Controlled temperature-mediated curcumin release from magneto-thermal nanocarriers to kill bone tumors

Systemic chemotherapy has lost its position to treat cancer over the past years mainly due to drug resistance,side effects,and limited survival *** a plethora of local drug delivery systems to solve this issue,the combinatorial strategy of chemo-hyperthermia has recently received *** we developed a magneto-thermal nanocarrier consisted of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPIONs)coated by a blend formulation of a three-block copolymer Pluronic F127 and F68 on the oleic acid(OA)in which Curcumin as a natural and chemical anti-cancer agent was *** subsequent nanocarrier SPION@OA-F127/F68-Cur was designed with a controlled gelation temperature of the shell,which could consequently control the release of *** release was systematically studied as a function of temperature and pH,via response surface methodology(rSM).The bone tumor killing efficacy of the released curcumin from the carrier in combination with the hyperthermia was studied on MG-63 osteosarcoma cells through Alamar blue assay,live-dead staining and apoptosis caspase 3/7 activation *** was found that the shrinkage of the F127/F68 layer stimulated by elevated temperature in an alternative magnetic field caused the curcumin *** the maximum release concentration and cell death took place at 45℃,treatment at 41℃ was chosen as the optimum condition due to considerable cell apoptosis and lower side effects of mild *** cell metabolic activity results confirmed the synergistic effects of curcumin and hyperthermia in killing MG-63 osteosarcoma cells.

Analytical solution of multiple moving cracks in functionally graded piezoelectric strip

The dynamic behaviors of several moving cracks in a functionally graded piezoelectric （FGP） strip subjected to anti-plane mechanical loading and in-plane elec- trical loading are investigated. For the first time, the distributed dislocation technique is used to construct the integral equations for FGP materials, in which the unknown variables are the dislocation densities. With the dislocation densities, the field intensity factors are determined. Moreover, the effects of the speed of the crack propagation on the field intensity factors are studied. Several examples are solved, and the numerical results for the stress intensity factor and the electric displacement intensity factor are presented graphically finally.

Numerical study of flow and thermal characteristics of pulsed impinging jet on a dimpled surface

This research comprehensively investigates the flow and thermal characteristics of a pulsating impinging jet over a dimpled *** analyzes the impact of key parameters(e.g.,inlet velocity pulsation functions,pulsation frequency,amplitude,dimple pitch,dimple depth,reynolds number)on flow patterns and heat *** computational fluid dynamics and the re-normalization group turbulence model are employed to accurately simulate complex turbulent flow *** and average heat transfer coefficients are calculated and compared to steady impingement cases,revealing the potential benefits of pulsation for heat transfer *** study also examines how pulsation-induced flow modulation and thermal mixing affect heat transfer *** indicate that combining fluctuating flow with a dimpled surface can improve heat transfer *** summary,increasing pulsation amplitude consistently enhances heat transfer,while the effect of frequency varies between impinging and wall jet zones.

本文旨在研究孔隙度对具有不均匀横截面的功能分级多孔梁的自由振动和屈曲行为的影响。一般认为材料的性能沿厚度方向变化,而梁的横截面沿其长度方向分布不均匀。三种不同的孔隙度分布包括对称分布、非对称分布和均匀分布。利用经典的梁理论和Hamilton原理推导出了问题的控制方程,并用微分求积法推导出公式。通过已知方法和分析解法对所得结果进行了验证。通过网格独立性研究,确定了最优离散化设置。利用详细的参数化分析研究了不同力学参数,包括孔隙率系数、长径比和变化截面对基频和临界屈曲载荷的影响。结果表明,材料孔隙率的增加会导致梁的屈曲能力显著降低。然而,梁的自由振动行为完全取决于其孔隙度模式。此外,孔隙呈对称分布的梁其屈曲能力和基频性能最好。

Impact of umbelliprenin-containing niosome nanoparticles on VEGF-A and CTGF genes expression in retinal pigment epithelium cells

AIM:To investigate the impact of niosome nanoparticles carrying umbelliprenin(UMB),an anti-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory plant compound,on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF-A)and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)genes in a human retinal pigment epithelium(rPE)-like retina-derived cell ***:UMB-containing niosomes were created,optimized,and ***-like cells were treated with free UMB and UMB-containing *** IC_(50)values of the treatments were determined using an MTT *** expression of VEGF-A and CTGF was evaluated using real-time polymerase chain reaction after rNA extraction and cDNA ***’characteristics,including drug entrapment efficiency,size,dispersion index,and zeta potential were *** UMB had an IC_(50)of 96.2μg/mL,while UMB-containing niosomes had an IC_(50)of 25μg/***:Treatment with UMB-containing niosomes and free UMB resulted in a significant reduction in VEGF-A expression compared to control cells(P=0.001).Additionally,UMB-containing niosomes demonstrated a significant reduction in CTGF expression compared to control cells(P=0.05).However,there was no significant reduction in the expression of both genes in cells treated with free ***:Both free UMB and niosome-encapsulated UMB inhibits VEGF-A and CTGF genes ***,the latter demonstrates significantly greater efficacy,potentially due to the lower UMB dosage and gradual *** findings have implications for anti-angiogenesis therapeutic approaches targeting age-related macular degeneration.

Objective:Only a few numbers of studies have been published on the use of abobotulinumtoxinA(Dysport®)in idiopathic detrusor overactivity(IDO).This study reported the long-term follow-up of women with IDO who were treated with intravesical Dysport®***:Two hundred and thirty-six patients with IDO who had failed first-line conservative and antimuscarinic therapy received 500-900 units of Dysport®between April 2014 and July *** patients were followed up for 5 years after their initial injection and interviewed on the ***:A total of 236 women with IDO aged from 18 years to 84 years(mean±standard deviation:49.6±15.9 years)were included in our *** median follow-up time for patients was 36.5(range:10-70)months,and the median recovery time after injection was 18.5(range:0-70)months.A total of 83(35.2%)patients stated that they had subjective improvement of their symptoms whereas 84(35.6%)patients did not report any improvement in *** initial International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder mean score was 6.9(standard deviation 3.4).There was a positive association between the median recovery time and the components of the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder ***:In a sub-population of overactive bladder patients with IDO who have failed first-line therapy,a single intravesical Dysport®injection can resolve patient symptoms completely or reduce the symptoms to an acceptable level that can be controlled with antimuscarinics or re-injection on demands.

Purpose:The purpose of the National Spinal Cord Injury registry of Iran(NSCIr-Ir)is to create an infrastructure to assess the quality of care for spine trauma and in this study,we aim to investigate whether the NSCIr-Ir successfully provides necessary post-discharge follow-up data for these ***:An observational prospective study was conducted from April 11,2021 to April 22,2022 in 8 centers enrolled in NSCIr-Ir,respectively Arak,rasht,Urmia,Shahroud,Yazd,Kashan,Tabriz,and *** were classified into 3 groups based on their need for care resources,respectively:(1)non-spinal cord injury(SCI)patients without surgery(group 1),(2)non-SCI patients with surgery(group 2),and(3)SCI patients(group 3).The assessment tool was a self-designed questionnaire to evaluate the care quality in 3 phases:pre-hospital,in-hospital,and *** data from the first 2 phases were collected through the *** post-hospital data were collected by conducting follow-up *** follow-ups were conducted for groups 1 and 2(non-SCI patients),while group 3(SCI patients)had a face-to-face *** study took place during the COVID-19 *** on age and time interval from injury to follow-up were expressed as mean±standard deviation(SD)and response rate and follow-up loss as a ***:Altogether 1538 telephone follow-up records related to 1292 patients were registered in the *** the total calls,918(71.05%)were related to successful follow-ups,but 38 cases died and thus were excluded from data *** the end,post-hospital data from 880 patients alive were *** success rate of follow-ups by telephone for groups 1 and 2 was 73.38%and 67.05%respectively,compared to 66.67%by face-to-face visits for group 3,which was very hard during the COVID-19 *** data completion rate after discharge ranged from 48%-100%,22%-100%and 29%-100%for groups ***:To improve patient accessibility,NSCIr-Ir should take me

recently,some concepts such as Hom-algebras,Hom-Lie algebras,Hom-Lie admissible algebras,Hom-coalgebras are studied and some classical properties of algebras and some geometric objects are extended on *** this paper by recalling the concept of Hom-ρ-commutative algebras,the authurs intend to develop some of the most classical results in riemannian geometry such as metric,connection,torsion tensor,curvature tensor on it and also they discuss about differential operators and get some results of differential calculus by using *** notions of symplectic structures and Poisson structures are included and an example ofρ-Poisson bracket is given.
