AIM:To evaluate the relationship among Helicobacter pylori(***) infection,CagA status,and dietary factors with RUNX3 promoter ***:Gastric cancer tissue samples were collected from 184 South Korean *** patients were interviewed following a semi-quantitative food frequency *** average frequencies of intake and portion sizes of 89 common food items were documented,and total intakes of calories,nutrients,vitamins,and minerals were calculated for each *** was extracted from gastric cancer tissue samples,and amplification of the HSP60 gene was performed to detect *** *** polymerase chain reaction(PCR) was used to detect the presence of the CagA ***3 gene expression was measured by reverse transcription-PCR,and RUNX3 methylation status was evaluated by methylation-specific *** odds ratios(ORs) and 95%CI associated with RUNX3 promoter hypermethylation status were estimated for each of the food groups,lifestyle factors,and the interaction between dietary and lifestyle factors with CagA status of *** ***:Overall,164 patients(89.1%) were positive for *** DNA,with the CagA gene detected in 59(36%) of these ***-positive *** all,106(57.6%) patients with gastric cancer demonstrated CpG island hypermethylation at the RUNX3 ***3 expression was undetectable in 52(43.7%) of the 119 gastric cancer tissues sampled.A high consumption of eggs may increase the risk of RUNX3 methylation in gastric cancer patients,having a mean OR of 2.15(range,1.14-4.08).A significantly increased OR of 4.28(range,1.19-15.49) was observed with a high consumption of nuts in patients with CagA-positive *** *** intakes of carbohydrate,vitamin B1,and vitamin E may decrease the risk of RUNX3 methylation in gastric cancer tissue,particularly in CagA-or ***-negative infection,with OR of 0.41(0.19-0.90),0.42(0.20-0.89),and 0.29(0.13-0.62),respectively.A high consumpt

AIM： To identify the clinical features and outcomes of infrequently reported leptomeningeal carcinomatosis （LMC） of gastric ***： We analyzed 54 cases of cytologically confirmed gastric LMC at four institutions from 1994 to ***： The male-to-female ratio was 32：22, and the patients ranged in age from 28 to 78 years （median,48.5 years）. The majority of patients had advanced disease at initial diagnosis of gastric cancer. The clini-cal or pathologic tumor, node and metastasis stage ofthe primary gastric cancer wasin 38 patients （70%）.The median interval from diagnosis of the primarymalignancy to the diagnosis of LMC was 6.3 mo, rang-ing between 0 and 73.1 mo. Of the initial endoscopic f indings for the 45 available patients, 23 （51%） of the patients were Bormann typeand 15 （33%） patientswere Bormann type. Pathologically, 94% of cases proved to be poorly differentiated adenocarcinomas. Signet ring cell component was also observed in 40% of patients. Headache （85%） and nausea/vomiting （58%） were the most common presenting symptoms of LMC. A gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging was conducted in 51 patients. Leptomeningeal enhancement was noted in 45 cases （82%）. Intrathecal （IT） chemotherapy was administered to 36 patients-primarily methotrexate alone （61%）, but also in combi-nation with hydrocortisone/± Ara-C （39%）. The median number of IT treatments was 7 （range, 1-18）. Concomitant radiotherapy was administered to 18 patients, and concomitant chemotherapy to seven patients. Sev-enteen patients （46%） achieved cytological negative conversion. Median overall survival duration from the diagnosis of LMC was 6.7 wk （95% CI： 4.3-9.1 wk）. In the univariate analysis of survival duration, hemoglobin, IT chemotherapy, and cytological negative conversion showed superior survival duration （P = 0.038, P = 0.010, and P = 0.002, respectively）. Formation of Stable Lamellar Gel Structure Containing Pseudoceramide and Its Evaluation of Barrier Recovery Function

We formulated new skin care cosmetics with lamella structure in which high amount of pseudo-ceramides were incorporated. Consistency of this lamellar gel creams were checked for 1 month on various temperatures and for 1 year on RT. Generally, multi-lamellar emulsion shows typical Maltese cross on polarized microscope, but Maltese cross was not found in case of these creams; Multi-lamellar structure of the creams could be identifed by small-angle X-ray scattering （SAXS）. To evaluate skin barrier recovery function, we applied one of this creams and a vehicle cream to forearm skin which is tape-stripped to remove barrier layer to see if they infuence mass of molecules related to barrier function. 96 h after application, we found that this lamellar gel cream promoted synthesis of ceramides, amino acids and NMFs, thereby enhanced barrier recovery function.

＜正＞To perform the simulations of netivork intrusions which give the information on the consequences of the network being affected, the network modeling for an actual network architecture and the property of its sub systems should be reflected to the simulation framework. In this paper, we propose and implement an Intrusion Detection System （IDS） based on SSFNet simulation framework. IDS is one of core elements in the cyber intrusions. Proposed IDS system has a rule-based type with misuse detect. Performing various types of simulations for network intrusions, the implemented IDS on the simulation shows that it plays the same property as that of actual networks.

Efficacy of moxifloxacin-based sequential and hybrid therapy for first-line Helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of moxifloxacin-based sequential therapy(MBST) versus hybrid therapy as a first-line treatment for Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) ***: From August 2014 to January 2015, 284 patients with confirmed H. pylori infection were randomized to receive a 14-d course of MBST(MBST group, n = 140) or hybrid(Hybrid group, n = 144) therapy. The MBST group received 20 mg rabeprazole and 1 g amoxicillin twice daily for 7 d, followed by 20 mg rabeprazole and 500 mg metronidazole twice daily, and 400 mg moxifloxacin once daily for 7 d. The Hybrid group received 20 mg rabeprazole and 1 g amoxicillin twice daily for 14 d. In addition, the Hybrid group received 500 mg metronidazole and 500 mg clarithromycin twice daily for the final 7 d. Successful eradication of H. pylori infection was defined as a negative 13C-urea breath test 4 wk after the end of treatment. Patient compliance was defined as "good" if drug intake was at least 85%. H. pylori eradication rates, patient compliance with treatment, and adverse event rates were ***: The eradication rates in the intention-totreat(ITT) analysis were 91.4%(128/140; 95%CI: 90.2%-92.9%) in the MBST group and 79.2%(114/144; 95%CI: 77.3%-80.7%) in the Hybrid group(P = 0.013). The eradication rates in the perprotocol(PP) analysis were 94.1%(128/136; 95%CI: 92.9%-95.6%) in the MBST group and 82.6%(114/138; 95%CI: 80.6%-84.1%) in the Hybrid group(P = 0.003). The H. pylori eradication rate in the MBST group was significantly higher than that of the Hybrid group for both the ITT(P = 0.013) and the PP analyses(P = 0.003). Both groups exhibited full compliance with treatment(MBST/Hybrid group: 100%/100%). The rate of adverse events was 11.8%(16/136) and 19.6%(27/138) in the MBST and Hybrid group, respectively(P = 0.019).
