High electrical conductivity guarantees a rapid electron transfer and thus plays an important role in *** particular,for the single atom catalysts(SACs),to facilitate interaction between the single atom and supports,precisely engineering the conductivity represents a promising strategy to design SACs with high electrochemical *** we show rhodium(Rh)SAC anchored on Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets arrays on nickel foam(nF),which is modified by a facile phosphorus(P-doped Rh SACCo_(3)O_(4)/nF),possessing an appropriate electronic structure and high conductivity for electrocatalytic *** the introduction of P atom in the lattice,the electrocatalyst demonstrates outstanding alkaline oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activity with 50 mA·cm^(−2) under overpotential of 268 mV,6 times higher than that of Ir/C/*** interestingly,the P-doped Rh SAC-Co_(3)O_(4)/nF can get 50 mA·cm^(−2) at only 1.77 V for overall water *** electrical conductivity studies and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the high conductivity at grain boundary improves the charge transfer efficiency of the Rh catalytic ***,other noble-metal(Ir,Pd,and Ru)doped Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets arrays are prepared to exhibit the general efficacy of the phosphorus doping strategy.

Death and do-not-resuscitate order in the emergency department:A single-center three-year retrospective study in the Chinese mainland

BACKGROUnD:Consenting to do-not-resuscitate(DnR)orders is an important and complex medical decision-making process in the treatment of patients at the end-of-life in emergency departments(EDs).The DnR decision in EDs has not been extensively studied,especially in the Chinese ***:This retrospective chart study of all deceased patients in the ED of a university hospital was conducted from January 2017 to December *** patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest were ***:There were 214 patients’deaths in the ED in the three *** them,132 patients were included in this study,whereas 82 with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest were *** were 99(75.0%)patients’deaths after a DnR order medical decision,64(64.6%)patients signed the orders within 24 hours of the ED admission,68(68.7%)patients died within 24 hours after signing it,and 97(98.0%)patients had DnR signed by the family *** analysis showed that four independent factors infl uenced the family surrogates’decisions to sign the DnR orders:lack of referral(odds ratio[OR]0.157,95%confi dence interval[CI]0.047–0.529,P=0.003),ED length of stay(ED LOS)≥72 hours(OR 5.889,95%CI 1.290–26.885,P=0.022),acute myocardial infarction(AMI)(OR 0.017,95%CI 0.001–0.279,P=0.004),and tracheal intubation(OR 0.028,95%CI 0.007–0.120,PnCLUSIOnS:In the Chinese mainland,the proportion of patients consenting for DnR order is lower than that of developed *** decision to sign DnR orders is mainly affected by referral,ED LOS,AMI,and trachea intubation.

Millimeter-sized few-layer graphene sheets with aligned channels for fast lithium-ion charging kinetics

Assembly of the top-down graphene units mostly results in 3D porous structure with randomly organized *** direct bottom-up synthesis of macroscopic 2D graphene sheets with organized pores are long sought in materials chemistry field,but rarely ***,we present a self-catalysisassisted bottom-up route usingL-glutamic acid and iron chloride as starting materials for the fabrication of the millimeter-sized few-layer graphene sheets with aligned porous channels parallel to the 2D *** amino-and carboxyl-functional groups inL-glutamic acid can coordinate with iron cations,thus allowing an atomic dispersion of iron *** pyrolysis thus initiated the growth of graphene catalyzed by in-situ generated iron nanoparticles,and a dynamic flow of iron nanoparticles eventually led to the formation of millimeter-sized few-layer graphene sheets with aligned channels(60-85 nm in diameter).Used as anodes in lithium-ion batteries,these graphene sheets showed a good rate capability(142 m A h g^(-1) at 2 A g^(-1))and high capacity retention of 93%at 2 A g^(-1) after 1200 *** analysis revealed that lithium ions storage was dominated by diffusion behavior and capacitive behavior together,in that graphene sheets with aligned channels could accelerate electron transfer and shorten lithium ions transport *** work provides a novel approach to prepare unique porous graphene materials with specific structure for energy storage.

Extreme environments such as salt stress often increase the reactive oxygen species （ROS） levels （Abogadallah, 2010; Miller et al., 2010）, which cause protein denaturation and damage （Kelsen et al., 2008）. In eukaryotic cells, the endo- plasmic reticulum （ER） lumen is highly oxidative environment, which help newly synthesized proteins form intermolecular or intramolecular disulfide bonds between their cysteine residues. However, the ROS must be regulated according to the folding load to protect the cell from the consequences of oxidative folding.

Emodin attenuates inflammation and demyelination in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis

Emodin,a substance extracted from herbs such as rhubarb,has a protective effect on the central nervous ***,the potential therapeutic effect of emodin in the context of multiple sclerosis remains *** this study,a rat model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis was established by immune induction to simulate multiple sclerosis,and the rats were intraperitoneally injected with emodin(20 mg/kg/d)from the day of immune induction until they were *** this model,the nucleotide-binding domain-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(nLRP3)inflammasome and the microglia exacerbated neuroinflammation,playing an important role in the development of multiple *** addition,silent information regulator of transcription 1(SIRT1)/peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha coactivator(PGC-1α)was found to inhibit activation of the nLRP3 inflammasome,and SIRT1 activation reduced disease severity in experimental autoimmune ***,treatment with emodin decreased body weight loss and neurobehavioral deficits,alleviated inflammatory cell infiltration and demyelination,reduced the expression of inflammatory cytokines,inhibited microglial aggregation and activation,decreased the levels of nLRP3 signaling pathway molecules,and increased the expression of SIRT1 and PGC-1α.These findings suggest that emodin improves the symptoms of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis,possibly through regulating the SIRT1/PGC-1α/nLRP3 signaling pathway and inhibiting microglial *** findings provide experimental evidence for treatment of multiple sclerosis with emodin,enlarging the scope of clinical application for emodin.

Surface defect ordered Cu_(2)ZnSn(S,Se)_(4) solar cells with efficiency over 12% via manipulating local substitution

The environmentally friendly Cu_(2)ZnSn(S,Se)_(4)(CZTSSe) compounds are promising direct bandgap materials for application in thin film solar cells, but the spontaneous surface defects disordering would lead to large open-circuit voltage deficit(V_(oc,deficit)) and significantly limit kesterite photovoltaics performance,primarily arising from the generated more recombination centers and insufficient p to n conversion at p-n junction. Herein, we establish a surface defects ordering structure in CZTSSe system via local substitution of Cu by Ag to suppress disordered Cu_(Zn) defects and generate benign n-type Zn_(Ag) donors. Taking advantage of the decreased annealing temperature of Ag F post deposition treatment(PDT), the high concentration of Ag incorporated into surface absorber facilitates the formation of surface ordered defect environment similar to that of efficient CIGS PV. The manipulation of highly doped surface structure could effectively reduce recombination centers, increase depletion region width and enlarge the band bending near p-n junction. As a result, the Ag F-PDT device finally achieves maximum efficiency of 12.34% with enhanced V_(oc) of 0.496 V. These results offer a new solution route in surface defects and energy-level engineering, and open the way to build up high quality p-n junction for future development of kesterite technology.

numerical study of effect of post injection coupled with EGR on combustion and emission performances of CRDI engine fueled with biodiesel-ethanol blends

Energy shortage and environmental pollution are becoming more serious,biodiesel is regarded as the most promising alternative fuel for diesel engines due to its environmentally friendly and renewable *** this study,the biodiesel-ethanol blends were used in a diesel engine,and the purpose of the study was to simultaneously control the nOx and soot emissions of the diesel engine by adjusting the injection strategy and EGR rate.A turbocharged,six-cylinder,common rail direct injection(CRDI)engine model was established using *** effects of the main-post injection strategy and post injection coupled with exhaust gas recirculation(EGR)on combustion and emission characteristics were investigated at a maximum torque speed and a medium *** results show that when the main-post injection strategy is employed,the combustion duration of the main injection is shortened with an increase in the main-post injection interval(MPI).When the MPI increased to more than 18℃A,the heat release of post injection could be observed clearly from the curve of the heat release rate,nOx emissions decreased by 5.70%and 7.12%,respectively,and soot emissions decreased by 25.56%and 30.20%,***,with the increasing post injection quantity,the combustion duration of the main injection shortened,and the peak heat release rate(PHRR)of the post injection *** the fuel quantity for the post injection increased from 2 to 6 mg,nOx emissions decreased from 2.33%to 9.80%,and soot emissions decreased from 16.10%to 34.97%.The effect of post injection quantity on emissions was more significant than that of the *** addition,with increasing EGR rate,the ignition delay is prolonged,the peak cylinder pressure,PHRR,peak combustion temperature and nOx emissions decrease,whereas soot emissions increase ***-post injection can improve the nO-soot trade-off,the optimal EGR rate is 22.86%under a post injection quantity of 4 mg and a MPI of 22℃A.

Single-cell RnA sequencing reveals the landscape of maize root tips and assists in identification of cell type-specific nitrate-response genes

The root system is fundamental for maize growth and *** its heterogeneity and cell type-specific response to nitrate at the single-cell level will shed light on root development and nutrient *** profiled the transcriptomes of>7000 cells derived from root tips of maize seedlings grown on media with or without nitrate,and identified 11 major cell types or tissues and 85 cell type-specific nitrate-response genes,including several known nitrate metabolic genes.A pseudotime analysis showed a continuous pseudotime series with the beginning at meristematic zone cells and showed that the root hair cell was derived by differentiation of a subset of epidermal *** comparison of root cells between maize and rice revealed the conservation and divergence of the root cell types and identified 57,216,and 80 conserved orthologous genes in root hair,endodermis,and phloem cells *** study provides a global view of maize root tip developmental processes and responses to nitrate at the single-cell *** genes described in the present work could serve as targets for further genetic analyses and accurate regulation of gene expression and phenotypic variation in specific cell types or tissues.

A review of the phytochemistry and pharmacological activities of Ephedra herb

Ephedra herb is a traditional Chinese medicine with a long history. Conventionally, it was used as a folk phytomedicine in many ancient medical books and traditional prescriptions. Up to date, a variety of specific ingredients have been found in Ephedra herb, mainly including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, polysaccharides, organic acids, volatile oils, and many other active compounds. These components from Ephedra herb account for its use as the accurate treatment of cold, cough, cardiovascular and immune system disease, cancer, microbial infection, and other diseases. Moreover, with the fast development of novel chemistry and medicine technology, new chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of Ephedra herb are increasingly identified, demonstrating their great potential for various diseases treatment. Therefore, further detailed understanding and investigation of this ancient herb will offer new opportunities to develop novel therapeutics. This study systematically reviews its progress of phytochemistry, traditional and modern pharmacology based on research data that have been reported, aiming at providing useful insight for commercial exploitation, further study and precision medication of Ephedra herb in future.

Proteomic Analysis of the Small Intestine Reveals Adaptive Strategies for Energy Restriction of Phrynocephalus vlangalii at High Altitude

The environmental characteristics of hypothermia and hypoxia exert great selective pressure on the energy metabolism of high-altitude animals,especially the *** research on energy-limited adaptation of high-altitude ectotherms has focused on energy ***,the mechanisms of increasing energy intake in high-altitude ectotherms have been studied *** order to investigate the adaptation mechanism of the small intestine,the key part of energy acquisition for animals,to energy limitation at high altitude in ectotherms,the gut proteins of Phrynocephalus vlangalii from high-and low-altitude populations were compared using label free *** enrichment and KEGG pathway analysis showed that proteins associated with energy intake,such as those involved in oxidation-reduction processes,glutathione metabolism,oxidoreductase activity,cofactor binding,catalytic activity and metabolic pathways,were significantly up-regulated in high-altitude populations;while proteins associated with energy expenditure,such as immune responses and processes,membrane attack complexes,natural killer pathway and other immune-related processes,were significantly down-regulated in expression.
