This study reports the successful so nochemical synthesis of novel Fe3O4/SiO2/ZnO-Pr6O11(Fe/Si/Zn-Pr6O11) nanocomposites using fructose as a green capping *** influence of various parameters containing capping agent,power and time of ultrasound irradiation was investigated to reach optimum morphology and size *** products obtained were characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),UV/Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS),Fourier transform infrared spectra(FT-IR),vibration sample magnetometer(VSM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis(EDS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The Fe3O4/SiO2/ZnO-Pr6O11 nanocomposites display remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activity towards rhodamine b degradation(89.6%)and Congo red(84.7%) under UV irradiation compared with the other *** results illustrate that the photocatalytic efficiency of magnetic nanocomposites is very much higher than pure *** photocatalyst still has good stability after five successive ***,these recyclable nanocomposites can play a role in the treatment of both industrial and domestic contaminated water.

Cytotoxic effect of methanolic extracts of Fritillaria imperialis bulbs and Eryngium caucasicum leaves on hepatoma and colon cancer cells

Objective: To evaluate antitumor activities of Fritillaria imperialis and Eryngium caucasicum methanolic extracts on human hepatoma (HepG2) and colon cancer (HCT116) cell lines in comparison to human foreskin fibroblasts as the normal cells. Methods: Methanolic extracts of Fritillaria imperialis and Eryngium caucasicum were prepared by the maceration method. The effect of the extracts at various concentrations (100, 200, 400, 600, and 800 μg/mL) on cell survival was evaluated using the MTT method. Besides, fluorescence staining was used to evaluate death patterns of the cells. Results: MTT assay showed that Fritillaria imperialis significantly decreased the viability of all cell lines after 24 and 48 hours of treatments. However, Eryngium caucasicum extract did not show any significant cytotoxicity effect on the cell lines. Fluorescence staining revealed that Fritillaria imperialis induced apoptosis of HCT116 cells at 550 μg/mL. Conclusions: Fritillaria imperialis extract has antiproliferative and cytotoxic effects on HCT116 and HepG2 cancer cells and therefore, may serve as an anticancer agent.

Mercury(II) is an important factor in hepatotoxicity that can enter the body through marine diets and *** the present study,the protective effect of the Eriobotrya japonica flower extract(EJFE) on HgCl 2-induced hepatotoxicity was *** mg/kg of mercuric chloride in drinking water was given to rats either with saline or EJFE(100 and 200 mg/kg as intraperitoneal(IP)) for 30 *** mercury levels in different groups of liver tissues of the rats were measured with flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy(F-AAS).Also,mercury accumulation in the liver of the rats was modeled by using a parallel chemical kinetic *** results showed that HgCl 2-induced oxidative damage led to a significant decrease in glutathione(GSH) and the total antioxidant capacity(TAC) levels,and to a significant increase in lipid peroxidation *** mercury was 14.47% more in the livers of the stress groups than in those of the control groups(P<0.001),whereas the amount of Hg was adjusted to 13.49% and 13.93% in groups treated with 100 and 200 mg/kg of EJFE respectively,as compared with stress groups(P<0.001).HPLC analysis of EJFE revealed that hesperetin and gallic acid are the major antioxidants in *** demonstrate that flowers of the Eriobotrya japonica cause a significant protection against HgCl 2 induced hepatotoxicity in all diagnostic parameters by strengthening the antioxidant defense mechanisms and they may have a therapeutic function in free radical mediated diseases.

Objective:To assess the effect of valerian root extract on the sleep quality of patients after coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)***:The patients who participated in this triple-blind clinical trial were selected by permuted block *** participants were assigned to the valerian(n=36)and placebo(n=36)*** valerian group received 530 mg of valerian capsules for 30 nights after CABG surgery,and the placebo group received 530 mg of the placebo capsules containing wheat *** Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the prothrombin time(PT)and partial thromboplastin time(PTT)were assessed on four occasions,including the baseline,the 3 rd,14 th and 30 th days following ***:The odds ratio of worsened sleep quality significantly varied over time(the interaction of time and group)in the valerian group compared to the placebo group in various dimensions including total sleep quality(P=0.001),sleep latency(Pality safely after CABG surgery.

This study discussed the application of response surface methodology(RSM)and central composite rotatable design(CCRD)for modeling and optimization of the influence of some operating variables on the performance of a lab scale thickener for dewatering of tailing in the flotation *** thickener operating variables,namely feed flowrate,solid percent,flocculant dosage and feedwell height were changed during the tests based on *** ranges of values of the thickener variables used in the design were a feed flowrate of 9–21 L/min,solid percent of 8%–20%,flocculant dosage of 1.25–4.25 g/t and feedwell height of 16–26 cm.A total of 30 thickening tests were conducted using lab scale thickener on flotation tailing obtained from the Sarcheshmeh copper mine,*** underflow solid percent and bed height were expressed as functions of four operating parameters of *** values were found to be in good agreement with experimental values(R2values of 0.992 and 0.997 for underflow solid percent and bed height,respectively).This study has shown that the RSM and CCRD could effciently be applied for the modeling of thickener for dewatering of flotation tailing.

Early detection of sudden cardiac death by using classical linear techniques and time-frequency methods on electrocardiogram signals

Early detection of sudden cardiac death may be used for surviving the life of cardiac patients. In this paper we have investigated an algorithm to detect and predict sudden cardiac death, by processing of heart rate variability signal through the classical and time-frequency methods. At first, one minute of ECG signals, just before the cardiac death event are extracted and used to compute heart rate variability (HRV) signal. Five features in time domain and four features in frequency domain are extracted from the HRV signal and used as classical linear features. Then the Wigner Ville transform is applied to the HRV signal, and 11 extra features in the time-frequency (TF) domain are obtained. In order to improve the performance of classification, the principal component analysis (PCA) is applied to the obtained features vector. Finally a neural network classifier is applied to the reduced features. The obtained results show that the TF method can classify normal and SCD subjects, more efficiently than the classical methods. A MIT-BIH ECG database was used to evaluate the proposed method. The proposed method was implemented using MLP classifier and had 74.36% and 99.16% correct detection rate (accuracy) for classical features and TF method, respectively. Also, the accuracy of the KNN classifier were 73.87% and 96.04%.

For many years, the uncertainty of lie-detection systems has been one of the concerns of defense related agencies. Clearly the results of these systems must be generalized by a high value of accuracy to be acceptable by judicial systems. In this paper, a new method based on P300-based component has been proposed for lie-detection. In this regard, the test protocol is designed based on Odd-ball paradigm concealed information recognition. This test was done on 32 people and their brain signals were acquired. After preprocessing, the classic features are extracted from each single trial. After that, time-frequency (TF) transformation is applied on the sweeps and TF features are produced thereupon. Then, the best combinational feature vector is selected in order to improve classifier accuracy. Finally, Guilty and Innocent persons are classified by KNN and MLP. We found that combination of Time-Frequency and Classic features have better ability to achieve higher amount of accuracy. The obtained results show that the proposed method can detect deception by the accuracy of 89.73% which is better than other previously reported methods.
