Prediction of rock fragmentation in a fiery seam of an open-pit coal mine in India

Spontaneous combustion of coal increases the temperature in adjoining overburden strata of coal seams and poses a challenge when loading *** condition,known as hot-hole blasting,is dangerous due to the increased possibility of premature explosions in loaded ***,it is crucial to load the blastholes with an appropriate amount of explosives within a short period to avoid premature detonation caused by high temperatures of ***,it will help achieve the desired fragment *** study tried to ascertain the most influencial variables of mean fragment size and their optimum values adopted for blasting in a fiery *** on blast design,rock mass,and fragmentation of 100 blasts in fiery seams of a coal mine were collected and used to develop mean fragmentation prediction models using soft computational *** coefficient of determination(r^(2)),root mean square error(rMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),mean square error(MSE),variance account for(VAF)and coefficient of efficiency in percentage(CE)were calculated to validate the *** indicates that the random forest algorithm(rFA)outperforms the artificial neural network(ANN),response surface method(rSM),and decision tree(DT).The values of r^(2),rMSE,MAE,MSE,VAF,and CE for rFA are 0.94,0.034,0.027,0.001,93.58,and 93.01,*** parametric sensitivity analyses(MPSAs)of the input variables showed that the Schmidt hammer rebound number and spacing-to-burden ratio are the most influencial variables for the blast fragment *** analysis was finally used to define the best blast design variables to achieve optimum fragment size from *** optimum factor values for rFA of S/B,ld/B and ls/ld are 1.03,1.85 and 0.7,respectively.

A biosynthetic gene cluster for the bioactive fungal sesterterpenoids variecolin(1)and variecolactone(2)was identified in Aspergillus aculeatus ATCC *** production of 1 and 2 was achieved in Aspergillus oryzae by expressing the sesterterpene synthase VrcA and the cytochrome P450 ***,the replacement of VrcB with homologous P450s from other fungal terpenoid pathways yielded three new variecolin analogues(5-7).Analysis of the compounds’anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo revealed that although 5 and 1 had comparable activities,5 was associated with significantly reduced toxic side effects in cancer-bearing mice,indicating its potentially broader therapeutic *** study describes the first tests of variecolin and its analogues in animals and demonstrates the utility of synthetic biology for creating molecules with improved biological activities.

In the present paper, the authors introduce a new integral transform which yields a number of potentially useful （known or new） integral transfoms as its special cases. Many fundamental results about this new integral transform, which are established in this paper, in- clude （for example） existence theorem, Parseval-type relationship and inversion formula. The relationship between the new integral transform with the H-function and the H-transform are characterized by means of some integral identities. The introduced transform is also used to find solution to a certain differential equation. Some illustrative examples are also given.

Combinatorial strategies for cancer eradication by silibinin and cytotoxic agents:efficacy and mechanisms

In an effort to develop effective alternative strategies that increase the therapeu-tic efficacy and minimize the systemic toxicity of chemotherapeutic agents,moreefforts are being directed towards the investigation of dietary supplements andother phytotherapeutic agents for their synergistic efficacy in combination withanticancer *** such agent is silibinin,which has shown promisingchemopreventive and anticancer effects in various in vitro and in vivo *** present review summarizes the effects of the combination of silibinin andchemotherapeutic drugs on the growth inhibition,cell cycle regulation,andapoptosis induction in prostate,breast,and lung cancer ***,theresults indicate a synergistic effect of silibinin on growth inhibition,reversal ofchemoresistance,apoptosis induction,and a strong increase in G2-M checkpointarrest when given in combination with these *** results are highlysignificant with respect to the combined chemotherapy approach,wherein thecriteria for combination is that the response has to be synergistic and that thedrugs should not share common mechanisms of resistance and not overlap intheir major side-effects.

Node Coverage Algorithms in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Mobile Agents

This paper proposes fault tolerant algorithms for routing mobile agents in a single channel wireless sensor network which cover every node in the network. These algorithms use local knowledge (assume no knowledge of global deployment or topology, etc). We propose the algorithms and show mathematical analysis to support our claims. The paper ends with simulation studies and discussion of results.

Cytomorphology of Gentiana kurroo: an important endangered bitter plant of temperate Himalaya

Gentiana kurroo, a potent bitter drug plant of Indian subcon- tinent, is under threat due to over exploitation and destruction of natural habitat. We studied the murphophenology and chromosomes of G. kurtoo on both wild and field grown plants, which is very important for proper identification, conservation and domestication. results reveal that G. kurroo is a perennial herb, and its shoot is represented by flowering branches only. Stem is modified to rhizome. The older rhizomes split into four parts at collar region appearing to fuse together at the ends and is an important diagnostic feature for crude raw materials. Two types of leaves i.e. radical leaves at the base of the plant and canline leaves on flowering shoot are present. Flowering occurs during September to October with 1-9 inflorescences per plant. Inflorescence is terminal monoca- sial cysome type. Mowers are protrandus. Anthesis starts around 7.30 am and continued till 10.0 am. Ovary is bicarpillary syncarpous unilocular. Fruit is Capsule and takes 18-20 days to mature after fertilization. Seeds are very small elliptical and 1 000 seeds weigh to 0.1275 g. Chromosomal studies made by usual squash method reveals the species is a genomic allotetreploid with n = 13. The anaphase-I segregation was normal and in none of the cells at Anaphase-I or Telophase-I could any abnor- mality like laggards, bridges, micronuclei etc. be observed.

Compared with bare-metal stents (BMS),drug-eluting stems (DES)have shown better clinical outcomes for pa- tients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) by inhibition of neo-intirnal hyperplasia.[1]However,early- generation DES produced late thrombotic events,more than l-year,by delaying arterial healing of stented vessels,[2-5] New-generation DES have been developed'with thinner stent struts,more biocompatible polymer coatings for drug release,and a variety of antiproliferative agents with similar or superior anti-restenotic efficacy.[6]This development has led to a significant improvement in the efficacy and safety of new-generation DES,and consistently lower rates of very late stent thrombosis (VLST).[7,8]In fact,use of new-ge- neration DES is the standard treatment in contemporary PCI practice.[9]

Analysis of Dielectric and Electro-optic responses of Nanomaterials Doped Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Mixture

Dielectric and rotational viscosity measurements of a multi-component ferroelectric liquid crystal mixture were performed by adding a small concentration （0.01 wt%） of silica and multi walled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs）. Liquid crystals turn out to be outstanding hosts for nanomaterials. A remarkable increase in the rotational viscosity was noticed in CNT doped system as compared to silica doped same liquid crystal system. Comparison of dielectric studies shows higher value of permittivity and dielectric losses for silica-doped sample than those of CNT doped sample. The results have been interpreted both experimentally and theoretically.
