Most forest fires in the Margalla hills are related to human activities and socioeconomic factors are essential to assess their likelihood of *** study considers both environmental(altitude,precipitation,forest type,terrain and humidity index)and socioeconomic(population density,distance from roads and urban areas)factors to analyze how human behavior affects the risk of forest *** entropy(Maxent)modelling and random forest(RF)machine learning methods were used to predict the probability and spatial diffusion patterns of forest fires in the Margalla *** receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and the area under the ROC curve(AUC)were used to compare the *** studied the fire history from 1990 to 2019 to establish the relationship between the probability of forest fire and environmental and socioeconomic *** Maxent,the AUC fire probability values for the 1999 s,2009 s,and 2019 s were 0.532,0.569,and 0.518,respectively;using RF,they were 0.782,0.825,and 0.789,*** were mainly distributed in urban areas and their probability of occurrence was related to accessibility and human behaviour/*** principles for validation were greater in the random forest models than in the Maxent *** results can be used to establish preventive measures to reduce risks of forest fires by considering socio-economic and environmental conditions.

Title compounds 2′,2′-dimethylcholesta-2,4-dien[3,2-b]-pyran-4′-one （3）, 2′,2′-dimethyl-3β-substituted cholesta-4,6-dien[7,6- b]-pyran-4′-one （6a,b） and （6c） were prepared by the cyclization of 2-acetylcholesta-2,4-dien-3-ol （2）, 6-acetyl-3β-substituted- cholesta-4,6-dien-7-ol （Sa,b） and （5c） respectively, with pyrrolidine, dry benzene and dry acetone using Dean Stark separator through conventional heating. Furthermore, compounds were also found to be active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Intrinsic magmatic processes are considered as critical operators of plate movements. here we demonstrate the role of extrinsic processes consequent to intrinsic processes as a catalyst for anomalous rapid plate movement. The rapid and accelerated flight of the Indian subcontinent since Deccan volca- nism until its collision with Eurasia remains as one of the geological conundrums. Data on seismic to- mography, peninsular geomorphology and inferences on continuum of subcrustal structures are utilized to address this enigma. We propose geomorphic isostasy as the mechanism that has driven this fastest drift ever recorded in geological history. It was initiated by sudden instability after the Deccan volcanism and resultant extensive accumulation of lava pile over continental lithosphere of northern India, northern-eastern tilt due to crustal thickness heterogeneity and subcrustal thermal stratification. The drift was sustained by Carlsberg and Central Indian ridge-push until collision and sediment top loading at northeast thenceforth. These inferences and geomorphic isostasy as a catalytic mechanism necessitate variability of drift rates as integral inputs for any continental scale modeling.

Development of stability-preserving time-limited model reduction framework for 2-D and 1-D models with error bound

Due to their complex structure,2-D models are challenging to work with;additionally,simulation,analysis,design,and control get increasingly difficult as the order of the model ***,in particular time intervals,Gawronski and Juang’s time-limited model reduction schemes produce an unstable reduced-order model for the 2-D and 1-D *** revealed some stability preservation solutions to address this key flaw which ensure the stability of 1-D reduced-order systems;nevertheless,these strategies result in large approximation ***,to the best of the authors’knowledge,there is no literature available for the stability preserving time-limited-interval Gramian-based model reduction framework for the 2-D discrete-time *** this article,2-D models are decomposed into two separate sub-models(i.e.,two cascaded 1-D models)using the condition of minimal *** reduction procedures are conducted on these obtained two 1-D sub-models using limited-time *** suggested methodology works for both 2-D and 1-D ***,the suggested methodology gives the stability of the reduced model as well as a priori error-bound expressions for the 2-D and 1-D *** results and comparisons between existing and suggested methodologies are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested methodology.

Colorectal surgeon consensus with diverticulitis clinical practice guidelines

AIM To determine the application of clinical practice guidelines for the current management of diverticulitis and colorectal surgeon specialist consensus in Australia and New *** A survey was distributed to 205 colorectal surgeons in Australia and New Zealand, using 22 hypothetical clinical *** The response rate was 102(50%). For 19 guidelinebased scenarios, only 11(58%) reached consensus(defined as > 70% majority opinion) and agreed with guidelines; while 3(16%) reached consensus and did not agree with guidelines. The remaining 5(26%) scenarios showed community equipoise(defined as less than/equal to 70% majority opinion). These included diagnostic imaging where CT scan was contraindicated, management options in the failureof conservative therapy for complicated diverticulitis, surgical management of hinchey grade 3, proximal extent of resection in sigmoid diverticulitis and use of oral mechanical bowel preparation and antibiotics for an elective colectomy. The consensus areas not agreeing with guidelines were management of simple diverticulitis, management following the failure of conservative therapy in uncomplicated diverticulitis and follow-up after an episode of complicated diverticulitis. Fifty-percent of rural/regional based surgeons would perform an urgent sigmoid colectomy in failed conservative therapy of diverticulitis compared to only 8% of surgeons city-based(Fisher's exact test P = 0.016). In right-sided complicated diverticulitis, a greater number of those in practice for more than ten years would perform an ileocecal resection and ileocolic anastomosis(79% vs 41%, P hile there are areas of consensus in diverticulitis management, there are areas of community equipoise for future research, potentially in the form of RCTs.
