Knowledge of the boundary shear stress distribution in channels is important because it is a key factor affecting on erosion and sedimentation rates. The presence of sediment deposits in sewers is often reported during operation, and circular channels are frequently used in sewer networks. Gene expression programming(GEP) is applied in this study to determine an equation for evaluating the shear stress distribution along the wetted perimeter of a circular channel with a flat bed, because of the presence of sediment on the bed. In view of the parameters affecting the shear stress distribution, five dimensionless parameters are applied to develop six GEP models to be used with 905 experimental data. The impact of the shear stress parameters is studied using the six GEP models and by dividing the wetted perimeter into wall and bed sections. Two equations are extracted from the GEP models' output to estimate wall and bed shear stresses. The best model results are compared with a well-known equation based on the entropy concept. The GEP model predictions of wall and bed shear stresses are very similar to the experimental outcomes, whereas the entropy-based model overestimates the shear stress *** proposed GEP models demonstrate superior performance in estimating the shear stress distribution with a mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) of 3.79% compared to an existing equation with MAPE of 9.52%.

objective:To reveal the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodiasis,Trichostrogylus,Haemonchus,Strongyloides and Trichuris and coccidiosis,mainly Eimeria in kids,yearlings and adult ***:A total of 287 goat faecal specimens were randomly collected from three farms in Kuala Terengganu,Setiu and ***:Prevalence of coccidiosis(89.2%) was significantly higher(Pointestinal nematodiasis(52.3%).Gastrointestinal nematodes(GINs) were found in37.0% kids,63.5% yearlings and 53.3% *** of GINs revealed the predominance of Strongyloides(45.6%) followed by Trichostrogylus(12.9%),Haemonchus(11.8%) and Trichuris(8.7%) in all groups whereby the adult goats recorded the highest infections of Trichostrogylus(20.5%),Haemonchus(10.6%),Strongyloides(51.5%) in all *** age-specific intensity for Eimeria was in following order:kids(92.6%),adults(86.6%) and yearlings(51.5%) and the difference was not significant(P > 0.05).The concurrent infections between GINs and Eimeria were 67.94% in all *** of Trichostrongylus(17.4%),Haemonchus(15.15%) and Strongyloides(40.4%) with Eimeria had infected most adult *** infections of Trichostrongylus with Eimeria and Trichuris with Eimeria were significantly higher in adults than yearlings and kids(P onclusions:GINs and Eimeria were widely distributed in the goats leading to higher risk of morbidity and mortality.

Continuous-cyclic variations in the b-value of the earthquake frequency-magnitude distribution

Seismicity of the Earth （M ≥ 4.5） was compiled from NEIC, IRIS and ISC catalogues and used to compute b-value based on various time windows. It is found that continuous cyclic b-variations occur on both long and short time scales, the latter being of much higher value and sometimes in excess of 0.7 of the absolute b-value. These variations occur not only yearly or monthly, but also daily. Before the occurrence of large earthquakes, b-values start increasing with variable gradients that are affected by foreshocks. In some cases, the gradient is reduced to zero or to a negative value a few days before the earthquake occurrence. In general, calculated b-values attain maxima 1 day before large earthquakes and minima soon after their occurrence. Both linear regression and maximum likelihood methods give correlatable, but variable results. It is found that an expanding time window technique from a fixed starting point is more effective in the study of b-variations. The calculated b-variations for the whole Earth, its hemispheres, quadrants and the epicentral regions of some large earthquakes are of both local and regional character, which may indicate that in such cases, the geodynamic processes acting within a certain region have a much regional effect within the Earth. The b-variations have long been known to vary with a number of local and regional factors including tectonic stresses. The results reported here indicate that geotectonic stress remains the most significant factor that controls b-variations. It is found that for earthquakes with Mw ≥ 7, an increase of about 0.20 in the b-value implies a stress increase that will result in an earthquake with a magnitude one unit higher.

Mango fruit is one of the main fruit commodities that contributes to Taiwan’s *** implementation of technology is an alternative to increasing the quality and quantity of mango plantation product *** this study,a Wireless Sensor Networks(“WSNs”)-based intelligent mango plantation monitoring system will be developed that implements deep reinforcement learning(DRL)technology in carrying out prediction tasks based on three classifications:“optimal,”“sub-optimal,”or“not-optimal”conditions based on three parameters including humidity,temperature,and soil *** key idea is how to provide a precise decision-making mechanism in the real-time monitoring system.A value function-based will be employed to perform DRL model called deep Q-network(DQN)which contributes in optimizing the future reward and performing the precise decision recommendation to the agent and system *** WSNs experiment result indicates the system’s accuracy by capturing the real-time environment parameters is 98.39%.Meanwhile,the results of comparative accuracy model experiments of the proposed DQN,individual Q-learning,uniform coverage(UC),and NaÏe Bayes classifier(NBC)are 97.60%,95.30%,96.50%,and 92.30%,*** the results of the comparative experiment,it can be seen that the proposed DQN used in the study has themost optimal *** with 22 test scenarios for“optimal,”“sub-optimal,”and“not-optimal”conditions was carried out to ensure the system runs well in the real-world *** accuracy percentage which is generated from the real-world data reaches 95.45%.Fromthe resultsof the cost analysis,the systemcanprovide a low-cost systemcomparedtothe conventional system.

This paper addresses the ring-cavity fiber laser system. A class of gray and black soliton solutions of the model are reported by adopting an appropriate envelope ansatz. Further more, the modulation instability (MI) of the equation is studied using the linear-stability analysis (LSA) technique and the MI gain spectrum is derived. Some physical interpretations and analysis of the results obtained are also presented.

Indonesia is a producer in the fisheries sector,with production reaching 14.8 million tons in *** production potential of the fisheries sector can be optimally optimized through aquaculture *** of the most important issues in aquaculture management is how to efficiently control the fish pond water *** technology can be applied to support a fish pond aquaculture monitoring system,especially for catfish species(Siluriformes),in real-time and *** of the technologies that can provide this convenience is the *** problem of this study is how to integrate IoT devices with Firebase’s cloud data system to provide reliable and precise data,which makes it easy for fish cultivators to monitor fishpond conditions in real time and *** IoT aquaculture fishpond monitoring use 3 parameters:(1)water temperature;(2)pHwater level;and(3)turbidity level of pond *** devices use temperature sensors,pH sensors,and turbidity sensors,which are integrated with a microcontroller and Wi-Fi *** from sensor readings are sent to the Firebase cloud via theWi-Fi module so that it can be accessed in real time by end users with an Androidbased mobile *** findings are(1)the IoT-based aquaculture monitoring system device has a low error rate in measuring temprature,pH,and turbidity with a percentage of 1.75%,1.94% and 9.78%,***,the total average error of the three components is 4.49%;(2)in cost analysis,IoT-based has a cost-effectiveness of 94.21% compared to labor *** IoT-based aquaculture monitoring system using Firebase can be effectively used as a technology for monitoring fish pond conditions in real-time and remotely for fish cultivators that contribute to providing an IoT-based aquaculture monitoring system that produces valid data,is precise,is easy to implement,and is a low-cost system.

objective:To identify the prevalence of Cryptosporidium from goats in three types of farm management systems in Terengganu,Malaysia and to determine the Cryptosporidium species infecting goats by using 18 S r ***:A total of 478 fecal samples were randomly collected from goats in three farms;199 samples were collected from intensive farm,179 samples from semi-intensive farm and 100 samples from extensive *** samples were processed by using formolether concentration technique and stained by using modified Ziehl–*** samples were performed by using nested PCR analysis by using 18 S r ***:out of 478 goats,207(43.3%) were found to be infected with *** reared under the intensive farm management system reported the highest prevalence of infection(49.7%),followed by intensive farm management system(41%) and the lowest prevalence was reported in the goats reared under semi-intensive management system(37.4%).Conclusions:The identified species found in goat was Cryptosporidium *** study on the zoonotic transmission of Cryptosporidium parvum in goats needs to be done in order to find the source of transmission of this parasite.

The viscosity of a substance or material is intensely influenced by the temperature,especially in the field of lubricant engineering where the changeable temperature is well *** this paper,the problem of temperature-dependent viscosity on mixed convection flow of Eyring Powell fluid was studied together with Newtonian heating thermal boundary *** flow was assumed to move over a vertical stretching *** model of the problem,which is in partial differential equations,was first transformed to ordinary differential equations using appropriate *** approach was considered to reduce the complexity of the ***,the transformed equations were solved using the Keller box method under the finite difference scheme *** validation process of the results was performed,and it was found to be in an excellent *** results on the present computation are shown in tabular form and also graphical *** major finding was observed where the skin friction and Nusselt number were boosted in the strong viscosity.
