Cross-Project Software Defect Prediction Based on SMOTE and Deep Canonical Correlation Analysis

Cross-Project Defect Prediction(CPDP)is a method that utilizes historical data from other source projects to train predictive models for defect prediction in the target project.However,existing CPDP methods only consider linear correlations between features(indicators)of the source and target projects.These models are not capable of evaluating non-linear correlations between features when they exist,for example,when there are differences in data distributions between the source and target projects.As a result,the performance of such CPDP models is compromised.In this paper,this paper proposes a novel CPDP method based on Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE)and Deep Canonical Correlation Analysis(DCCA),referred to as S-DCCA.Canonical Correlation Analysis(CCA)is employed to address the issue of non-linear correlations between features of the source and target projects.S-DCCA extends CCA by incorporating the MlpNet model for feature extraction from the dataset.The redundant features are then eliminated by maximizing the correlated feature subset using the CCA loss function.Finally,cross-project defect prediction is achieved through the application of the SMOTE data sampling technique.Area Under Curve(AUC)and F1 scores(F1)are used as evaluation metrics.This paper conducted experiments on 27 projects from four public datasets to validate the proposed method.The results demonstrate that,on average,our method outperforms all baseline approaches by at least 1.2%in AUC and 5.5%in F1 score.This indicates that the proposed method exhibits favorable performance characteristics.

DC Traction Power Supply System Based on Modular Multilevel Converter Suitable for Energy Feeding and De-icing

A novel DC traction power supply system suitable for energy feeding and de-icing is proposed in this paper for an urban rail transit catenary on the basis of the full bridge submodule (FBSM) modular multilevel converter (MMC). The FBSM-MMC is a novel type of voltage source converter (VSC) and can directly control the output DC voltage and conduct bipolar currents, thus flexibly controlling the power flow of the urban rail transit catenary. The proposed topology can overcome the inherent disadvantages of the output voltage drop in the diode rectifier units, increase the power supply distance and reduce the number of traction substations. The flexible DC technology can coordinate multiple FBSM-MMCs in a wide area and jointly complete the bidirectional control of catenary power flow during the operation of the electric locomotive, so as to realize the local consumption and optimal utilization of the recovered braking energy of the train. In addition, the FBSM-MMCs can also adjust the output current when the locomotive is out of service to prevent the catenary from icing in winter. The working modes of the proposed topology are illustrated in detail and the control strategy is specially designed for normal locomotive operations and catenary de-icing. Simulation cases conducted by PSCAD/EMTDC validate the proposed topology and its control strategy.

Role of microbiota-gut-brain axis in neurodegenerative diseases and the potential of microbiome-targeted d ietary strategies: A review of current evidence and future perspective

Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs)， mainly including Alzheimer’s disease， Parkinson’s disease， and Multiple sclerosis， represent a major public health challenge with the steady increase of aging population worldwide. Emerging evidence has revealed the key role of the microbiota-gut-brain axis in the pathogenesis of NDs. Diet is one of the most important environmental factors shaping the structure and function of gut microbiota. Manipulating the gut microbiota through specific diet patterns may represent a promising approach for NDs prevention. In this review， we highlight gut microbiota variations in NDs， outline several crucial signaling pathways of the gut-brain communication， and discuss the interplay of nutrients-microbes and biological effect of diet-derived microbial metabolites on neural physiology. In particular， we summarized the current knowledge about the application of dietary patterns in NDs to prevent disease progression via the modulation of the gut microbiota. Our study provides novel insights on the diet-microbiota-gut-brain axis in neurodegenerative disorders and highlights the potential of developing microbiome-targeted personalized dietary intervention for NDs management.

Aqueous zinc-ion capacitors(ziCs)are considered as potential candidates for next generation electro-chemical energy storage devices due to their high safety and low cost.However,the existing aqueous ZiCs usually have the problems of zinc dendrite growth and unsatisfactory performance at low temper-ature.Herein,an erythritol(Eryt)additive with inhibition of zinc dendrites and anti-freezing capability was introduced into the ZnSO_(4) electrolyte.The experimental characterization and theoretical calculation confirm that the Eryt adsorbed on the surface of zinc anodes regulates the deposition orientation of Zn^(2+)and inhibits the formation of dendrites.It also reconstructs the solvation structure in the electrolyte to reduce water activity,enabling the electrolyte to have a lower freezing point for operation at low tem-perature.With the assistance of Eryt,the ZnZn symmetric cell exhibits a long cycle life of 2000 h,while the ZIC assembled with activated carbon(AC)cathode and zinc anode(ZnllAC)maintains a capacity retention of 98.2%after 30,000 cycles at a current density of 10 A g^(-1)(even after 10,000 cycles at-20°C,the capacity retention rate reached 94.8%.).This work provides a highly scalable,low-cost and effective strategy for the protection of the anodes of low-temperature aqueous ZiCs.

Power-efficient programmable integrated multiport photonic interferometer in CMOS-compatible silicon nitride

Silicon nitride(SiNx)is an appealing waveguide material choice for large-scale,high-performance photonic integrated circuits(PICs)due to its low optical loss.However,SiNx PICs require high electric power to realize optical reconfiguration via the weak thermo-optic effect,which limits their scalability in terms of device density and chip power dissipation.We report a 6-mode programmable interferometer PIC operating at the wavelength of 1550 nm on a CMOS-compatible low-temperature inductance coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition(ICP-CVD)silicon nitride platform.By employing suspended thermo-optic phase shifters,the PIC achieves 2×improvement in compactness and 10×enhancement in power efficiency compared to conventional devices.Reconfigurable 6-dimensional linear transformations are demonstrated including cyclic transformations and arbitrary unitary matrices.This work demonstrates the feasibility of fabricating power-efficient large-scale reconfigurable PICs on the low-temperature ICP-CVD silicon nitride platform.

Arsenic trioxide elicits prophylactic and therapeutic immune responses against solid tumors by inducing necroptosis and ferroptosis

Boosting tumor immunosurveillance with vaccines has been proven to be a feasible and cost-effective strategy to fight cancer. Although major breakthroughs have been achieved in preventative tumor vaccines targeting oncogenic viruses, limited advances have been made in curative vaccines for virus-irrelevant malignancies. Accumulating evidence suggests that preconditioning tumor cells with certain cytotoxic drugs can generate whole-cell tumor vaccines with strong prophylactic activities. However, the immunogenicity of these vaccines is not sufficient to restrain the outgrowth of existing tumors. In this study, we identified arsenic trioxide (ATO) as a wide-spectrum cytotoxic and highly immunogenic drug through multiparameter screening. ATO preconditioning could generate whole-cell tumor vaccines with potent antineoplastic effects in both prophylactic and therapeutic settings. The tumor-preventive or tumor-suppressive benefits of these vaccines relied on CD8^(+) T cells and type I and II interferon signaling and could be linked to the release of immunostimulatory danger molecules. Unexpectedly, following ATO-induced oxidative stress, multiple cell death pathways were activated, including autophagy, apoptosis, necroptosis, and ferroptosis. CRISPR‒Cas9-mediated knockout of cell death executors revealed that the absence of Rip3, Mlkl, or Acsl4 largely abolished the efficacy of ATO-based prophylactic and therapeutic cancer vaccines. This therapeutic failure could be rescued by coadministration of danger molecule analogs. In addition, PD-1 blockade synergistically improved the therapeutic efficacy of ATO-based cancer vaccines by augmenting local IFN-γ production.

Temporal sequence Object-based CNN(TS-OCNN) for crop classification from fine resolution remote sensing image time-series

Accurate crop distribution mapping is required for crop yield prediction and field management. Due to rapid progress in remote sensing technology, fine spatial resolution(FSR) remotely sensed imagery now offers great opportunities for mapping crop types in great detail. However, within-class variance can hamper attempts to discriminate crop classes at fine resolutions. Multi-temporal FSR remotely sensed imagery provides a means of increasing crop classification from FSR imagery, although current methods do not exploit the available information fully. In this research, a novel Temporal Sequence Object-based Convolutional Neural Network(TS-OCNN) was proposed to classify agricultural crop type from FSR image time-series. An object-based CNN(OCNN) model was adopted in the TS-OCNN to classify images at the object level(i.e., segmented objects or crop parcels), thus, maintaining the precise boundary information of crop parcels. The combination of image time-series was first utilized as the input to the OCNN model to produce an ‘original’ or baseline classification. Then the single-date images were fed automatically into the deep learning model scene-by-scene in order of image acquisition date to increase successively the crop classification accuracy. By doing so, the joint information in the FSR multi-temporal observations and the unique individual information from the single-date images were exploited comprehensively for crop classification. The effectiveness of the proposed approach was investigated using multitemporal SAR and optical imagery, respectively, over two heterogeneous agricultural areas. The experimental results demonstrated that the newly proposed TS-OCNN approach consistently increased crop classification accuracy, and achieved the greatest accuracies(82.68% and 87.40%) in comparison with state-of-the-art benchmark methods, including the object-based CNN(OCNN)(81.63% and85.88%), object-based image analysis(OBIA)(78.21% and 84.83%), and standard pixel-wise CNN(79.18%and 82.90%). A New Method of Wind Turbine Bearing Fault Diagnosis Based on Multi-Masking Empirical Mode Decomposition and Fuzzy C-Means Clustering

Based on Multi-Masking Empirical Mode Decomposition (MMEMD) and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering, a new method of wind turbine bearing fault diagnosis FCM-MMEMD is proposed, which can determine the fault accurately and timely. First, FCM clustering is employed to classify the data into different clusters, which helps to estimate whether there is a fault and how many fault types there are. If fault signals exist, the fault vibration signals are then demodulated and decomposed into different frequency bands by MMEMD in order to be analyzed further. In order to overcome the mode mixing defect of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), a novel method called MMEMD is proposed. It is an improvement to masking empirical mode decomposition (MEMD). By adding multi-masking signals to the signals to be decomposed in different levels, it can restrain low-frequency components from mixing in highfrequency components effectively in the sifting process and then suppress the mode mixing. It has the advantages of easy implementation and strong ability of suppressing modal mixing. The fault type is determined by Hilbert envelope finally. The results of simulation signal decomposition showed the high performance of MMEMD. Experiments of bearing fault diagnosis in wind turbine bearing fault diagnosis proved the validity and high accuracy of the new method.
