Interaction of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase C677T,cytochrome P4502E1 polymorphism and environment factors in esophageal cancer in Kazakh population

AIM： To evaluate the association and interaction of genetic polymorphisms in methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase （MTHER） and cytochrome P4502E1 （CY- P4502E1）, environment risk factors with esophageal cancer （EC） in Kazakh, a high EC incidence area of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. METHODS： A 1：2 matched case-control study was conducted with 120 cases of EC and 240 populationor hospital-based controls. The controls were matched for sex, nationality, area of residence and age within a 5-year difference. MTHER and CYP4502E1 genotypes were identified by PCR-based restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP）. A conditional logistic regression model was established to identify risk factors. The strata method was adopted in interaction analysis. RESULTS： Low consumption of green vegetables and fresh fruits, alcohol drinking, and unsafe water （shallow well, or river） were found to be the risk factors for EC. Individuals with the MTHFR677 （C/T ＋ T/T） genotype had a 2.62-fold （95% CI： 1.61-4.28） risk of developing EC compared with those who carried the C/C genotype. Individuals with the CYP4502EIC1/C1 genotype had a 3.00-fold （95% CI： 1.82-4.96） risk compared with those who carried the CYP4502E1 （C1/C2 ＋ C2/C2） genotype. Gene-environment interaction analysis showed that MTHFR677 gene polymorphism was correlated with consumption of green vegetables and fresh fruit, while CYP4502E1 C1/C1 was correlated with alcohol drinking and unsafe drinking water. MTHFR and CYP4502E1 analysis of gene-gene interaction showed that individuals with the MTHFR677 （C/T ＋ T/T） and CYP4502EIC1/ C1 genotypes had a 7.41-fold （95% CI： 3.60-15.25） risk of developing EC compared with those who carried the MTHFR677C/C and CYP4502E1 RsaI C1/C2 ＋ C2/C2 genes, and the interaction rate was higher than that of the two factors alone. CONCLUSION： Low consumption of green vegetables and fresh fruits, alcohol drinking, and unsafe water （shallow well, or river） and polymorphisms in MTHFR and CYP4502E1

The AA5052 aluminum alloy is widely used in automobile and aerospace manufacturing,and with the development of light-weight alloys,it is required that these materials exhibit better mechanical *** studies have demonstrated that the addition of Sc to aluminum alloys can improve both the microstructure and properties of the *** this study,the effect of Sc on the Fe-rich phase and properties of the AA5052 aluminum alloy was studied by adding 0%,0.05%,0.2%,and 0.3%*** results show that with the increase of Sc,the coarse needle-like Fe-rich phase gradually transforms into Chinese-script and then nearly spherical particles,reduce the size of Fe-rich phase,and refine the grain with increase of high angle grain boundaries(HAGBs).These microstructure changes enhance the strength of the AA5052 alloy through Sc *** ductility of the alloy is obviously improved because the addition of a lower amount of Sc changes the morphology of Fe-rich phase from needle-like into a Chinese-script,and it is subsequently reduced as a result of significant increase in HAGBs with increasing Sc content.

Objective:To observe the protective effect of fasudil hydrochloride against acute renal injury in septicopyemia ***:A total of 60 Wister rats were included in the study and divided into control group(n = 10),model group(n = 25) and treatment group(n = 25).Model group and treatment group received intraperitoneal injection of endotoxin(ET) to establish acute renal injury models while the control group only received daily intraperitoneal injection of normal saline 1 *** rats were taken out of model group and treatment group respectively at 1 h(T1),6 h(T2),12 h(T3),24 h(T4) and 48 h(T5),for intraperitoneal injection of ET 30 mg/*** group received intraperitoneal injection of fasudil hydrochloride 30 mg/kg 1 h before injection of *** three groups,5 mL blood samples were collected from postcava for determination of serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels at different time *** of serum tumor necrosis factor and ET-1 were determined by using *** renal pathologic changes were observed under the ***:Serum creatinine levels in both model group and treatment group were significantly higher than control group at T2-T5(P < 0.05) while the levels in treatment group were significantly lower than control group at T3-T5(P < 0.05).At T2-T5,blood urea nitrogen levels in model group and treatment group were significantly higher than control group(P < 0.05) while the levels in treatment group were significantly lower than model group at T3-T5(P < 0.05).Concentrations of serum tumor necrosis factor in model group and treatment group were significantly higher than control group at T1-T5(P < 0.05) while the levels in treatment group were significantly lower than model group at T1-T5(P < 0.05).Serum ET-1 concentrations in model group and treatment group were significantly higher than control group at T1-T5(P <0.05) while the levels in treatment group at T1-T4 were significantly lower man model group(P <0.05).Rats in control gr

The energy density and lifespan of prototype li-S batteries under high sulfur loading and lean electrolyte have been mainly restricted by the incomplete interconversion between insulating S8 and *** introduction of an electrocatalyst has been preserved as an effective way to breakthrough the bottleneck of the interconversion ***,we demonstrate a novel bidirectional redox mediator,insoluble dithiobisphthalimide(DTPI),as the electrocatalyst for both S8 reduction and li2S *** to the dual-functional role of both electron/li^(+)donor and acceptor,DTPI can efficiently accelerate the redox reactions during charge/discharge and significantly alleviate the incomplete conversion of sulfur ***,the li-S batteries with DTPI deliver superior specific capacity and cycling stability in comparison with those without ***,the redox mediator is scalable for synthesis and the DTPI-based 5 A·h pouch cell delivers a specific discharge capacity of around 870 mA·h·g^(−1) at 0.1 C(1 C=1675 mA/g)without capacity fading over 80 *** bidirectional catalysis mechanism has been studied through theoretical calculation and ex-situ characterization of the cathode *** work approves the effectiveness of bidirectional organic redox mediator in the construction of practical li-S batteries.

The development of energy storage devices with high energy density relies heavily on thick film electrodes,but it is challenging due to the limited ion transport kinetics inherent in thick ***,we report on the preparation of a directional vertical array of micro-porous transport networks on LTO electrodes using a femtosecond laser processing strategy,enabling directional ion rapid transport and achieving good electrochemical performance in thick film *** three-dimensional(3D)vertically aligned micro-pore networks are innovatively designed,and the structure,kinetics characteristics,and electrochemical performance of the prepared ion transport channels are analyzed and discussed by multiple characterization and testing ***,the rational mechanisms of electrode performance improvement are studied experimentally and simulated from two aspects of structural mechanics and transmission *** ion diffusion coefficient,rate performance at 60 C,and electrode interface area of the laser-optimized 60-15%micro-porous transport network electrodes increase by 25.2 times,2.2 times,and 2.15 times,respectively than those of untreated ***,the preparation of 3D micro-porous transport networks by femtosecond laser on ultra-thick electrodes is a feasible way to develop high-energy *** addition,the unique micro-porous transport network structure can be widely extended to design and explore other high-performance energy materials.

The protein HTRP (human transcription regulator protein) is encoded by the differential gene htrp and induced by Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection in KMB-17 *** was found to interact with SAP30 (mSin3A Association Protein),one of the components of co-repressor complex mSin3A,which is part of the deacetylation transfer enzyme *** reveal the biological significance of the interaction between HTRP and SAP30,real-time PCR and a dual-luciferase detecting system was *** results indicate that HTRP could inhibit the transcription of a viral promoter,whose interaction with SAP30 synergistically affects transcriptional inhibition of the viral genes,and is related to HDAC enzyme *** experiments demonstrate that HTRP could promote HDAC activity by increasing the deacetylation level of lysine 14 and lysine 9 in histone H3.

The interrelated side reactions and dendrites growth severely destabilize the electrode/electrolyte interfaces,resulting in the difficult application of aqueous Zn ion batteries(AZIBs).Hydrophobic protective layer possesses natural inhibition ability for side ***,the conventional protective layer with plane structure is difficult to attain joint regulation of side reaction and Zn ***,a novel three-dimensional(3D)electrically conductive and hydrophobic(3DECH)interface is elaborated to enable stable Zn *** as-prepared 3DECHinterface presents a uniform 3Dmorphologywith hydrophobic property,large specific surface area,abundant zincophilic sites,and excellent ***,the 3DECH interface achieves uniform nucleation and dendrite-free deposition from synergetic benefits:(1)increased nucleation sites and reduced local current density through the special 3D structure and(2)uniform electric potential distribution and rapid Zn^(2+)transport due to the electroconductive alloy chemistry,thus coupling the hydrophobic property to obtain a highly reversible Zn ***,the modified anode achieves a superior coulombic efficiency of 99.88%over 3500 cycles,and the pouch cells using modified anode and liMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)cathode retain a capacity of 84 mAh g^(−1)after 700 cycles at a reasonable depth discharge of 36%,without dendrite piercing and“dead Zn.”

Deep tissue infections caused by pathogenic bacteria seriously threat the lives of *** this study a smart heterostructured Au/Cu-BTA （BTA=1,2,4,5-benzenetetramine） with microwave （MW） response is synthesized via NaBH4reduction of HAuCl4on the ***/Cu-BTA exhibits excellent hyperthermy and dynamics under MW *** MW thermal mechanism of Au/Cu-BTA is attributed to the excellen dielectric loss and polarization of the heterogeneous ***,the surface energy levels of the Cu-BTA interface alleviate the difficulty of electron hopping through multistage ***,MW can excite Cu-BTA to produce free ***,Au nanoparticles rapidly increase electron transfer and inhibit electron-hole ***,the yields of reactive oxygen species can be enhanced for MW dynamic therapy Consequently,under 10 min of MW irradiation,Au/Cu-BTA killed 99.998%±0.001% of Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus,99.966%±0.014% of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus,and 96.871%±0.831% of Gram-negative Pseudomonas *** effective MW bacteria-killing strategy designed in this study shows significant potential for application in the MW-responsive treatment of deep tissue infections without antibiotics.

Robust chemo-mechanical stability of additives-free SiO_(2)anode realized by honeycomb nanolattice for high performance li-ion batteries

Silicon-based anodes including Si,Si Oxand SiO_(2)could deliver ultra-large capacities,but degrade fast owing to huge volume change and low ***,large amounts of elastic binder and conductive additives were composited with nanosized silicon-based materials to yield reasonable cycling stability,which nevertheless not only decrease specific capacity but also induce inhomogeneous lithiation/delithiation as well as uneven stress *** nanolattice has exhibited superior mechanical properties which could be ideal structure for silicon-based anodes,but yet faces challenges in integration of chemical reactivity,conductivity and mechanical ***,we fabricate artificial SiO_(2)honeycomb nanolattice consisting of numerous nanoscale SiO_(2)cells interconnected by through-holes,and conformal coating of highly graphitic carbon on the nanolattice is achieved through in situ catalytic ***,the nanolattice is firmly bonded on Cu substrate through atomic interdiffusion irrespective of surface *** unique structure allows fast charge transportation and homogeneous lithiation/delithiation throughout the micron-meter nanolattice,which results in excellent stability and large reversible capacity over 500 cycles at 1 A/*** results highlight design and constructing artificial nanolattice can be an effective way to prevent chemo-mechanical degradation of silicon-based anode materials.
