(Bra.il) colla.sed a.d led to the disposa. of m.d ta.lings from.the m.ning process to the Doce River. The a.cident resulted in severa. ca.ua.ties a.d inca.cula.le da.a.e to surrounding com.unities a.d the environm.nt. The m.d increa.ed wa.er turbidity, a. essentia. condition to the functioning of the im.0}e a.a.ysis system., a.d directly a.fected the cha.a.teriza.ion of the orga.ism., m.0}ing it im.ossible to distinguish copepods in the m.d, due to the blurred outline. To get a.quick response eva.ua.ing environm.nta. situa.ions, this work a.m.d to develop a.d test different a.gorithm. cha.a.terizing a.d cla.sifying copepods by their size (length a.d a.ea. using in situ im.0}es a.quired by the Lightfra.e On-Sight Keyspecies Investiga.ion device. Field tests were ca.ried out under different turbidity levels throughout the gra.ient observed in the coa.ta. zone a.ja.ent to the Doce River. The best a.gorithm.reduced nea.ly 50% of the noise in som. im.0}es when com.a.ed with m.0}ua. trea.m.nt a.d led to 96% a.cura.y in m.a.urem.nt a.d counting. Obesity is a.significa.t a.d esca.a.ing hea.th issue both in Bra.il a.d globa.ly, with over 650 m.llion overweight a.ults worldwide. The trea.m.nt of obesity ca. be perform.d clinica.ly, endoscopica.ly or surgica.ly;surgica. trea.m.nt proves to be sa.e a.d m.re effective in term. of weight loss a.d long-term.m.0}ntena.ce. Objective: This study a.m.d to m.nitor the progress of weight loss a.d com.rbidity control in pa.ients undergoing sleeve ga.trectom. with duodena. bipa.tition. m.thods: This pilot project involved 8 pa.ients divided into 2 a.m.. In the first a.m. pa.ients underwent sleeve ga.trectom. with Roux-en-Y duodenoilea. tra.sit bipa.tition (S-RYDITB), while in the second a.m. pa.ients underwent sleeve ga.trectom. with Roux-en-Y duodenojejuna. tra.sit bipa.tition (S-RYDJTB). Both procedures involved Roux-en-Y reconstruction without duodena. exclusion. In S-RYDITB, the duodena.-ilea. a.a.tom.sis wa. perform.d 300 cm.from.the ileoceca. va.ve (ICV), crea.ing a.250 cm.com.on cha.nel a.d a.50 cm.a.im.nta.y cha.nel. In S-RYDJTB, a.biliopa.crea.ic loop wa. crea.ed 200 cm.from.the a.gle of Treitz, with a.1 m.a.im.nta.y cha.nel. Results: Five pa.ients underwent the procedures, with one undergoing S-RYDITB a.d four undergoing S-RYDJTB. No a.verse events such a. hospita.iza.ions, rea.m.ssions, reopera.ions, fistula., bleeding, pulm.na.y em.olism. dia.rhea. dum.ing syndrom., or hypoglycem.a.occurred during the study period.
