Metamorphism and Microstructure of Seasonal Snow:Single Layer Tracking in Western Tianshan,China

【Title】【Author】Snowpack is a combination of several snow layers. Accordingly, snowpack natural metamorphism is composed of several stages. The aim of this study is to investigate the natural snow metamorphism at the snow layer unit. The field investigation was conducted at the Tianshan Station for Snow Cover and Avalanche Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences （43°16＇ N, 84°24＇ E, and 1,776 m a.s.l.）, during the winter of 2010-2011. A complete metamorphic procedure and the corresponding microstructure of a target snow layer were tracked. The results indicate that： the ideal and complete metamorphic process and the corresponding predominant snow grain shape have 5 stages： 1） unstable kinetic metamorphism near the surface; 2） unstable kinetic metamorphism under pressure; 3） stable kinetic metamorphism; 4） equilibrium metamorphism; 5） wet snow metamorphism. Snow grain size sharply decreased in the surface stage, and then changed to continuously increase. Rapid increase of grain size occurred in the stable kinetic metamorphism and wet snow metamorphism stage. The characteristic length was introduced to represent the real sizes of depth hoar crystals. The snow grain circularity ratio had a variation of “rapid increase – slow decrease – slow increase”, and the snow aggregations continuously increased with time. Snow density grew stepwise and remained steady from the stable kinetic to the equilibrium metamorphism stage. The differences in metamorphism extent and stages among snow layers, led to the characteristic layered structure of snowpack.

Spin-orbit torque （SOT）,as a promising writing method for magnetic random-access memory （MRAM）,has garnered widespread interest for over a decade [1].Heavy metals,such as β-W,have been broadly adopted as spin current sources,but suffer from phase change at a limited thickness,resulting in a dramatic reduction of the charge-tospin conversion efficiency θSH[2].The thickness limitation leads to stringent etching conditions and large distribution among devices,posing challenges for simultaneously satisfying SOT efficiency,etching-stop margins,and back-end-ofline （BEOL） compatibility.

Cohort study of patients with Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis in China:evaluation of risk models and new predictor of pulmonary consolidation on computed tomography

Stevens-Johnson syndrome(SJS)and toxic epidermal necrolysis(TEN)are rare but severe *** study aimed to validate the predictive ability of risk models in patients with SJS/TEN and propose possible refinement in *** in the Department of Dermatology of Huashan Hospital from January 2008 to January 2019 were *** showed that the severity-of-illness score for TEN(SCORTEN)had a good discrimination(area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),0.78),and it was superior to auxiliary score(AS)and ABCD-10,which indicates age,bicarbonate level,cancer,dialysis,and 10%involved body surface area(AUC,0.69 and 0.68,respectively).The calibration of SCORTEN(Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test,P=0.69)was also better than that of AS(P=0.25)and ABCD-10(P=0.55).SCORTEN and ABCD-10 were similar(Brier score(BS),0.04 and 0.04)in terms of accuracy of *** addition,the imaging appearance of pulmonary consolidation on computed tomography was associated with high *** models were formed using the variables and this imaging *** refined AS and ABCD-10 models were similar in discrimination compared with the original SCORTEN(0.74 vs.0.78,P=0.23;0.74 vs.0.78,P=0.30,respectively).Therefore,SCORTEN showed good discrimination performance,calibration,and accuracy,and refined AS or ABCD-10 model may be an option when SCORTEN variables are not available.

Effect of gamification applications on success of dentistry students

BACKGROUND Gamification,the use of game materials in education,has been used in several scientific fields,and studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in student *** To evaluate whether the success of 4th-and 5th-grade dentistry students increases when using the gamification applications Kahoot!and *** An experimental design was used to measure the effect of gamification applications on students who were taught using the traditional *** this purpose,Mentimeter and Kahoot!applications were used in this experimental *** groups of 4th-and 5th-grade students were formed:Mentimeter,Kahoot!,and control *** effect of gamification applications on achievement was evaluated by administering a post-test to these groups after the instructional ***-way analysis of variance and t-tests were used for statistical *** A total of 35.5%of the students were in the Mentimeter group,29.8%in the Kahoot!group,and 34.6%in the control *** the total number of students,54.8%were female and 45.2%were male,while 52.2%were 5th-grade students and 47.8%were 4th-grade *** overall grade point average was found to be 66.65(range,24-100).There was a statistically significant difference in average success scores between students of different groups(P=0.003luSION Gamification has a great potential in the education of dentomaxillofacial radiology *** outperformed both the Kahoot!and the traditional method in terms of average student success rates.

Effect of ammonia concentration of complexing agent on CdxZn1-xS buffer layer by chemical bath deposition and performance of ciGS cell

In this paper， CdxZn1-xS thin films were deposited on glass substrates by chemical bath deposition （CBD），and the effects of different concentrations of ammonia water on the morphology， structure and optical properties of the films were studied. CdxZn1-xS thin films have hexagonal crystal structure， the transmittance is above 75% in the visible range， and the optical band gap is between 2.6 eV and 2.9 eV. The influence of the experimental group of deposited thin films on the performance parameters of the ciGS battery was studied by simulation with SCAPS-1D software and the cell efficiency reached 22.42%. It is introduced that the buffer layer prepared in this experiment is feasible in ciGS solar cells.

Influence of band gap and different defects on the performance of Cu（In， Ga）Se2 solar cells

The SCAPS-1D simulator， a one-dimensional solar cell capacitance simulator is utilized for simulating ciGS solar cells. It has been observed that the performance of solar cells can be enhanced by uniformly adjusting the band gap value of the ciGS absorption layer. Upon doing so， the solar cell's conversion efficiency reaches 22.13% when the band gap of the ciGS absorption layer is 1.3eV. Subsequently， the influence of defect type and density on photoelectric properties is analyzed by using the improved absorption band gap. The findings indicate that to heighten the photovoltaic efficiency， it is imperative to minimize the defect concentration in the absorption layer， as high-density defects significantly impact the efficiency， and can even render the conversion efficiency to zero. This study underscores the pivotal influence of band gap adjustments and defect charge types on the photoelectric properties of thin film solar cells.

The triaxially superdeformed states in 162lu are investigated using the three-dimensional total routhian surface calculation, and the deformation parameters and the likely configuration are given. The shell and pairing correction energies are considered respectively, and the formation mechanism of triaxial superdeformation is investigated.
