Ov.rloading the intestine enterocytes with lipids induced alteration of the Golgi complex(GC;Sesorov. et al.,2020)and could cause glycosylation ***,using differentiated Caco-2 cells with the established 0[I]blood group phenotype(no expression of the blood antigens A and B[AgA,AgB]under normal conditions)as a model of human enterocytes we examined whether the ov.rloading of these cells with lipids could cause errors in the Golgi-dependent *** demonstrated that under these conditions,there were alterations of the GC and the appearance of lipid droplets in the *** cells produced AgA and *** suggested that after ov.rloading of enterocytes with lipids,AgA were mistakenly synthesized in indiv.dual enterocytes by the Golgi *** mistakes could explain why in the absence of AgA and AgB antibodies against them exist in the blood.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is one of the most prev.lent malignancies worldwide and the second leading cause of death among all cancer types. Deregulation of the networks of tissue-specific transcription factors(TFs) observ.d in HCC leads to profound changes in the hepatic transcriptional program that facilitates tumor progression. In addition, recent reports suggest that substantial aberrations in the production of TF isoforms occur in HCC. In v.tro experiments hav. identified distinct isoform-specific regulatory functions and related biological effects of liv.r-specific TFs that are implicated in carcinogenesis, which may be relev.nt for tumor progression and clinical outcome. This study rev.ews av.ilable data on the expression of isoforms of liv.r-specific and ubiquitous TFs in the liv.r and HCC and their effects, including HNF4α, C/EBPs, p73 and TCF7 L2, and indicates that assessment of the ratio of isoforms and targeting specific TF v.riants may be beneficial for the prognosis and treatment of HCC.

Using a nov.l small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) method for determination of fractional and subfractional composition of lipoproteins (LPs), a significant elev.tion of total cholesterol-lipop- roteins (C-LP) and, especially, total triglyceride- lipoproteins (TG-LP), was shown in this work. Among the LP fractions, poloxamer 407 was shown to significantly increase proatherogenic total C-LDL, TG-LDL and, especially, their precursors C-v.DL and TG-v.DL, while only exhibiting a moderate increase in the antiatherogenic C-HDL and TG-HDL fractions. With regard to the v.DL subfractions, significant elev.tions were observ.d in both subfractions studied;namely, C-v.DL1-2 and C-v.DL3-5. Similar chang- es were noted in the TG-v.DL1-2 and TG- v.DL3-5 subfractions. The C-IDL and TG-IDL subfractions were increased significantly (?20- to 30- fold), while the C-LDL1-3 subfraction was moderately (?3- to 5-fold) increased at 48 hrs and at day 4. In the moderately elev.ted (?2- to 4-fold) anti-atherogenic HDL fraction, the C-HDL2 subfraction was increased more significantly (?4- fold) compared to the C-HDL3 subfraction;how- ev.r, both C-HDL subfractions returned to base- line by day 4. The elev.tion in the TG-HDL2 subfraction was observ.d only at 24 hrs. Mouse models of hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis are useful to ev.luate the role of “indiv.dual” LPs, as well as their fractions and subfractions, in hyperlipidemia and the genesis of atherosclerosis.

Prev.ous social experience may affect subsequent behav.or. It was shown by other authors that Drosophila melanogaster males kept indiv.dually are more aggressiv. and sexually activ. than males kept in a group. In the present study, we tested the locomotor activ.ty of indiv.dual males and females prev.ously reared either indiv.dually, or in a group. We found that keeping 20 young males for three days together led to a strong long-term (up to 5 days) reduction in their further locomotor activ.ty as indiv.duals. Rearing of young males in groups of other sizes (2, 5, 10, and 30) produced a smaller or no after-effect. At the same time, we hav. not found any difference in subsequent behav.or of indiv.dual females prev.ously kept either indiv.dually, or in a group. We suppose that in a group, flies learned to suppress their locomotor activ.ty to prev.nt unpleasant contacts with other animals (operant learning). It seems that in males this learning is more efficient because of the higher lev.l of aggression producing the stronger negativ. reinforcement.
