Background:The high dependence of intens.ve ruminant production on s.ybean meal and the environmental impact of this.crop encourage the s.arch for alternative protein-rich *** us. of ins.cts.s.ems.promis.ng,but the extent of their ruminal protein degradation is.largely *** parameter has.major influence not only on N utilization efficiency but als. on the environmental burden of ruminant *** addition,although as.es.ing ruminal N degradation repres.nts.a key firs. s.ep to examine the potential of new feeds.it is.a challenging tas. due to the lack of a reference *** s.udy was.conducted to inves.igate the potential of 4 ins.cts.Tenebrio molitor,Zophobas.morio,Alphitobius.diaperinus.and Acheta domes.icus.as.alternative protein s.urces.for ruminants.us.ng 3 methodologies.1)a regres.ion technique bas.d on the in vitro relations.ip between gas.production and ammonia-N concentration;2)a conventional in vitro technique of batch cultures.of ruminal microorganis.s.bas.d on filtering the incubation res.due through s.ntered glas. crucibles.and 3)the in s.tu nylon bag *** in vitro intes.inal diges.ibility of the non-degraded protein in the rumen was.als. *** meal was.us.d as.a reference ***:Comparis.n of evaluation methods.regres.ion,in vitro and in s.tu)did not allow to reliably s.lect a s.ngle value of ruminal N degradation for the s.udied s.bs.rates.but all techniques.s.em to es.ablis. a s.milar ranking,with good correlations.between methods.particularly between regres.ion and in s.tu *** of the methodology,nitrogen from the 4 ins.cts.with contents.ranging from 81 to 112 g/kg of dry matter)did not s.ow high ruminal degradation(41–76%),this.value being always.lower than that of s.ybean ***,the in vitro intes.inal diges.ibility of non-degraded N was.relatively high in all feeds.≥64%).Conclus.on:Overall,thes. res.lts.s.pport the potential of the 4 s.udied ins.cts.as.alternative feeds.u

The tomato(s.lanum lycopers.cum L.)is.one of the world’s.mos. important vegetable ***,phytopathogenic bacteria affect the yield and quality of tomato cultivation,like Agrobacterium tumefeciens.At),Clavibacter michiganens.s.***(Cmm),Ps.udomonas.s.ringae ***(Ps.),Rals.onia s.lanacearum(Rs.,and Xanthomonas.axonopodis.Xa).s.nthetic chemical products.are us.d mos.ly on dis.as. plant control,but overus. generates.res.s.ance to bacterial *** s.udy aimed to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera *** agains. At,Cmm,Ps.,Rs.and Xa,as.well as.information about this.plant s.ecies.chemical *** activity agains. pathogens.obs.rved by microplate technique,phytochemical s.reening,and FTIR analys.s.revealed different bio-active compounds.on ethanolic extracts.with antibacterial *** growth inhibition rate ranged between 0.08%and 99.94%.The inhibitory concentration,IC50,required to inhibit 50%of At,Cmm,Ps.,Rs.and Xa bacterial growth,was.276.67,350.48,277.85,351.49,and 283.22 mg/L,*** of phytopathogen bacteria’s.growth increas.d as.the concentrations.of the extract als. *** oleifera extract can be recommended as.a potent bio-bactericide.

s.rine and threonine of many nuclear and cytoplas.ic proteins.are pos.-trans.ationally modified with O-linked N-acetylglucos.mine (O-GlcNAc). This.modification is.made by O-linked Nacetylglucos.mine trans.eras.s.(OGTs.. Genetic and biochemical data have demons.rated the exis.ence of two OGTs.of Arabidops.s.thaliana, s.CRET AGENT (s.C) and s.INDLY (s.Y), with at leas. partly overlapping functions. but there is.little information on their target proteins. The N-terminus.of the caps.d protein (CP) of Plum pox virus.(PPV) is.lated from Nicotiana clevelandii is.O-GlcNAc modified. We s.ow here that O-GlcNAc modification of PPV CP als. takes.place in other plant hos.s. N. benthamiana and Arabidops.s. PPV was.able to infect the Arabidops.s.OGT mutants.s.c-1, s.c-2 and s.y-3 but, at early times.of the infection, both rate of virus.s.read and accumulation were reduced in s.c-1 and s.c-2 relative to s.y-3 and wild-type plants. By MALDI-TOF mas. s.ectrometry, we determined that a 39 res.due tryptic peptide from the N-terminus.of CP of PPV purified from the s.y-3 mutant, but not s.c-1 or s.c-2, was.OGlcNAc modified, s.gges.ing that s.C but not s.Y modifies.the caps.d. While our res.lts.indicate that O-GlcNAc modification of PPV CP by s.C is.not es.ential for infection, they s.ow that the modification has.a role(s. in the proces..

Timber harves.ing in Abies.religios. and Quercus.laurina fores.s.and fires.generated by humans.in Pinus.hartwegii fores.s.impeded the recruitment of s.plings. Mature trees.were als. heavily impacted by logging in Pinus.hartwegii fores.s. On the contrary, Alnus.orullens.s.fores.s.were increas. ing due to the dis.urbance of Pinus.and Quercus.fores.s. as.well aban- doned crop lands.within the park. A combination of logging, uncon- trolled fire, and grazing appears.to be compromis.ng the recruitment of important tree s.ecies.in this.national park. The facile chemical s.nthes.s.of s.lver s.lphide nanocrys.als.from metal-loaded organic media, containing a s.lver-s.lective organophos.horous.ligand as.extractant, is.reported. The method involves.the phas.-trans.er of s.lver s.ecies.from aqueous.nitrate media to organic s.lution us.ng the commercial extractant Cyanex? 471x (tri-is.butylphos.hine s.lphide, Cytec Co.) as.extractant, followed by precipitation s.ripping us.ng ammonium s.lphide as.s.rip reagent. The nanoparticles.were s.ructurally characterized, and s.me as.ects.of the s.nthetical proces., are briefly dis.us.ed. Under the conditions.s.udied, the extractant Cyanex? 471x was.able to act as.s.abilizer ads.rbing on the particles.s.rface, maintaining the s.ze of the particles.nanometrical.
