Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD) represent challenges, both from a diagnostic, and therapeutic point of view. Deep-seated anatomic structures are difficult to assess by ultrasound technique alone. As radiation-free alternative cross-sectional imaging method, magnetic resonance imaging of the intestinal structures is costly and time-consuming. Examination of pediatric patients imply additional considerations: reduction of body motions in younger children and consideration of the most appropriate preparation, and examination technique. The demanding Sellink technique is the only means for appropriately distending the lesser intestine in order to detect small bowel strictures. Oral intake of contrast medium(CM) alone shows its limitations regarding distensibility. The need for intravenous contrast media application needs to be considered, too. Active inflammation of both intestinal wall, and mesentery can be demonstrated accurately. Nevertheless, viable alternatives to CM application is desirable, considering non-negligible adverse reactions. Recent data suggest diffusion weighted imaging might fill this diagnostic gap. Irrespective of sequence technique chosen, bowel movement remains a major obstacle. Antispasmolytics in their function as smooth muscle relaxants help in improving image quality, however, their use in children might be off-label. Optimal preparation for the examination and appropriate imaging technique allow for diagnosing typical patterns of changes in IBD, such as bowel wall thickening, ulcers, mural stratification, strictures, creeping fat, and comb sign, and lymphadenopathy. The article gives a detailed overview of current significance of magnetic resonance imaging pediatric patients suffering from IBD, considering indications, limitations, and safety aspects.

A self-heating intensity index(SHII)based on the highest(pixel max.)and lowest(pixel min.)values taken from satellite thermal maps of burning coal waste dumps are *** index enables the classification of such fires in Ukrainian-and Polish coal waste *** in Ukraine and in Poland,varying thermal intensities during 1985–2019 are revealed,using the SHII and following thermal intensity threshold values,namely,extreme thermal activity([7),advanced(3–7),moderate(3–1.5),initial(1.5–1),no activity(<1).The SHII shows decreasing thermal activity in the selected Ukrainian coal waste dumps during 2017–*** aids in reconstructing the thermal history of the *** of satellite images revealed a large number of burning coal waste dumps in the Donetsk Coal Basin(Ukraine)with high thermal *** burning likely reflects large amounts of organic matter and sulphides in the dumped material subjected to self-heating and self-burning processes,lack of compaction of the coal waste and/or high methane *** of SHII values calculated from satellite-and drone thermal-camera images were compared to show that SHII from drone thermal images have much higher values than those from satellite images;the former have better ***,SHII from Landsat-and drone images should be used separately in dump heating studies.

Background:Extended-release buprenorphine(XR)is indicated for pain management in rodents,but little is known about its use in *** study aimed to investigate whether high dose XR effectively attenuates post-operative hypersensitivity better than low dose XR in a mouse model of incisional ***:Mice(n 44)were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 treatment groups:(a)saline(1 ml/kg SC,once);(b)sustained release buprenorphine(Bup-SR,1 mg/kg SC,once);(c)low dose extended-release buprenorphine(XR-lo,3.25 mg/kg SC,once);(d)high dose extended-release buprenorphine(XR-hi,6.5 mg/kg SC,once).On days􀆴1,0(4 hours),1,2,and 3,mechanical and thermal hypersensitivities were evaluated,and plasma buprenorphine concentrations were ***:Mechanical(days 0-2)and thermal(days 0-1)hypersensitivities were ob-served in the saline ***-SR,XR-lo,and XR-hi attenuated mechanical hyper-sensitivity on days 0,1,and *** of the treatment groups,except XR-Lo on day 0,attenuated thermal hypersensitivity on days 0 or *** buprenorphine concen-tration peaked at 4 hours(day 0)in all treatment groups and remained greater than 1 ng/mL on days *** abnormal clinical observations or gross pathologic findings were seen in any ***:The results indicate XR-hi did not effectively attenuate post-operative hypersensitivity better than *** both 3.25 and 6.5 mg/kg XR are recom-mended for attenuating post-operative hypersensitivity for at least up to 48 hours in mice.

In this work,polymeric and bioactive glass(BG)-modified composite films were successfully loaded with polyphenols(PPh)extracted from *** was hypothesized that PPh,alone and in combination with BGs particles,would affect physicochemical and biological properties of the ***,sol-gel-derived BG particles would serve as an agent for control the release of the polyphenolic compounds,and other important properties related to the presence of *** results showed that polyphenolic compounds significantly modified numerous material properties and also acted as biologically active *** the one hand,PPh can be considered as plasticizers for PCL,on the other hand,they can act as coupling agent in composite materials,improving their mechanical *** presence of PPh in materials improved their hydrophilicity and apatite-forming ability,and also provided antioxidant *** is important is that the aforementioned properties and kinetics of PPh release can be modulated by the use of various concentrations of PPh,and by the modification of PCL matrix with sol-gel-derived BG particles,capable of binding *** films containing the lowest concentration of PPh exhibited cytocompatibility,significantly increased alkaline phosphatase activity and the expression of bone extracellular matrix proteins(osteocalcin and osteopontin)in human normal osteoblasts,while they reduced intracellular reactive oxygen species production in ***,materials loaded with PPh showed antibiofilm properties against Gram positive and Gram negative *** results suggest that obtained materials represent potential multifunctional biomaterials for bone tissue engineering with a wide range of tunable properties.

Owing to a predicted rise in temperature,increase in precipitation and the escalating anthropogenic stresses,the Himalayan ecosystems are the most threatened non-polar regions of the *** the past,there have been racing extinctions and range shifts of several life forms in this region,particularly of the plant ***,consistent qualitative and quantitative records on botanical baseline data on a regular basis are *** current communication attempts to provide a detailed account on the current state of knowledge and research gaps in floristic studies of Himachal Pradesh,Western *** on an extensive review of more than 140 studies in the form of scientific peer reviewed literature on floristics,medicinal and aromatic plants(MAPs),rare,endangered,threatened and endemic species and ethno-botany,it is revealed that the number of floristic studies in Himachal Pradesh have surged in the past years but studies pertaining to the lower plants remain ***,the remote valleys including micro-watersheds lying in the coldarid regions are relatively less studied in terms of available growing stock and population status of *** traditional ethno-botanical knowledge has been the major concern and,many threatened MAPs need to be accessed globally following IUCN ***,documentation of the conservation status of key MAPs,setting aside conservation areas around viable populations of threatened species,developing germplasm banks of the priority MAPs and monitoring the impacts of climate change has been suggested.

Population ageing is a worldwide phenomenon,but the speed and scale of ageing are much greater in China than in most other *** paper discusses the key demographic indicators of the population in China and provides a comparison with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)*** evolution of the Chinese pension system is summarised before concentrating on the current structure for both public-and private-sector workers as well as rural and urban *** level of future pension promises for full career workers is calculated and compared with those of selected OECD *** future challenges are highlighted as China seeks to achieve an adequate and sustainable pension *** paper highlights the issue of high level of pensioner poverty in comparison to many OECD countries as well as the low retirement age,particularly for women,despite China’s relatively high employment rates for older workers.
