The behavior of non-Newtonian power-law nanofluids under free convection heat transfer conditions in a cooled square enclosure equipped with a heated fin is investigated *** particular,the impact of nanofluids,composed of water and Al_(2)o_(3),Tio_(2),and Cu nanoparticles,on heat transfer enhancement is *** aim of this research is also to analyze the influence of different parameters,including the rayleigh number(ra=10^(4)-10^(6)),nanoparticle volume fraction(φ=0%-20%),non-Newtonian power-law indexes(n=0.6-1.4),and fin dimensions(Ar=0.3,0.5,and 0.7).Streamlines and isotherms are used to depict flow and related heat transfer *** indicate that thermal performance improves with increasing rayleigh number,regardless of the nanoparticle type or nanofluid rheological *** suggests that the buoyancy force has a significant impact on heat transfer,particularly near the heat *** Nusselt number is more sensitive to variations in Cu nanoparticle volume fractions compared to Al₂o₃and Tio₂.Moreover,the average Nusselt numbers for power-law nanofluids with n1)are greater(smaller)than for Newtonian fluids due to the decrease(increase)in viscosity with increasing(decreasing)shear rate,at the same values of rayleigh number ra owing to the amplification(attenuation)of the convective ***,the most substantial enhancement is observed with Cu-water shear-thinning nanofluid,where the Nusselt number increases by 136%when changing from Newtonian to shear thinning behavior and by 154.9%when adding 16%nanoparticle volume ***,an even larger increase of 57%in the average Nusselt number is obtained on increasing the fin length from 0.3 to 0.7.

In this study,the characteristics of environmental factors associated with typhoon Kongrey were examined using radiosonde,wind-profiler,radar,and Automated Surface observing System(ASoS)data in Uljin,which is located the eastern coast of *** radiosonde data were obtained from intensive observation between 1500 lST 5 to 0000 lST 7 october *** factors such as Total Precipitable Water(TPW)and Strom Relative Environmental helicity(SREh)were selected to examine their relations to typhoon-accompanied *** TPW peak with 60.54 mm appeared at 1200 lST 6 october,which is 6 h after the peak of typhoon *** was found that the TPW variation is largely associated with the effect of water vapor supply from the typhoon with nearest proximity to Uljin at 1500 lST 6 *** SREh,which indicates mechanical instability,was 761 m2 s-2 during the period in which typhoon precipitation *** environments would provide a good condition for the development of super-cell storms,causing heavy precipitation associated with *** addition,it was found that the correlation coefficient between SREh and typhoon rainfall is 0.8(p-value=0.02).

BACKGRoUND Temporal lobe epilepsy(TlE)is the most common focal epilepsy subtype in adults and is frequently accompanied by depression,anxiety and *** in total paraoxonase 1(PoN1)status may occur in TlE and these psychiatric *** To examine PoN1 status,namely Q192R PoN1 genotypes and PoN1 enzymatic activities,in *** We recruited 40 normal controls and 104 TlE patients,27 without comorbidities and 77 with comorbidities including mood disorders(n=25),anxiety disorders(n=27)and psychosis(n=25).RESUlTS Four-(chloromethyl)phenyl acetate hydrolysis(CMPAase)and arylesterase activities were significantly lower in TlE and mesial temporal sclerosis(MTS)with and without psychiatric comorbidities than those in normal *** areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve of CMPAase were 0.893(0.037)for TlE and 0.895(±0.037)for *** least squares path analysis showed that there were specific indirect effects of PoN1 genotype on TlE severity(Phopathology(Phich were both mediated by lowered CMPAase activity,while arylesterase activity was not *** severity of TlE was significantly associated with psychopathology ***,PoN1 CMPAase activity was inversely associated with Mini Mental State Examination *** The severity of TlE and comorbidities are to a large extent explained by reduced PoN1 enzyme activities and by effects of the Q192R genotype,which are mediated by reduced CMPAase *** PoN1 status plays a key role in the pathophysiology of TlE,MTS and psychiatric comorbidities by increasing the risk of oxidative ***1 enzyme activities are new drug targets in TlE to treat seizure frequency and psychiatric comorbidities.

肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺对肾小球系膜细胞和肾小管上皮细胞NF-κB/MAPK信号通路的影响

目的探讨肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺(trimethylamine oxide,TMAo)对人肾小球系膜细胞hMC和肾小管上皮细胞hK-2核因子-κB(nuclear factor-kappa B,NF-κB)/丝裂原活化蛋白激酶(mitogen activated protein kinase,MAPK)信号通路的影响,为通过肠道菌群治疗和预防肾损伤提供理论依据。方法用TMAo处理hMC和hK-2细胞,并设未处理或TMAo处理0 h对照组,Real-time PCR法检测炎性反应因子MCP-1、Il-6、TNF-α和Il-1β基因mRNA的转录水平,Western blot法检测NF-κB和MAPK信号通路相关蛋白的表达。并用NF-κB抑制剂BAY11-7082处理hMC和hK-2细胞,验证TMAo的促炎作用。结果与对照组相比,hMC和hK-2细胞TMAo处理组炎性反应因子MCP-1、Il-6、TNF-α和Il-1βmRNA转录水平均明显上升(t=33.349,P=0.001),TMAo对两种细胞有明显的促炎作用;TMAo可激活hMC和hK-2细胞的NF-κB及MAPK信号通路,引起炎性反应,造成对肾脏的损伤。结论TMAo含量的增高可激活hMC和hK-2细胞NF-κB/MAPK信号通路,刺激两种细胞释放炎性反应因子,从而导致肾损伤的发生和发展。

Methylsulfonylmethane suppresses hepatic tumor development through activation of apoptosis

AIM:To investigate the effect of methylsulfonylmethane(MSM), recently reported to have anti-cancer effects, in liver cancer cells and transgenic mice. METhoDS: Three liver cancer cell lines, hepG2, huh7-Mock and huh7-h-rasG12V, were used. Cell growth was measured by Cell Counting Kit-8 and soft agar assay. Western blot analysis was used to detect caspases, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP), and B-cell lymphoma2(Bcl-2) expressions. For in vivo study, we administered MSM to h-ras12V transgenic mice for 3 mo. RESUlTS: MSM decreased the growth of hepG2, huh7-Mock and huh7-h-rasG12V cells in a dose-dependent manner. That was correlated with significantly increased apoptosis and reduced cell numbers in MSM treated cells. Cleaved caspase-8, cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved PARP were remarkably increased in the liver cancer cells treated with 500 mmol/l of MSM; however, Bcl-2 was slightly decreased in 500 mmol/l. liver tumor development was greatly inhibited in the h-ras12V transgenic mice treated with MSM, compared to control, by showing reduced tumor size and number. Cleaved PARP was significantly increased in non-tumor treated with MSM compared to control. CoNClUSIoN: liver injury was also significantly attenuated in the mice treated with MSM. Taken together, all the results suggest that MSM has anti-cancer effects through inducing apoptosis in liver cancer.

The rising claim for more environmental friendly and healthy agriculture is a strong incentive to find alternative strategies to replace the use of mineral fertilizer and pesticide. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), a main component of soil microbiota, represent a promising tool as providers of key ecological services. The present work represented one of the first attempts to study, under a morphological and molecular point of view, the AMF communities associated to some strategic crops in Vietnam. The findings about the AMF morphotypes dominant in different crop systems could be a starting point for the development of well performing and adapted inocula suitable for the application in field.

Body-centered-cubic martensite and the role on room-temperature tensile properties in Si-added SiVCrMnFeCo high-entropy alloys

We present a new class of metastable high-entropy alloys(hEAs),triggering deformation-induced martensitic transformation(DIMT)from face-centered-cubic(FCC)to body-centered-cubic(BCC),i.e.,*** the ab-initio calculation based on 1 st order axial interaction model and combined with the Gibbs free energy calculation,the addition of Si is considered as a critical element which enables to reduce the intrinsic stacking fault energy(ISFE)in Si_xV_((9-x))Cr_(10)Mn_5 Fe_(46)Co_(30)(x=2,4,and 7 at.%)alloy *** ISFE decreases from-30.4 to-35.5 mJ/m^(2)as the Si content increases from 2 to 7 at.%,which well corresponds to the reduced phase stability of FCC against *** BCC-DIMT occurs in all the alloys via intermediate hCP martensite,and the hCP martensite provides nucleation sites of BCC ***,the transformation rate enhances as the Si content increases in an earlier deformation ra ***,the BCC-DIMT is also affected by the phase stability of FCC against BCC,and the stability is the highest at the Si content of 7 at.%.Thus,the 7Si alloy presents the moderate transformation rate in the later deformation *** to the well-controlled transformation rate and consequent strain-ha rdening rate,the 7Si alloy possesses the superior combination of strength and ductility beyond 1 GPa of tensile strength at room *** results suggest that the Si addition can be a favorable candidate in various metastable hEAs for the further property improvement.

近年来,短期、长期居住在高海拔地区的人数不断增加,超过8160万人生活在海拔≥2500米的地区,而中国常居高原者超过1000万,每年进入高原的人口超过2000万。独特的高原气候引发了一系列高原相关性疾病,其中高原脑水肿(haCE)是最严重的疾病之一,如果不及时进行适当治疗,患者可能会在24 h内因脑疝死亡。然而,haCE发展的确切机制尚不完全清楚,使得haCE的防和治具有挑战性。间充质干细胞(MSC)及间充质干细胞外泌体(MSC-Exos)具有修复受损组织和细胞、抗氧化应激、抑制炎症反应、调节自噬等作用,有可能成为防治haCE的新型药物。本文结合国内外相关文献阐述高原脑水肿发病机制及MSC、MSC-Exos在其中可能发挥的作用,为MSC、MSC-Exos防治haCE提供理论依据。

Isolation and Selection of Beneficial Microorganism Used for Peanut Growing in Sandy Soil of Binhdinh Province, Vietnam

With the aim to apply the beneficial microorganisms to peanut （groundnut （Arachis hypogaea）） growing in sandy soil of Binhdinh province in Vietnam, the paper was conducted to study the isolation, selection of N-fixing, phosphate, potassium solubilizing and slime producing microorganism from sandy soil and peanut root samples, and evaluate the capability of selected isolates to adapt to the sandy soil condition. The isolation and selection of beneficial microbes were based on the biological activity of isolates, which was determined by acetylene reduction assay and nodulation on the peanut for Rhizobium spp., by testing the capability to solubilize Ca3（Po4）2 or fenspat in the growth medium for phosphate, potassium solubilizing microbes, and by measurement of the viscosity of hansen medium for slime producing microorganism. All isolates were evaluated for the effectiveness on the nutrition uptake and growth of peanut by carrying out at the greenhouse and field experiments. To evaluate the adaptation of selected isolates to the sandy soil condition, the experiments were carried out in the laboratory to determine the microbial density in suitable medium, containing different NaCI concentrations or with different ph or at different temperatures. The results showed that rhizobial strain ra18 had an N-fixing activity value of 3,458 ＋ 10.95 nmol C2h2/plant and can supply 30% of N required for peanut. The bacterial strain P 1107 is able to solubilize phosphate and can increase phosphorus uptake by 30% in peanut. Further, inoculation of peanut with the bacterial strain S3.1 can save 30% required mineral potassium, and the lipomyces strain PT5.1 can produce the slime, which can provide the sandy soil to keep moisture for 15 d longer than the control without the inoculation. All selected isolates are able to grow at temperatures from 20 ℃ to 35 ℃, ph from 4.5 to 6.0 and the salinity of 0.2%o-0.6%o NaCI, and can well adapt to the sandy soil conditions.

objective:To determine the effect of lentinula edodes extract on ultraviolet(UV)A and UVB-induced changes in matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)and type I procollagen expression using human immortalized haCaT ***:lentinula edodes ethanol extract(lEE)was obtained by extraction with 80%ethanol for 4 h at 80℃.Effect of lEE on UVinduced alteration on the expression and production of MMPs and type I procollagen in keratinocytes was investigated using ElISA,RT-PCR,and Western blotting *** determine the underlying mechanism of lEE-mediated effects,mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and activator protein 1 signaling pathways were analysed by Western blotting ***:lEE significantly inhibited the expression of MMP-1 and MMP-9 and increased the expression of type I procollagen in UVA and UVB-irradiated haCaT *** phosphorylation levels of p38 were significantly inhibited by lEE whereas it did not affect c-Jun N-terminal kinase and extracellular signal-regulated kinase *** of p38 phosphorylation was also accompanied by downregulation of UVA and UVB-induced increase in ***:lEE effectively inhibits the expression of MMP-1 and MMP-9 and increases type I procollagen production through the p38 MAPK/c-Fos signaling pathway in UVA and UVB-irradiated haCaT *** findings suggest that lentinula edodes may be developed as a cosmetic material to suppress UV exposuremediated skin aging.
