those tissues which are declared negative by histopathological assay.

Stability Analysis of Parallel Fuzzy P + Fuzzy I + Fuzzy D Control Systems

The study presented in this paper is in continuation with the paper published by the authors on parallel fuzzy proportional plus fuzzy integral plus fuzzy derivative （FP ＋ FI ＋ FD） controller. It addresses the stability analysis of parallel FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller. The famous＂small gain theorem＂ is used to study the bounded-input and bounded-output （BIBO） stability of the fuzzy controller. Sufficient BIBO-stability conditions are developed for parallel FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller. FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller is derived from the conventional parallel proportional plus integral plus derivative （PID） controller. The parallel FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller is actually a nonlinear controller with variable gains. It shows much better set-point tracking, disturbance rejection and noise suppression for nonlinear processes as compared to conventional PID controller.

This article involves the study of atmospheric internal waves phenomenon,also referred to as gravity *** phenomenon occurs inside the fluid,not on the *** model is based on a shallow fluid hypothesis represented by a system of nonlinear partial differential *** basic assumption of the shallow flow model is that the horizontal size is much larger than the vertical *** internal waves can be perfectly represented by this model as the waves are spread over a large horizontal *** we used the Elzaki Adomian Decomposition Method(EADM)to obtain the solution for the considered model along with its convergence *** Adomian decomposition method together with the Elzaki transform gives the solution in a convergent series without any linearization or *** are built between the results obtained by EADM and HAM to examine the accuracy of the proposed method.

The paper deals with the study of the mathematical model of tsunami wave propagation along a coast-line of an *** model is based on shallow-water assumption which is represented by a system of non-linear partial differential *** this study,we employ the Elzaki Adomian Decomposition Method(EADM)to successfully obtain the solution for the proposed model for different coastal slopes and ocean *** tsunami wave velocity and run-up height are affected by the coast slope and sea depth are *** Adomian Decomposition Method together with Elzaki transform allows for solutions,without the need of any linearization or perturbation,in the form of rapidly converging *** obtained numerical results for tsunami wave height and velocity are very close match to the real physical phenomenon of tsunami.

The persistence and performance (growth promoting potential) of green fluorescent protein (gfp) marked Azotobacter chroococcum strain ABr 4G were studied in sterilized and unsterilized wheat rhizospheric soil. The gfp was integrated via Tn 5 transposition into A. chroococcum chromosome and the resultant gfp marked colonies were identified by green fluorescent emission under UV light. The gfp was stably maintained in A. chroococcum and the gfp insertion had no apparent adverse effect on the growth promoting properties of the marked soil isolate ABr 4G. The growth promoting properties (nitrogen fixation, ammonia excretion, phosphate solubilization and IAA production) of the parent soil isolate and the gfp marked strain were found to be almost the same. All the quantitative wheat plant traits were significantly influenced by inoculation of A. chroococcum ABr 4G strain in sterilized and unsterilized soil. Inoculated bacterial counts increased gradually in wheat rhizosphere, reached maximum on 60 th d and declined on 80 th d. Fertility levels also affected survival of marked strain and the survival was comparable in sterilized and unsterilized soil.
