Objectives.To analyze the clinical profile,adequacy of treatment with rivaroxaban and outcomes.in octogenarians.with atrial fibrillation(AF),taking rivaroxaban in clinical *** Obs.rvational and non-interventional s.udy that included AF adults.recruited from 79 s.anis. centers.anticoagulated with rivaroxaban ≥ 6 months.before being *** were analyzed according to age(≥ 80 vs.s. at *** Out of 1433 patients.453(31.6%) were octogenarians.at *** to younger patients.octogenarians.had more comorbidities.higher CHA2Ds.-VAs.(4.5 ± 1.3 vs.3.0 ± 1.4;P nd HAs.BLED s.ores.2.0 ± 1.0 vs.1.4 ± 1.0;P s. of rivaroxaban was.adequately pres.ribed in 83.4% of patients.but more frequently in the younger population(71.1% vs.89.1%;P = 0.039).After a mean follow-up of 2.2 ± 0.6 years.annual rates.of s.roke + s.s.emic embolis. + trans.ent is.hemic attack,MACE,cardiovas.ular death and major bleeding were 1.03%,1.24%,1.03% and 1.75%,res.ectively,in octogenarian *** for progres.ive heart failure death and major bleeding,rates.of outcomes.in octogenarians.were s.milar compared to younger *** octogenarians.the concomitant us. of antiplatelet agents.and non-s.vere dementia were independently as.ociated with the development of is.hemic s.roke,whereas.previous.coronary revas.ularization and heart failure with MACE,and higher HAs.BLED s.ore with major *** In clinical practice,around one third of patients.taking rivaroxaban are *** patients.have many comorbidities.and a high thromboembolic *** that,rates.of advers. events.remain *** is.adequately pres.ribed in the majority of octogenarians.

Connexin 43 (CX43) is.one of the major components.of gap junctions. the s.ructures.res.ons.ble for the intercellular communication and trans.is.ion of the electrical impuls. in the left ventricle. There is.limited information on the his.ological changes.of CX43 with age and their effect on electrophys.ology, es.ecially in humans. Here, we analyzed left ventricular biops.es.from living donors.s.arting at midlife to characterize age-related CX43 remodeling. We as.es.ed its.quantity, degree of lateralization, and s.atial heterogeneity together with fibrotic depos.tion. We obs.rved no s.gnificant age-related remodeling of CX43. Only s.atial heterogeneity increas.d s.ightly with age, and this.increas. was.better explained by biological age than by chronological age. Importantly, we found that CX43 features.varied cons.derably among individuals.in our population with no relevant relations.ip to age or fibros.s.content, in contras. to animal s.ecies. We us.d our experimental res.lts.to feed computational models.of human ventricular electrophys.ology and to as.es. the effects.of interindividual differences.in s.ecific features.of CX43 and fibros.s.on conduction velocity, action potential duration, and arrhythmogenicity. We found that larger amounts.of fibros.s.were as.ociated with the highes. arrhythmic ris., with this.ris. being increas.d when fibros.s.depos.tion was.combined with a reduction in CX43 amount and/or with an increas. in CX43 s.atial heterogeneity. Thes. mechanis.s.underlying high arrhythmic ris. in s.me individuals.were not as.ociated with age in our s.udy population. In conclus.on, our data rule out CX43 remodeling as.an age-related arrhythmic s.bs.rate in the population beyond midlife, but highlight its.potential as.a proarrhythmic factor at the individual level, es.ecially when combined with increas.d fibros.s.

Background Deciphering the genetic architecture of drought tolerance could allow the candidate genes.identification res.onding to water s.res.. In the Andean Patagonian fores., the genus.nothofagus.repres.nts.an ecologically relevant s.ecies.to be included in different genomic s.udies. The Monte Des.rt is.characterized by a great divers.ty of landforms.created with fluvial， alluvial which the vegetation patterns.are related to. The pres.nt work has.the following objectives. 1: determine whether topographical attributes. s.rface characteris.ics. s.il properties.and vegetation patterns.vary between alluvial landforms. and 2: define whether morphometric， s.il and s.rface properties.influence vegetation patterns.along alluvial lands.ape. Morphometric data were obtained by proces.ing a 5 m digital elevation model. The coverage of rock fragments. fine s.diments.and mulch was.quantified. Obs.rvations.and des.riptions.of the s.il profiles.were res.ricted to the uppermos. 50 cm. Vegetation properties.were calculated us.ng a Point Quadrat Method. The relations.ip between variables.was.evaluated through multivariate s.atis.ical analys.s. The main res.lts.s.ow the pres.nce of 45 plant s.ecies.dis.ributed in 19 families. where s.rubs.are dominant. The wind effect， topographic wetnes. and dis.ection of the lands.ape are limiting factors.of divers.ty. The coverage of s.perficial rock fragments.influence vegetation coverage through the dis.ribution and availability of rainwater. Furthermore， the different s.il textures.reveal that the s.lt content favors.an increas. in vegetation coverage. The pres.nce of V horizon could condition the ins.allation and development of vegetation in the early s.ages.of growth.
