Comparison of white‑to‑white measurements using four devices and their determination of ICL sizing

Background:to compare the measurements obtained from the Orbscan II,IOLMaster 700,Pentacam AXL,and Castroviejo caliper and their effects on calculating the recommended implantable collamer lens(ICL)size and postoperative vault ***:this is a retrospective cross-sectional study of patients who underwent ICL surgery by a single surgeon from March 1,2018 to July 31,*** were reviewed for the anterior chamber depth(ACD)and white-to-white(WtW)measurements obtained from the Orbscan II,IOLMaster 700,Pentacam AXL,and Castroviejo caliper(WtW only).these were used to calculate the recommended ICL *** actual ICL size implanted,and vault measurements obtained one month postoperatively were also ***:One hundred seven eyes with a mean age of 27.9±7.7 years were included in the *** WtW measurements were significantly different between devices(Pth the IOLMaster 700 having the highest value(12.14±0.04 mm)and the caliper having the lowest value(11.45±0.04 mm).Mean ACD measurements were the lowest in Orbscan II(3.12±0.25 mm)and the highest in Pentacam AXL(3.16±0.24 mm).the Pentacam AXL produced an ICL size similar to the Orbscan in 69.2%of *** IOLMaster yielded an ICL measurement one size larger t.an.Orbscan-based calculations in 64.5%of *** the Orbscan WtW and ACD,the desired vault of 0.25 to 0.75 mm and 0.25 to 1.00 mm was achieved in 70%and 91%of eyes,*** caliper WtW to IOLMaster 700 or Pentacam AXL WtW increases the percentage of achieving the desired vault to 80%,similar to the ***:the Orbscan II,IOLMaster 700,and Pentacam AXL cannot be used interchangeably for calculating ICL *** the WtW from caliper measurement with the ACD of the IOLMaster 700 or Pentacam AXL could improve ICL sizing and achieve a higher percentage of eyes with the desired vault.

Reaction dynamics in gases at operating temperatures at the atomic level are the basis of heterogeneous gas-solid catalyst reactions and are crucial to the catalyst *** noble metal nanocatalysts such as platinum are of interest in fuel cells and as diesel oxidation catalysts for pollution control,and practical ruthenium nanocatalysts are explored for ammonia *** and graphitic carbons are of interest as supports for the *** considerable literature on the catalytic processes on graphite and graphitic supports,reaction dynamics of the nanocatalysts on the supports in different reactive gas environments and operating temperatures at the single atom level are not well *** we present real time in-situ observations and analyses of reaction dynamics of Pt in oxidation,and practical Ru nanocatalysts in ammonia synthesis,on graphite and related supports under controlled reaction environments using a novel in-situ environmental(scanning) t.an.mission electron microscope with single atom *** recording snapshots of the reaction dynamics,the behaviour of the catalysts is *** images reveal single metal atoms,clusters of a few atoms on the graphitic supports and the support *** all play key roles in the mobility,sintering and growth of the *** experimental findings provide new structural insights into atomic scale reaction dynamics,morphology and stability of the nanocatalysts.

Aims the objectives of this study were to(i)determine the importance of soil moisture and soil nitrogen availability as resource requirements for the establishment of Stipa pulchra,(ii)to examine how changes in slope within a local habitat can affect the accumulation of soil moisture and soil nitrogen and(iii)to measure the physiological re-sponses of *** among such slope *** the field experiment occurred in the San JoséHills of Southern California on the California State Polytechnic University,Pomona *** were established within three different slope loca-tions(shallow,moderate and steep)within four separate *** nitrogen treatments(ambient,addition and removal)were replicated within each slope location for all four canyons,and five *** plants were planted in each *** nitrogen accumula-tion and soil moisture,as well as other abiotic variables,were meas-ured across the varied slope locations and nitrogen *** measured the cover,stress,and reproduction of *** plants for 2 years and used a mesocosm experiment to determine how ***-chra responds to varying water and nitrogen *** Findings Stipa pulchra had a strong positive response to the wettest watering treatment.an. a weak response to nitrogen addition in the meso-cosm *** the field experiment,*** responded positively in moderate slope locations and did not respond to ni-trogen treatments,possibly due to *** patterns of soil moisture were driven by slope,soil compaction and solar *** nitrogen accumulation did not vary among slope *** restoration of ***,priority should be placed on managing soil moisture availability and determining suitable edaphic factors.

BACKGROUND Primary thumb carpometacarpal(CMC)osteoarthritis is one of the most common conditions encountered by hand *** the vast number of operations that have been proposed,none have demonstrated results significantly superior to trapeziectomy *** the purpose of our study was to determine why surgeons opt for their technique in treating CMC *** A cross-sectional survey of active members of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand was conducted to evaluate the reasons behind their preferred technique in the treatment of isolated thumb CMC *** were contacted by email once and provided with a link to a de-identified survey consisting of 5 treatment questions and 5 demographic *** Of 950 responses were received.40.5%of surgeons preferred trapeziectomy+ligament reconstruction tendon interposition(LRtI),followed by trapeziectomy+suspensionplasty(28.2%),suture button suspension(5.9%),trapeziectomy alone(4.6%),prosthetic arthroplasty(3.2%),arthrodesis(1.1%),and other(6.6%).Proponents of trapeziectomy+LRtI cited familiarity(73.2%),exposure during fellowship(48.8%)and less proximal migration(60%)to be the main reasons affecting their *** who preferred trapeziectomy+suspensionplasty most reported simplicity(74.9%),fewer complications(45.3%),less proximal migration(43.8%),and avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(42.7%).Advocates of suture button suspension cited avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(80.4%),shorter immobilization(76.8%),and quicker recovery(73.2%)with their *** of trapeziectomy alone cited simplicity(97.7%),fewer complications(86.4%),and avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(59.1%).In their comments,45%of surgeons choosing trapeziectomy alone cited evidence as an additional *** of prosthetic arthroplasty cited improved pinch strength(83.3%)and improved range of motion(63.3%),while those preferring arthrodesis cited better pinch strength(90%)and freque
