The use of low embankments is of significant concern for ecological protection in aridoasis *** on the project of Sansha Expressway located in Kashgar City,Xinjiang,China,physical model tests were conducted in this study to investigate the dynamic response of the low embankment as per the effects of road structure,load amplitude,load frequency,load cycle,and moisture *** dynamic stress is shown to increase with load amplitude while the dynamic elastic modulus decreases with load amplitude under short-term *** load frequency slightly influences the soil’s dynamic behavior;higher frequencies can improve the dynamic elastic modulus of the subgrade *** moisture content has greater influence on the mechanical properties of the subsoil than that of subgrade *** subgrade bears the majority of the traffic load as the stress dissipates to 37%of the whole value on its *** number of load cycles has the greatest effect on the dynamic response among the influencing factors *** dynamic elastic modulus with the type of long-term dynamic loading is only 40%-52%of that with static loading across the entire depth *** dynamic stress shows significant accumulation with load cycles over the long-term dynamic loading test and becomes stable after 8×10~4 cycles of *** equation is established to quantify the cumulative dynamic stress in the low embankment under long-term dynamic loading conditions.

Background Wheat-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis （WDEIA） is a complex disease resulting from interaction of environmental and genetic factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of three single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs）（IL-4-C590T, IL-4RA A1727G and IL-10-A627C） with WDEIA. Methods SNP genotyping was conducted among the case subset composing 51 patients with WDEIA and four control subsets by sequencing DNA yielded from polymerase chain reaction （PCR）. Statistical analysis of genotype/allele＇s frequencies between cases and controls were carried out through Fisher＇s exact test with the software of SPSS16.0. Results For IL-4-C590T, there were statistically significant differences of genotype frequencies in case-control 1 （P=0.03） and case-control 4 （P=0.001） and statistically significant differences of allele frequencies in three case-control models （case-control 1：OR=4.27 （95% CI=1.40-13.07）, P=0.009; case-control 3：OR=1.99 （95% CI=1.13-3.50）, P=0.02; case-control 4：OR=2.39 （95% CI=1.49-3.84）, P=0.001）. All other association studies showed no statistically significant （P 〉0.05）. Conclusions IL-4-C590T may be related to the susceptibility of WDEIA, and the minor allele C might be a potential risk factor accounting for WDEIA. IL-4RA A1727G and IL-10-A627C might not be involved in the occurrence of WDEIA.

Seedless citrus has become one of the breeding goals due to its high edible ratio and convenience in fresh consumption and *** this study, the ‘Hongjiangcheng' sweet orange(WT) and its seedless mutant(MT) after cobalt-60 radiation were selected to study the formation metabolism of citrus seedless phenotype. Compared with WT, the MT had altered primary metabolite contents, as indicated by GC-MS analysis. The mature pollen of the MT was mostly distorted and shrunken, and the orange mutant exhibited significantly lower fertility than the WT. Through pollination experiments and paraffin sectioning of the MT, we observed self-compatibility during pollen tube germination in situ, in combination with the absence of natural parthenocarpy and arrested zygotic embryo development at the fourth week after pollination. From transcriptomic analyses of ovules in the fourth week, 815 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were ***, according to the annotation of gene function and qRT-PCR analysis, Cs4g10930, Cs5g21900 and orange1.1t02243 were identified as candidate genes that may govern the mechanism of seedlessness. Finally, Agrobacterium-mediated transformation verified that the overexpression of Cs4g10930 and Cs5g21900 in Newhall navel orange calli inhibited embryoid production. This study provides a better understanding of seedless formation in citrus and two key genes that may play an important role in the early selection of seedless lines in citrus breeding programs.

A new cadmium polymer [Cd（NBA）（μ3-OH）（4,4＇-bipy）1/2]n 1 （NBA=m-nitrobenzoic acid and 4,4＇-bipy=4,4-bipyridine） has been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction. Its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method, and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectrum. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group C2/c, with a=15.6912（9）, b=25.9394（15）, c=6.7332（4）A, β=114.7700（10）°, V=2488.4（3）A^3, C12H9CdN2O5, Mr=373.61, Z=8, Dc=1.995 g/cm^3,μ=1.776 mm^-1, F（000）=1464, R=0.0411 and wR=0.1128 for 2130 observed reflections （I 〉 2σ（I））.X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the compound features a layered structure, in which 4,4＇-bipy ligands bridge Z type of double chains [Cd（μ3-OH）]n and NBA ligands locate at the two sides of the layer. The π-π interactions between the benzene rings of NBA ligands of two adjacent layers lead to the 3D framework.

Iron stability in drinking water distribution systems in a city of China

A field study on the estimation and analysis of iron stability in drinking water distribution system was carried out in a city of China. The stability of iron ion was estimated by pC-pH figure. It was found that iron ion was unstable, with a high Fe （OH）3 precipitation tendency and obvious increase in turbidity. The outer layer of the corrosion scale was compact, while the inner core was porous. The main composition of the scale was iron, and the possible compound constitutes of the outer scale were α-FeOH, γ-FeOOH, α-Fe2O3, γ-F2O3, FeCl3, while the inner were Fe3O4, FeCl2, FeCO3. According to the characteristics of the corrosion scale, it was thought that the main reason for iron instability was iron release from corrosion scale. Many factors such as pipe materials, dissolved oxygen and chlorine residual affect iron release. Generally, higher iron release occurred with lower dissolved oxygen or chlorine residual concentration, while lower iron release occurred with higher dissolved oxygen or chlorine residual concentration. The reason was considered that the passivated out layer of scale of ferric oxide was broken down by reductive reaction in a condition of low oxidants concentration, which would result more rapid corrosion of the nine and red water phenomenon.

Traumatic brain injury（TBI） can result in poor functional outcomes and death, and overall outcomes are varied. Growth factors, such as angiopoietin-1（Ang-1）, vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF）, and granulocyte-colony stimulating factor（G-CSF）, play important roles in the neurological functions. This study investigated the relationship between serum growth factor levels and long-term outcomes after TBI. Blood samples from 55 patients were collected at 1, 3 and 7 days after TBI. Blood samples from 39 healthy controls were collected as a control group. Serum Ang-1, G-CSF, and VEGF levels were measured using ELISA. Patients were monitored for 3 months using the Glasgow Outcome Scale-Extended（GOSE）. Patients having a GOSE score of 〉 5 at 3 months were categorized as a good outcome, and patients with a GOSE score of 1-5 were categorized as a bad outcome. Our data demonstrated that TBI patients showed significantly increased growth factor levels within 7 days compared with healthy controls. Serum levels of Ang-1 at 1 and 7 days and G-CSF levels at 7 days were significantly higher in patients with good outcomes than in patients with poor outcomes. VEGF levels at 7 days were remarkably higher in patients with poor outcomes than in patients with good outcomes. Receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that the best cut-off points of serum growth factor levels at 7 days to predict functional outcome were 1,333 pg/mL for VEGF, 447.2 pg/mL for G-CSF, and 90.6 ng/mL for Ang-1. These data suggest that patients with elevated levels of serum Ang-1, G-CSF, and decreased VEGF levels had a better prognosis in the acute phase of TBI（within 7 days）. This study was registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry（registration number： ChiCTR1800018251） on September 7, 2018.
