Carbon nanostructures, including carbon nanotubes （CNTs） and gra- phene, have been studied extensively due to their special structures, excellent electrical properties and high chemical stability. With the development of nanotechnology and nanoscience, various methods have been developed to synthesize CNTs/graphene and to assemble them into microelectroniclsensor devices. In this review, we mainly demon- strate the latest progress in synthesis of CNTs and graphene and their applications in field-effect transistors （FETs） for biological sensors.

The subthalamic nucleus(STN)is considered the best target for deep brain stimulation treatments of Parkinson’s disease(PD).It is difficult to localize the STN due to its small size and deep *** microelectrode arrays(MEAs)can rapidly and precisely locate the STN,which is important for precise *** this paper,16-channel MEAs modified with multiwalled carbon nanotube/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)(MWCNT/PEDOT:PSS)nanocomposites were designed and fabricated,and the accurate and rapid identification of the STN in PD rats was performed using detection sites distributed at different brain *** results showed that nuclei in 6-hydroxydopamine hydrobromide(6-OHDA)-lesioned brains discharged more intensely than those in unlesioned *** addition,the MEA simultaneously acquired neural signals from both the STN and the upper or lower boundary nuclei of the ***,higher values of spike firing rate,spike amplitude,local field potential(LFP)power,and beta oscillations were detected in the STN of the 6-OHDA-lesioned brain,and may therefore be biomarkers of STN *** with the STNs of unlesioned brains,the power spectral density of spikes and LFPs synchronously decreased in the delta band and increased in the beta band of 6-OHDA-lesioned *** may be a cause of sleep and motor disorders associated with ***,this work describes a new cellular-level localization and detection method and provides a tool for future studies of deep brain nuclei.

The results of cyclization reaction between chloropentafluorobenzene and bifunctionalnucleophiles such as XCH2CH2OH（X =OH, NHMe, NHEt） and HN （CH2CH2OH）2, NH2CH2CH2NH2were reported. It was found that the NaH/DMF system was a better reagent for the preparation ofsodium alcoholates and the yields of cyclic products ranged from 50-80% which were muchhigher than that reported by previous workers.3

Functional characterization of the NF-kB binding site in the human NOD2 promoter

Nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain 2(NOD2),a member of the NOD protein family,plays an important role in innate *** response to pathogen attack,NOD2 stimulates cytokine and defensin production by activating nuclear factor(NF)-kB,a key transcription factor responsible for mediating downstream ***,the mechanism linking NOD2 regulation and NF-kB activation is poorly *** bioinformatics,we found a completely preserved canonical NF-kB binding site in the NOD2 core promoter(216 to 225 bp)in both humans and *** functional role of this NF-kB binding site was investigated using the enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP)reporter system,site-directed mutagenesis,the NF-kB activation inhibitor(JSH-23)and the chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)*** results show that the NF-kB binding site is critical for regulation of the NOD2 *** deletion of the NF-kB binding elements within the NOD2 promoter or treatment with an NF-kB activation inhibitor could lead to a significant loss of NOD2 promoter activity as detected by reporter gene *** canonical NF-kB binding site was bound by NF-kB as determined by the ChIP *** on these results,we suggest a positive feedback regulation between NF-kB and NOD2,which may represent an efficient mechanism in response to pathogen invasion.

Prickles act against herbivores, pathogens or mechanical injury, while also preventing water loss. However,whether prickles have new function and the molecular genetics of prickle patterning remain poorly explored. Here, we generated a high-quality reference genome assembly for ‘Basye’s Thornless’(BT), a prickle-free cultivar of Rosa wichuraiana, to identify genetic elements related to stem prickle *** BT genome harbors a high level of sequence diversity in itself and with cultivar ‘Old Blush’(R. chinensis), a founder genotype in rose domestication. Inheritance of stem prickle density was determined and two QTL were identified. Differentially expressed genes in QTL were involved in water-related functions, suggesting that prickle density may hitchhike with adaptations to moist environments. While the prickle-related gene-regulatory-network(GRN) was highly conserved, the expression variation of key candidate genes was associated with prickle density. Our study provides fundamental resources and insights for genome evolution in the Rosaceae. Ongoing efforts on identification of the molecular bases for key rose traits may lead to improvements for horticultural markets.

Mg-Al-hydrotalcite with alkaline sites protects Ni/KIT-6 from formation of amorphous coke in glycerol steam reforming via tailoring reaction intermediates

During steam reforming,the performance of a catalyst and amount/property of coke are closely related to reaction intermediates reaching surface of a ***,modification of reaction intermediates by placing Mg-Al-hydrotalcite above Ni/KIT-6 catalyst in steam reforming of glycerol was conducted at 300 to 600°*** results revealed that the catalytic activity of Ni/KIT-6 in the lower bed was enhanced with either Mg1-Al5-hydrotalcite(containing more acidic sites)or Mg5-Al1-hydrotalcite(containing more alkaline sites)as upper-layer *** in situ infrared characterization of steam reforming demonstrated that Mg-Al-hydrotalcite catalyzed the deoxygenation of glycerol,facilitating the reforming of the partially deoxygenated intermediates over Ni/***-Al-hydrotalcite as protective catalyst,however,did not protect the Ni/KIT-6 from formation of more ***,this did not lead to further deactivation of Ni/KIT-6 while Mg5-Al1-hydrotalcite even substantially enhanced the catalytic stability,even though the coke was much more significant than that in the use of single Ni/KIT-6(52.7%vs.28.6%).The reason beneath this was change of the property of coke from more aliphatic to more ***5-Al1-hydrotalcite catalyzed dehydration of glycerol,producing dominantly reaction intermediates bearing C=C,which formed the catalytic coke of with carbon nanotube as the main form with smooth outer walls as well as higher aromaticity,C/H ratio,crystallinity,crystal carbon size,thermal stability,and resistivity toward oxidation on Ni/KIT-6 in the lower *** comparison,the abundance of acidic sites on Mg1-Al5-hydrotalcite catalyzed the formation of more oxygen-containing species,leading to the formation of carbon nanotubes of rough surface on Ni/KIT-6.

The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global public health crisis,causing social and economic disasters in many *** China,two-consecutive negative results of nucleic acid tests for SARS-CoV-2 from the respiratory samples are required to end the quarantine of COVID-19 ***,clinicians face a dilemma in case of patients with long-term viral *** report described an unusual COVID-19 case who had persistent viral RNA positivity for more than 4 months after initial illness in the presence of low neutralizing antibodies,but without prolonged clinical *** anti-viral drug treatments had no impact and there was no evidence of *** the patient was self-quarantined at home,no infection occurred to the three family members living with her for 15 to 19 *** viral culture in BSL-3 laboratory on the 102nd day after symptom onset was *** the 129th day on,8 continuous nucleic acid tests of sputum samples showed negative *** patient was discharged on 137th days since symptom *** conclusion,viral RNA shedding in the sputum of the COVID-19 patient may last over 4 *** no evidence shows the existence of infectious virus,two-consecutive negative nucleic acid tests may not be the prerequisite for ending quarantine of COVID-19 patients with prolonged viral shedding.
