Pancreatic cancer is a disease with high unmet clinical *** cancer is also characterised by an intense fibrotic stroma,which harbours many immune *** in both human and animal models have demonstrated that the immune system plays a crucial role in modulating tumour onset and *** human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma,high B-cell infiltration correlates with better patient ***,B cells have received recent interest in pancreatic cancer as potential therapeutic ***,the data on the role of B cells in murine models is unclear as it is dependent on the pancreatic cancer model used to ***,it appears that B cells do organise along with other immune cells such as a network of follicular dendritic cells(DCs),surrounded by T cells and DCs to form tertiary lymphoid structures(TLS).TLS are increasingly recognised as sites for antigen presentation,T-cell activation,Bcell maturation and differentiation in plasma *** this review we dissect the role of B cells and provide directions for future studies to harness the role of B cells in treatment of human pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer remains one of medicine’s largest areas of unmet *** five-year survival rates ofrovement has been made in the last 50 *** presenting with advance stage disease,treatment options are *** date,surgery remains the only potentially curative option,however,with such late disease presentation,the majority of patients are ***,new therapeutic options and a greater understanding of the complex stromal interactions within the tumour microenvironment are sorely needed to revise the dismal outlook for pancreatic cancer *** killer(NK)cells are crucial effector units in cancer *** used as a prognostic biomarker in a range of malignancies,NK cells have received much attention as an attractive target for immunotherapies,both as cell therapy and as a pharmaceutical *** this interest,the role of NK cells in pancreatic cancer remains poorly ***,increasing evidence of the importance of NK cells in this dismal prognosis disease is beginning to come to ***,we review the role of NK cells in pancreatic cancer,examine the complex interactions of these crucial effector units within pancreatic cancer stroma and shed light on the increasingly attractive use of NK cells as therapy.

Peripheral nerve injuries （PNI） are a major clinical prob- lem. In general, PNI results from motor vehicle accidents, lacerations with sharp objects, penetrating trauma （gunshot wounds） and stretching or crushing trauma and fractures. It is estimated that PNI occur in 2.8% of trauma patients and this number reaches 5% if plexus and root lesions are in- cluded. However, due to lack of recent epidemiological stud- ies, these data probably underestimate the actual number of nerve injuries

Every dam or barrage construction affects the watercourse and the retention of sediment that previously was carried by the river, which can lead to siltation of the reservoir and obstruction of water intakes over time, reducing their capacities. However, the information available regarding the effect of sediment and drawdown parameters, sediment management at reservoirs, as well as different equational approaches,is scarce. The current research aims to evaluate the effect of parameters associated with numerical modeling of sediment management in reservoirs considering scenarios with different drawdowns,transport equations, sediment size distributions, and thickness of the initial sediment layer. The case study of the Aimore s Hydropower Plant(HPP) is used, applying the Delft3D-FLOW model for twodimensional modeling. All parameters influenced the volume of mobilized sediment, among which the initial layer thickness was the parameter that resulted in the greatest changes in simulated results. In general, the results show that the uncertainties in the input parameters outweigh the uncertainties between the techniques, which found large variations in results when evaluating the use of different transport equations. These results indicate the importance of proper estimation of model parameters for predicting effects with accuracy and the need for such studies before planning and management operations are evaluated to avoid environmental harm and energy waste.

The coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) group was considered saprophytic or rarely pathogenic for many years. Since the first case of septicemia caused by CoNS, there has been a progressive increase in the prevalence of healthcare-associated infections caused by CoNS. The CoNS group has emerged as one of the main causes of nosocomial infections related to vascular catheters and prostheses, especially among immunocompromised patients. This gradual increase in infections is due to the change in the relationship between patients and procedures since CoNS are closely related to devices implanted in the human body. CoNS are successful in colonizing the host because they have several virulence mechanisms, such as biofilm formation and production of enzymes and toxins, in addition to several mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobials. Despite their great clinical relevance, few studies have focused on CoNS’s pathogenicity and resistance to antimicrobials, which reveals the current need to better understand the factors by which this group became pathogenic to humans and other animals. This review aims to synthesize the aspects related to the pathogenicity and antimicrobial resistance in CoNS.

The use of by-products as raw materials in the manufacturing of industrial products has risen in the last years because of environmental *** example is the use of coal ashes from thermalelectrical plants in the production of geopolymer–a green cement made by mixing aluminosilicate with alkaline *** this study,fly and bottom ashes from a thermal-electrical unit were used as sources of aluminosilicate in the synthesis of geopolymers.A mixture of sodium hydroxide(10 mol/L)and sodium silicate(SiO_(2)/Na_(2)O ratio of 2.2)was used as the alkaline *** type(fly or bottom ash)and content of the ash were the variables in the *** ashes were characterized by X-ray fluorescence(XrF),X-ray diffraction(DrX),particle size distribution(PSD),specific surface area(BET),and thermal analysis(DTA/TGA).The ash-based geopolymer samples were measured to obtain their compressive strength after *** evolution of the geopolymerization process was also assessed based on final alkali concentration *** results show that it is possible to obtain geopolymers using coal ashes as raw materials with high solid *** compressive strength for the bottom ash geopolymer after 90 days of curing is 35 *** low concentration of unreacted alkalis after curing(1.5×10^(-3)e 3.5×10^(-3)M)corresponds to high efficiency of the geopolymerization reaction.

Background:Venous ulcer represents the most advanced stage of chronic venous *** is an important public health problem and has a significant impact on patients’quality of life due to chronic pain,inability to work,need for hospitalization and frequent outpatient ***:We investigated the treatment benefits of far-infrared ceramic(cFIr),in a 90-day study of lower limb venous ulcers and looked at ulcer healing scores,quality of life,serum bio-markers of oxidative stress and antioxidant defense ***,setting,participants and interventions:This is a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study conducted in the Vascular Surgery Service of a hospital located in the northwest region of the State of rio Grande do Sul,*** included patients with lower limb venous ulcers who were randomized to use either a bioceramics wrap or a placebo wrap for 90 *** outcome measures:The following evaluations were conducted at baseline and after 15,30,60 and90 days:ulcer healing score,quality of life,and serum markers of oxidative stress and antioxidant enzyme ***:Patients(n=24)with lower limb venous ulcers were randomized into two treatment *** decreased the ulcer size on day 30(P=0.042)and 90(P=0.034)and the total ulcer healing scale scores on day 30(P=0.049)and 90(P=0.02)of the treatment,when compared to ***,cFIr improved tissue type(epithelial tissue)on day 60(P=0.022)when compared to baseline ***:cFIr clinically improved ulcer healing in patients with lower limb venous *** registration:rBr-8c7xzn on reBEC.
