Analysis of the Adsorption of Toxic Chromium (VI) by Untreated and Chitosan Treated Banana and Areca Fiber

This paper work involves bunch experiments to investigate the effect of contact time, pH, and adsorbent dose on the extent of adsorption by bio-composites. Adsorption capacity of Chromium (VI) onto chitosan coated with banana and areca fiber was investigated in a batch system by considering the effects of various parameters like contact time, initial concentration, pH and adsorbent dose. The chitosan and fibers (banana and areca) were then cross-linked with glutaraldehyde to remove chromium [Cr (VI)] from water via static adsorption. It was found that optimum chromium absorption capacity of chitosan was assessed at pH of 2.5 to 4.5 and contact time of 30 to 180 minutes for raw banana and areca fiber and for chitosan treated banana & areca fiber. Though optimum adsorption of chromium of chitosan was measured 34.17 ppm (85.42%) from a 100 ml solution containing 40 parts per million (ppm) of Cr (VI) at 120 minutes, pH of 3.0 and 120 milligram (mg) adsorbent dose size, use of composite will be more favorable in the point of environmental concern as well as low cost because chitosan preparation is comparatively costly then banana and areca fiber. On the other hand, untreated banana and areca fiber optimum adsorption of chromium measured 3.65 ppm (9.1%) at 180 min and, pH of 4.5 and 140 mg adsorbent dose size and 3.76 ppm (9.4%) at 180 min, pH of 4.5 and 160 mg adsorbent dose size respectively. In case of chitosan treated banana fiber, it was observed that adsorption was increased from 17.664 to 30.057 (75.14%). On the other hand, for areca fiber with chitosan, it was observed that adsorption was increased from 21.664 to 30.156 (75.39%) ppm. The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption models were used for the mathematical description of the adsorption of chromium ion onto composites and it was found that the Langmuir adsorption isotherm was more fitted models which mean that a monolayer adsorption surface was created. In recent decades,intelligent transportation systems(ITS)have improved drivers’safety and have shared information(such as traffic congestion and accidents)in a very efficient ***,the privacy of vehicles and the security of event information is a major *** problem of secure sharing of event information without compromising the trusted third party(TTP)and data storage is the main issue in *** technologies can resolve this problem.A work has been published on blockchain-based protocol for secure sharing of events and authentication of *** protocol addresses the issue of the safe storing of event ***,authentication of vehicles solely depends on the cloud *** a result,their scheme utilizes the notion of partially decentralized *** paper proposes a novel decentralized architecture for the vehicular ad-hoc network(VANET)without the cloud *** work also presents a protocol for securing event information and vehicle authentication using the blockchain *** this protocol,the registered user accesses the event information securely from the interplanetary file system(IPFS).We incorporate the IPFS,along with blockchain,to store the information in a fully distributed *** proposed protocol is compared with the *** comparison provides desirable security at a reasonable *** evaluation of the proposed smart contract in terms of cost(GAS)is also discussed.

A Comparative Study of Dispersion Characteristics Determination of a Trapezoidally Corrugated Slow Wave Structure Using Different Techniques

The linear dispersion relation of a trapezoidally corrugated slow wave structure （TCSWS） is analyzed and presented. The size parameters of the TCSWS are chosen in such a way that they operate in the x-band frequency range. The dispersion relation is solved by utilizing the Rayleigh-Fourier method by expressing the radial function in terms of the Fourier series. A highly accurate synthetic technique is also applied to determine the complete dispersion characteristics from experimentally measured resonances （cold test）. Periodic structures resonate at specific frequencies when the terminals are shorted numerical calculation, synthetic technique and cold appropriately. The dispersion characteristics obtained from test are compared, and an excellent agreement is achieved.

Localization of sensor nodes in the internet of underwater things(IoUT)is of considerable significance due to its various applications,such as navigation,data tagging,and detection of underwater ***,in this paper,we propose a hybrid Bayesian multidimensional scaling(BMDS)based localization technique that can work on a fully hybrid IoUT network where the nodes can communicate using either optical,magnetic induction,and acoustic *** communication technologies are already used for communication in the underwater environment;however,lacking localization *** and magnetic induction communication achieves higher data rates for short *** the contrary,acoustic waves provide a low data rate for long-range underwater *** proposed method collectively uses optical,magnetic induction,and acoustic communication-based ranging to estimate the underwater sensor nodes’final ***,we also analyze the proposed scheme by deriving the hybrid Cramer-Rao lower bound(H-CRLB).Simulation results provide a complete comparative analysis of the proposed method with the literature.

Design of a Simple Integrated Coupler for SPP Excitation in a Dielectric Coated Ag Thin Film

A simple integrated coupler is proposed for the efficient excitation of surface plasmon polariton （SPP） mode in a thin metal film. The SPP mode is generated in a single Ag-dielectric interface by the incident field and coupled with an Ag thin film. The coupling efficiency at different wavelengths using two different dielectrics, gallium lanthanum sulfide （GLS） and aluminum gallium arsenide （AIGaAs） is calculated by analyzing the SPP propagation dynamics with the finite difference time domain method. A maximum coupling efficiency of 70~ is obtained at a wavelength of 46Ohm when GLS is used, whereas the corresponding value obtained for A1GaAs is 60~o at 56Onto. The proposed structure can be used to excite SPPs in a nano-thin film from an external bulky source and is easier to fabricate since a single interface metal-dielectric configuration is used to excite the metal-thin film.

One of the new impetuses for world tourism industry is Muslim tourism market. Like other tourists, Muslim tourists also need enjoyment, relax, holiday spending, and leisure activities. The increased growth of Muslim populations in the world and their wanderlusts for traveling has compelled the world tourism industry to think Muslim/Islamic tourism as a new phenomenon. This research study aims to discover the traveling needs and behavior of Muslim tourists by investigating the influence of Islamic teachings on Muslim traveling behavior and identifying alternatives choices of consuming Halal products and services. It also finds out the potentiality of this market, challenges of catering this market, and the ways to successfully cater this market segment by non-Muslim destination, *** study used partial mixed method(quantitative and qualitative) where 17 interviews' as well as 219 questionnaires' data were analyzed. The qualitative analysis was done manually following formal structure, while quantitative analysis was done by mean, factor analysis, ANOVA, and independent sample t-test in SPSS *** study identified six important Muslim traveling needs- Halal food & respectful behavior, Islamic hotel environment, Islamic morality, entertainment and worship, wash room facilities, and destination choice. Halal food and respectful behavior and wash room facilities are the most important needs to Muslim tourists while Islamic hotel environment, Islamic morality & entertainment, and worship are the second most important needs. Choosing destination is the least important factor for Muslim's *** study also identified two alternative choices of consuming Halal products and services- sea food and like sea food as well as undoubted alternative food, where undoubted alternative food(vegetables, fish, and fruits) is the most preferable alterative. Interactions of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CPFH)with sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)were investigated by conductivity measurement in H2O/electrolyte solutions(NaCl,Na2SO4&Na3PO4)over 298.15–318.15 K temperature range(with 5 K interval)considering the human body *** all cases,two critical micelle concentrations(c*)were observed which are increased in the presence of drug and decreased in the presence of salts enunciating the presence of interaction amongst the studied ***(CPFH+SDS)system in the presence of salt,the c*values at 303.15 K and I=0.50 mmol·kg^-1 followed the order:CNaCl>CNa2SO4>***ΔG1,m0 andΔG2,m0values are found to be negative for all systems that show that the micellization process is thermodynamically ***(CPFH+SDS)system in water,theΔHm0&ΔSm0 values reveal that the micellization processes is both entropy dominated in almost all *** the occurrence of electrolytes,ΔHm0 andΔSm0 values indicate that micellization processes are both entropy&enthalpy restricted at upper temperature but it becomes totally entropy dependent at higher *** higher positiveΔSm0 values indicate the enhanced hydrophobic interaction in presence of *** enthalpy-entropy compensation was determined from the linear relationship betweenΔHm0 andΔSm0 values in every *** transfer energies as well as compensation temperature and intrinsic enthalpy were also evaluated and the behaviors were comparable to other biological system.

The propagation characteristics of the surface-plasmon-polariton （SPP） mode in the single interface of silver （Ag） and gallium lanthanum sulfide （GLS） have been studied both analytically and numerically. The obtained numerical results show an excellent agreement with the analytical ones. The locations of the spatial resonance point along the direction of propagation were determined for the dielectric and the metal.

Localisation of machines in harsh Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)environment is necessary for various ***,a novel localisation algorithm is proposed for noisy range measurements in IIoT *** position of an unknown machine device in the network is estimated using the relative distances between blind machines(BMs)and anchor machines(AMs).Moreover,a more practical and challenging scenario with the erroneous position of AM is considered,which brings additional uncertainty to the final position ***,the AMs selection algorithm for the localisation of BMs in the IIoT network is *** those AMs will participate in the localisation process,which increases the accuracy of the final location ***,the closed‐form expression of the proposed greedy successive anchorization process is derived,which prevents possible local convergence,reduces computation,and achieves Cramér‐Rao lower bound accuracy for white Gaussian measurement *** results are compared with the state‐of‐the‐art and verified through numerous simulations.

Fractional Processing Based Adaptive Beamforming Algorithm

Fractional order algorithms have shown promising results in various signal processing applications due to their ability to improve performance without significantly increasing *** goal of this work is to inves-tigate the use of fractional order algorithm in the field of adaptive beam-forming,with a focus on improving performance while keeping complexity *** effectiveness of the algorithm will be studied and evaluated in this *** this paper,a fractional order least mean square(FLMS)algorithm is proposed for adaptive beamforming in wireless applications for effective utilization of *** algorithm aims to improve upon existing beam-forming algorithms,which are inefficient in performance,by offering faster convergence,better accuracy,and comparable computational *** FLMS algorithm uses fractional order gradient in addition to the standard ordered gradient in weight *** derivation of the algorithm is provided and supported by mathematical convergence *** is evaluated through simulations using mean square error(MSE)minimization as a metric and compared with the standard LMS algorithm for various *** results,obtained through Matlab simulations,show that the FLMS algorithm outperforms the standard LMS in terms of convergence speed,beampattern accuracy and scatter *** outperforms LMS in terms of convergence speed by 34%.From this,it can be concluded that FLMS is a better candidate for adaptive beamforming and other signal processing applications.
