Compared to reforming reactions using hydrocarbons,ethanol steam reforming(ESR)is a sustainable alternative for hydrogen(H_(2))production since ethanol can be produced sustainably using biomass.This work explores the catalyst design strategies for preparing the Ni supported on ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts to promote ESR.Specifically,two-dimensional ZSM-5 nanosheet and conventional ZSM-5 crystal were used as the catalyst carriers and two synthesis strategies,i.e.,in situ encapsulation and wet impregnation method,were employed to prepare the catalysts.Based on the comparative characterization of the catalysts and comparative catalytic assessments,it was found that the combination of the in situ encapsulation synthesis and the ZSM-5 nanosheet carrier was the effective strategy to develop catalysts for promoting H_(2) production via ESR due to the improved mass transfer(through the 2-D structure of ZSM-5 nanosheet)and formation of confined small Ni nanoparticles(resulted via the in situ encapsulation synthesis).In addition,the resulting ZSM-5 nanosheet supported Ni catalyst also showed high Ni dispersion and high accessibility to Ni sites by the reactants,being able to improve the activity and stability of catalysts and suppress metal sintering and coking during ESR at high reaction temperatures.Thus,the Ni supported on ZSM-5 nanosheet catalyst prepared by encapsulation showed the stable performance with~88% ethanol conversion and~65% H_(2) yield achieved during a 48-h longevity test at 550-C.

The dissolved oxygen content in water is an important indicator for assessing the quality of the water environment,and maintaining a certain amount of dissolved oxygen is essential for the healthy development of the ecological environment.When a water body is anoxic,the activity of anaerobic microorganisms increases and organic matter is decomposed to produce a large number of blackening and odorizing substances,resulting in black and odorous water bodies,which is a very common and typical phenomenon in China.Presently,there is still a relatively universal occurrence of illicitly connected stormwater and sewage pipes in the urban drainage pipe network in China,which makes oxygen-consuming substances be directly discharged into rivers through stormwater pipes and consume the dissolved oxygen in the water bodies,resulting in an oxygen deficiency of the water.This induces seasonal or year-round black and stink phenomena in urban rivers.Hence,identifying high oxygen-consuming substances,which lays the foundation for the subsequent removal of oxygen-consuming substances,is essential.Through a series of comparisons of water quality indicators and analysis of organic characteristics,it was found that the oxygen consumption capacity of domestic sewage was higher than that of industrial wastewater in the selected area of this study,and the oxygen-consuming substances of domestic sewage were small molecular amino acids.By comparing 20 conventional free amino acids,it was found that seven of them consumed oxygen easily,and compared with chemical oxygen consumption,biological oxygen consumption was in a leading position.

Due to factors such as motion blur,video out-of-focus,and occlusion,multi-frame human pose estimation is a challenging task.Exploiting temporal consistency between consecutive frames is an efficient approach for addressing this issue.Currently,most methods explore temporal consistency through refinements of the final heatmaps.The heatmaps contain the semantics information of key points,and can improve the detection quality to a certain extent.However,they are generated by features,and feature-level refinements are rarely considered.In this paper,we propose a human pose estimation framework with refinements at the feature and semantics levels.We align auxiliary features with the features of the current frame to reduce the loss caused by different feature distributions.An attention mechanism is then used to fuse auxiliary features with current features.In terms of semantics,we use the difference information between adjacent heatmaps as auxiliary features to refine the current heatmaps.The method is validated on the large-scale benchmark datasets PoseTrack2017 and PoseTrack2018,and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)materials with both high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)and fast reverse intersystem crossing(RISC)are strongly desired to realize efficient and stable organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs).Control of excited-state dynamics via molecular design plays a central role in optimizing the PLQY and RISC rate of TADF materials but remains challenging.Here,3 TADF emitters possessing similar molecular structures,similar high PLQYs(89.5%to 96.3%),and approximate energy levels of the lowest excited singlet states(S_(1)),but significantly different spin-flipping RISC rates(0.03×10^(6) s^(−1) vs.2.26×10^(6) s^(−1))and exciton lifetime(297.1 to 332.8μs vs.6.0μs)were systematically synthesized to deeply investigate the feasibility of spin-flip between charge-transfer excited states(^(3)CT–^(1)CT)transition.

Single-cell joint analysis of methylome and transcriptome reveals how the methylation regulates the transcriptional activity.However,traditional bench-top protocols for single-cell DNA methylation and RNA transcription co-detection are laborintensive,cost-ineffective and contaminant-prone.Herein,we establish the DMF-sc MT-seq,a highly-efficient and cost-effective method to simultaneously analyze single-cell DNA methylation and transcriptional activity based on digital microfluidics.DMFsc MT-seq automates the workflow of single-cell isolation,cellular hypotonic lysis,nucleic acid separation and methylome/transcriptome library construction in a contactless and addressable way.The system ensures high accuracy(R>0.85),high gene detection ability(14,697 genes per cell at 4 million sequencing depth),and high CpG coverage(677,198 CpG sites per cell at 1million sequencing depth).By using DMF-sc MT-seq,the relationship of DNA methylation and RNA transcription under different genomic contexts is resolved.We further apply DMF-sc MT-seq to study the dynamics of transcription regulation with methylation-inhibiting anti-tumor Decitabine,and identify the methylated promoter/gene body driven genes in response to Decitabine treatment.DMF-sc MT-seq facilitates the construction of the correlation of DNA methylation and transcriptional activity at the single-cell level in a flexible,sensitive and accurate way,which is anticipated to be a powerful tool in studying single-cell biological systems.

Mitochondrial toxicity induced by therapeutic drugs is a major contributor for cardiotoxicity,posing a serious threat to pharmaceutical industries and patients’lives.However,mitochondrial toxicity testing is not incorporated into routine cardiac safety screening procedures.To accurately model native human cardiomyocytes,we comprehensively evaluated mitochondrial responses of adult human primary cardiomyocytes(h PCMs)to a nucleoside analog,remdesivir(RDV).Comparison of their response to human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes revealed that the latter utilized a mitophagy-based mitochondrial recovery response that was absent in h PCMs.Accordingly,action potential duration was elongated in h PCMs,reflecting clinical incidences of RDV-induced QT prolongation.In a screen for mitochondrial protectants,we identified mitochondrial ROS as a primary mediator of RDV-induced cardiotoxicity.Our study demonstrates the utility of h PCMs in the detection of clinically relevant cardiac toxicities,and offers a framework for h PCM-based high-throughput screening of cardioprotective agents.

Background:Endoscopic resection bleeding(ERB)classification was proposed by the authors’team to evaluate the severity of intraoperative bleeding(IB)during endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).This study aimed to evaluate the application of ERB classification and to analyze the risk factors of major IB(MIB)and postoperative bleeding(PB)associated with ESD for gastric neoplastic lesions.Methods:We retrospectively enrolled a total of 1334 patients who underwent ESD between November 2006 and September 2019 at The First Medical Center of Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Hospital.All patients were divided into the non-MIB group(including ERB-0,ERB-controlled 1[ERB-c1],and ERB-c2)and the MIB group(including ERB-c3 and ERB-uncontrolled[ERB-unc])according to the ERB classification.Risk factors of major MIB and risk factors of PB were analyzed using a logistic regression model.Results:Among the 1334 patients,773(57.95%)had ERB-0,477(35.76%)had ERB-c1,77(5.77%)had ERB-c2,7(0.52%)had ERB-c3,and no patients had ERB-unc.The rate of PB in patients with IB classifications of ERB-0,ERB-c1,ERB-c2,and ERB-c3 were 2.20%(17/773),3.35%(16/477),9.09%(7/77),and 2/7,respectively.In multivariate analysis,proximal location(odds ratio[OR]:1.488;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.045-3.645;P=0.047)was the only significant risk factor of MIB.Chronic kidney disease(CKD)(OR:7.844;95%CI:1.637-37.583;P=0.010)and MIB(ERB-c3)(OR:13.932;95%CI:2.585-74.794;P=0.002)were independent risk factors of PB.Conclusions:Proximal location of lesions was a significant risk factor of MIB.Additionally,CKD and MIB(ERB-c3)were independent risk factors of PB.More attention should be paid to these high-risk patients for MIB and PB.

In this paper,we are concerned with a three-dimensional non-isothermal model for the compressible nematic liquid crystal flows in a periodic domain.Under some smallness and structural assumptions imposed on the time-periodic force,we establish the existence of the time-periodic solutions to the system by using a regularized approximation scheme and the topological degree theory.We also prove a uniqueness result via energy estimates.

In this paper,we first prove the existence and uniqueness theorem of the solution of nonlinear variable-order fractional stochastic differential equations(VFSDEs).We futher constructe the Euler-Maruyama method to solve the equations and prove the convergence in mean and the strong convergence of the method.In particular,when the fractional order is no longer varying,the conclusions obtained are consistent with the relevant conclusions in the existing literature.Finally,the numerical experiments at the end of the article verify the correctness of the theoretical results obtained.
