The effect of water deficit was determined on both in vitro and soil seedling as well as in cells in suspension of Agave americana *** order to do the establishment of cells,the formation of callus was induced;for it two auxins were evaluated:2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D)and 4-mino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid(picloram)at three concentrations(0.25,0.5 and 0.75 mg L−1)in three explants(leaf,root and meristems)cultured in MS semisolid *** callogenesis response was related to the type and section of the explant,as well as the regulator used,and a cell suspension was established using 0.5 mg L−1 naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA)+0.5 mg L−1 Benzylaminopurine(BAP).Seedlings were exposed to polyethyleneglycol(15%and 30%w/v)with a water potential of−0.87 and−2.67 MPa,respectively,under soil *** stress was applied through restricted *** weight,root system growth,and chlorophyll concentration were some of the parameters that were affected by the effect of water deficit on *** *** concentration values were significantly decreased by 15 at 30%PEg(19.6 SPAD units)compared to the control *** in vitro plants,the highest concentration of proline was found in the roots,being the treatment with 30%polyethylene glycol where the highest concentration of this osmoregulator was obtained(62.5 mg g−1 DW).Under restricted irrigation conditions,an increase in proline concentration was observed both in the aerial part(2.2μg 100 g−1 DW)and in the root system(1.8μg 100 g−1 DW).However,the concentrations found were approximately ten times greater,less than those found under in vitro ***,the accumulation of proline can be considered an indicator of stress in Agave Americana *** in vitro.

Airborne bacteria associated with particulate matter from a highly urbanised metropolis:A potential risk to the population’s health

Bacteria in the air present patterns in space and time produced by different sources and environmental *** studies have focused on the link between airborne pathogenic bacteria in densely populated cities,and the risk to the population’s *** associated with particulate matter(PM)were monitored from the air of Mexico City(Mexico).We employed a metagenomic approach to characterise bacteria using the 16S rRNA *** bacteria sampling was carried out in the north,centre,and south of Mexico City,with different urbanisation rates,during *** added to the particles were sampled using high-volume PM_(10) *** ascertain significant differences in bacterial diversity between zones and seasons,the Kruskal-Wallis,Wilcoxon tests were done on alpha diversity ***-three air samples were collected,and DNA was sequenced using next-generation *** results indicated that the bacterial phyla in the north and south of the city were Firmicutes,Cyanobacteria,Proteobacteria,and Actinobacteria,while in the central zone there were more *** were no differences in the alpha diversity indices between the sampled *** to the OTUs,the richness of bacteria was higher in the central *** diversity was higher in the rainy season than in the dry season;the Shannon index and the OTUs observed were higher in the central zone in the dry *** bacteria such as Kocuria,Paracoccus,and Micrococcus predominated in both seasonal times,while Staphylococcus,Corynebacterium,and Nocardioides were found during the rainy season,with a presence in the central zone.

Temporal dynamics of shallow subtidal meiobenthos from a beach in Tenerife (Canary Islands, northeast Atlantic Ocean)

A shallow subtidal （3 m deep） meiofaunal assemblage in Los Abrigos Bay, Tenerife, Canary Islands was sam- pled during May 2000-April 2001. The main aims were to （1） find temporal variations in meiofaunal assem- blage structure and overall abundance, as well as in the most abundant meiofaunal species throughout the study period, and （2） identify environmental variables （sedimentary composition, organic matter content, and total nitrogen） that better explain meiofaunal assemblage structure during the study year. The most abundant species were the nematodes Siphonolaimus sp. 2 and Catanema sp., which represented 46.2% of the overall meiofaunal abundances and varied significantly throughout the study duration. Overall meio- faunal abundance and the most abundant taxonomic groups （nematodes, copepods, and oligochaetes） showed significant temporal variations during the study period. Nematodes overwhelmingly dominated during the study period, ranging from 78% in May to 97.34% in February. Multivariate analyses showed seasonality in meiofaunal community structure during the study year, with the lowest abundances in May. In recent years,the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) has been on the rise,extending to countries where it was infrequent in the past. As a result,the gap between high and low incidence countries is decreasing. The disease,therefore,has an important economic impact on the healthcare system. Advances in recent years in pharmacogenetics and clinical pharmacology have allowed for the development of treatment strategies adjusted to the patient profile. Concurrently,new drugs aimed at inflammatory targets have been developed that may expand future treatment options. This review examines advances in the optimization of existing drug treatments and the development of novel treatment options for IBD.

QualiTeam: A Support Tool When Learning Software Quality and Testing Concepts

QualiTeam is a web application to support the teaching-learning process on Software Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Testing introductory concepts. It has two main objectives: to facilitate the understanding of concepts learned in theory and to facilitate the monitoring of SW projects that students develop. The system gives the teacher control and the students a guide on the activities that must be carried out throughout a software project development. QualiTeam is a tool conceived to help in the challenge of providing students with concrete examples with which they can practice and clarify the topics taught in the classroom. With it, students can apply concepts that, in the initial training of a software engineer, are generally taught only at a theoretical level such as: review process, change requests, trouble reports, document version control and testing documentation management. QualiTeam is free and available online. It has been in operation for 5 years, through which improvements have been made until achieving a quite stable version.

The lamina cribrosa thickness（LCT） could be affected by dynamic changes in its *** spectral-domainoptical coherence tomography（SD-OCT）,we have studied the behaviour of the laminar region in 14 young subjects over 24 *** changes in LCT were observed,depending on the time at which the measurement was taken,with the maximum thickness being observed at 7.30 p.m.,and the minimum at 7.30 *** finding could suggests a circadian pattern in the LCT thickness in healthy subjects,which could have implications for the classification,diagnosis and prognosis of both normal and glaucomatous subjects.
