The behavior of non-Newtonian power-law nanofluids under free convection heat transfer conditions in a cooled square enclosure equipped with a heated fin is investigated *** particular,the impact of nanofluids,composed of water and Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and Cu nanoparticles,on heat transfer enhancement is *** aim of this research is also to analyze the influence of different parameters,including the rayleigh number(ra=10^(4)-10^(6)),nanoparticle volume fraction(φ=0%-20%),non-Newtonian power-law indexes(n=0.6-1.4),and fin dimensions(Ar=0.3,0.5,and 0.7).Streamlines and isotherms are used to depict flow and related heat transfer *** indicate that thermal performance improves with increasing rayleigh number,regardless of the nanoparticle type or nanofluid rheological *** suggests that the buoyancy force has a significant impact on heat transfer,particularly near the heat *** Nusselt number is more sensitive to variations in Cu nanoparticle volume fractions compared to Al₂O₃and TiO₂.Moreover,the average Nusselt numbers for power-law nanofluids with n1)are greater(smaller)than for Newtonian fluids due to the decrease(increase)in viscosity with increasing(decreasing)shear rate,at the same values of rayleigh number ra owing to the amplification(attenuation)of the convective ***,the most substantial enhancement is observed with Cu-water shear-thinning nanofluid,where the Nusselt number increases by 136%when changing from Newtonian to shear thinning behavior and by 154.9%when adding 16%nanoparticle volume ***,an even larger increase of 57%in the average Nusselt number is obtained on increasing the fin length from 0.3 to 0.7.

As hydropower development expands across lowland tropical forests,flooding and concomitant insular fragmentation have become important threats to *** created insular landscapes serve as natural laboratories to investigate biodiversity responses to *** of these most iconic landscapes is the Balbina Hydroelectric Reservoir in Brazilian Amazonia,occupying>400000 ha and comprising>3500 forest ***,we synthesise the current knowledge on responses of a wide range of biological groups to insular fragmentation at *** has largely concentrated on a set of 22 islands and three mainland *** total,39 studies were conducted over nearly two decades,covering 17 vertebrate,invertebrate,and plant *** species responses varied according to taxonomic group,island area was consistently included and played a pivotal role in 66.7%of all studies examining patterns of species *** persistence was further affected by species traits,mostly related to species capacity to use/traverse the aquatic matrix or tolerate habitat degradation,as noted for species of vertebrates and orchid *** research is needed to improve our understanding of such effects on wider ecosystem *** Impact Assessments must account for changes in both the remaining habitat amount and configuration,and subsequent long-term species losses.

肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺对肾小球系膜细胞和肾小管上皮细胞NF-κB/MAPK信号通路的影响

目的探讨肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺(trimethylamine oxide,TMAO)对人肾小球系膜细胞HMC和肾小管上皮细胞HK-2核因子-κB(nuclear factor-kappa B,NF-κB)/丝裂原活化蛋白激酶(mitogen activated protein kinase,MAPK)信号通路的影响,为通过肠道菌群治疗和预防肾损伤提供理论依据。方法用TMAO处理HMC和HK-2细胞,并设未处理或TMAO处理0 h对照组,Real-time PCR法检测炎性反应因子MCP-1、Il-6、TNF-α和Il-1β基因mRNA的转录水平,Western blot法检测NF-κB和MAPK信号通路相关蛋白的表达。并用NF-κB抑制剂BAY11-7082处理HMC和HK-2细胞,验证TMAO的促炎作用。结果与对照组相比,HMC和HK-2细胞TMAO处理组炎性反应因子MCP-1、Il-6、TNF-α和Il-1βmRNA转录水平均明显上升(t=33.349,P=0.001),TMAO对两种细胞有明显的促炎作用;TMAO可激活HMC和HK-2细胞的NF-κB及MAPK信号通路,引起炎性反应,造成对肾脏的损伤。结论TMAO含量的增高可激活HMC和HK-2细胞NF-κB/MAPK信号通路,刺激两种细胞释放炎性反应因子,从而导致肾损伤的发生和发展。

Background: Electroacupuncture(EA) may reduce the severity of acute pancreatitis(AP) and provide additional pain relief in patients with chronic pancreatitis. However, the ability of EA to relieve pain in patients with AP has not been well ***: This study was undertaken to compare the pain-relieving effects of EA and conventional treatment in patients with ***, setting, participants and interventions: This study was conducted using a randomized, controlled,three-arm, parallel-group and multi-center design. Patients diagnosed with AP were randomly and equally assigned to EA1, EA2 or control groups. All participants received conventional standard-of-care therapy for AP. local EA alone was administered in EA1, and local plus distal EA was given in *** EA included two abdominal acupoints, while distal EA included twelve peripheral acupoints. EA groups underwent one session of EA daily for 4 days(days 1–4), or until pain was resolved or *** outcome measures: The primary outcome measure was the change in the visual analogue scale(VAS;0–100) pain score between baseline and day ***: Eighty-nine participants were randomized into EA1, EA2 and control groups, and 88(EA1, 30;EA2, 29;control, 29) were included in the full-analysis set. VAS score change(median [interquartile range]) on day 5 was(12.3 ± 22.5) in the EA1 group,(10.3 ± 21.5) in the EA2 group, and(8.9 ± 15.2) in the control group. There were not significant differences in the change in VAS score among treatments(P = 0.983). However, time to food intake was significantly shorter in the EA group(EA1 + EA2) than in the control group(median 2.0 days vs 3.0 days), with a hazard ratio of 0.581(P = 0.022;95% CI,0.366–0.924). No significant adverse events ***: EA treatment did not significantly reduce pain after 4 days of treatment in patients with AP-associated abdominal pain but significantly reduced time to first food intake.

流行性感冒病毒(简称流感病毒)每年引起较高的人群发病率和死亡率,对全球公共卫生安全构成严重威胁。流感病毒经过不断进化,具有躲避宿主免疫反应和逃避疫苗保护的能力。因此,有必要开发针对宿主细胞机制的药物或疫苗以降低重症率和死亡率。自然杀伤细胞(NK细胞)能够在非致敏状态下迅速杀伤病毒感染的宿主细胞,并具有免疫调节及记忆效应,为流感病毒的防治带来了希望。该文就NK细胞及其免疫激活在流感中的作用机制进行综述,为流感防治的新型药物或疫苗研究提供依据。

Human skin contains slowly adaptive(SA)and rapidly adaptive(ra)mechanoreceptors,which respond differently to external *** on human tactile perception principles,the fabrication of a self-powered electronic skin(e-skin)that simultaneously mimics SA-and ra-mechanoreceptors is a prime need for robots and artificial prosthetics to interact with the surrounding ***,the complex process of merging multimode sensors to mimic SA-and ra-mechanoreceptors hinders their utilization in *** proposed SA-and ra-mechanoreceptors based on n-type and semi-insulating GaN nanowire *** SA-and ra-mechanoreceptors demonstrated distinguished features such as grasping of objects and detection of their surface *** on piezoelectric sensing principles,the proposed e-skin can simultaneously mimic static and dynamic pressure *** further detected several stimuli of various pressures with low and high *** response and reset times showed by SA-mechanoreceptors were 11 and 18 ms under 1-Hz frequency,which are rapid enough for practical e-skin applications.
