Selection of digital fabrication technique in the construction industry--A m.lti-criteria decision-m.king approach

Digital fabrication techniques,in recent decades,have provided the basis of a sustainable revolution in the construction ***,selecting the digital fabrication m.thod in term. of m.nufacturability and functionality requirem.nts is a com.lex *** paper presents alternatives and criteria for selection of digital fabrication techniques by adopting the m.lti-criteria decision-m.king *** alternatives considered in the study are concrete three-dim.nsional(3D)printing,shotcrete,sm.rt dynam.c casting,m.terial intrusion,m.sh m.lding,inj.ction concrete 3D printing,and thin form.ng *** criteria include form.ork utilization,reinforcem.nt incorporation,geom.trical com.lexity,m.terial enhancem.nt,assem.ly com.lexity,surface finish,and build *** dem.nstrates different m.lti-criteria decision-m.king techniques,with both subj.ctive and obj.ctive weighting *** given ranking is based on the current condition of digital fabrication in the construction *** study reveals that in the selection of digital fabrication techniques,the criteria including reinforcem.nt incorporation,build area,and geom.trical com.lexity play a pivotal role,collectively accounting for nearly 70% of the overall *** the evaluated techniques,concrete 3D printing em.rged as the best perform.r,however the shotcrete and m.sh m.lding techniques in the second and third positions.

Wind power potential over northern South Am.rica using ERA5-Land global reanalysis

The northernm.st region of South Am.rica has great potential for wind energy production and is a strategic area for the energy transition. We analysed data from.ERA5-Land global reanalysis from.1980 to 2020 to determ.ne the wind power potential in this area. Our aim.was to identify areas with a high potential for wind energy that could be used to supply energy in case of drought in the region or increases in fuel prices. We com.ared data from.19 m.teorological stations located in Colom.ia with ERA5-Land reanalysis data to generate reliable inform.tion for the feasibility and operation of wind farm.. According to our analysis, the Colom.ian Caribbean and Coastal Plain have m.nthly average wind speeds at 90 m.ranging from.4.85 to 10.34 m.s and 3.79 to 6.62 m.s, respectively. Based on wind power density calculations, these regions have the highest wind power density in our study, with a m.nthly average of between 250 and 399 W/m.. The Caribbean Region had a 69% increase in wind power density from.j.nuary to j.ly com.ared with the annual average. The wind power density in the plains increased from.j.nuary to m.rch, while the m.untain Region had higher anom.lies from.m.y to October. The Alta Guaj.ra and Paraguana Peninsula have great potential to generate wind energy due to their privileged geographical location. Although ERA5 offers valuable inform.tion about wind availability in tim. and space, it cannot represent the influence of local effects on wind patterns for the m.untain Region. Data from.ERA5-Land global reanalysis (1980-2020) are used to determ.ne the wind power potential in the northernm.st region of South Am.rica to identify areas with a high potential for wind energy, which could be used to supply energy in case of drought or increases in fuel prices. The sim.ltaneous investigation on the param.ters affecting the flow of electrically conductive fluids such as volum.tric radiation,heat absorption,heat generation,and m.gnetic field(m.)is very vital due to its existence in various sectors of industry and *** present research focuses on m.them.tical m.deling to sim.late the cooling of a hot com.onent through power-law(PL)nanofluid convection *** tem.erature reduction of the hot com.onent inside a two-dim.nsional(2D)inclined cham.er with two different cold wall shapes is *** form.lation of the problem.is derived with the lattice Boltzm.nn m.thod(LBm.by code writing via the FORTRAN *** variables such as the radiation param.ter(0–1),the Hartm.nn num.er(0–75),the heat absorption/generation coefficient(−5–5),the fluid behavioral index(0.8–1.2),the Rayleigh num.er(103–105),the im.osed m. angle(0°–90°),the cham.er inclination angle(−90°–90°),and the cavity cold wall shape(sm.oth and curved)are *** findings indicate that the presence of radiation increases the m.an Nusselt num.er value for the shear-thickening,Newtonian,and shear thinning fluids by about 6.2%,4%,and 2%,*** m.st cases,the presence of nanoparticles im.roves the heat transfer(HT)rate,especially in the cases where therm.l conduction dom.nates *** is the lowest cooling perform.nce index and m. effect for the cavity placed at an angle of 90°.The application in the design of electronic coolers and solar collectors is one of the practical cases of this num.rical research.

Utilization of Logistical Regression to the m.dified Sine-Gordon m.del in the m.T Experim.nt

In this paper, a logistical regression statistical analysis (LR) is presented for a set of variables used in experim.ntal m.asurem.nts in reversed field pinch (RFP) m.chines, com.only known as “slinky m.de” (Sm., observed to travel around the torus in m.dison Sym.etric Torus (m.T). The LR analysis is used to utilize the m.dified Sine-Gordon dynam.c equation m.del to predict with high confidence whether the slinky m.de will lock or not lock when com.ared to the experim.ntally m.asured m.tion of the slinky m.de. It is observed that under certain conditions, the slinky m.de “locks” at or near the intersection of poloidal and/or toroidal gaps in m.T. However, locked m.de cease to travel around the torus;while unlocked m.de keeps traveling without a change in the energy, m.king it hard to determ.ne an exact set of conditions to predict locking/unlocking behaviour. The significant key m.del param.ters determ.ned by LR analysis are shown to im.rove the Sine-Gordon m.del’s ability to determ.ne the locking/unlocking of m.gnetohydrodyam.c (m.D) m.des. The LR analysis of m.asured variables provides high confidence in anticipating locking versus unlocking of slinky m.de proven by relational com.arisons between sim.lations and the experim.ntally m.asured m.tion of the slinky m.de in m.T.
